Only by a very bizarre, new and made-up definition of male and female which denies, dismisses and undermines my identity as a woman and that of many other men and women, girls and boys. Many of us are very distressed at our identities being annihilated in this way and it has serious effects on our lives.

You are ignorant of history. Prisons, psychiatric wards, public toilets (in inns etc) and even hotel rooms (commonly shared by strangers in the past) used to be mixed sex. Women were constantly assaulted and had to campaign for single sex facilities for their own safety.
