Anyway, PP82, do you have an answer to my question?

Women get assaulted in mixed sex spaces.

What do you think is the correct response for someone who is advocating for that?

I'm definitely not advocating for sexual assault.

Women get sexually assaulted in bars. Should they all be shut down?

Datun · 24/02/2024 17:21

PP82 · 24/02/2024 17:17

Very convenient for you to believe no biological woman could ever disagree with you.

Crikey, there's a surprise.

I've never had to invoke Mandy Rice Davis this early

You are getting close to another bingo square.

'Women! Men will rape you anyway so stfu and give us what we want.'

Because the idea of sex segregation has only come about because of the socially constructed notion that the biological differences between the sexes mean that we should be in different social categories. We shouldn't be.

What are you talking about?

We segregate by sex when it matters, because of male violence.

Not because some of us wear skirts.

Honestly, this is a pathetic showing, do better.

Lol. The concept of safeguarding must be something of a stranger to you.

Hint. You don't create situations where women are vulnerable and then increase the risk.

And that is what you're advocating for, is it not?

As a feminist, I agree with this in theory...but, big but, in practice we simply haven't anything like the sexism and misogyny -free, non-patriarchal society this would require. It's unfortunately still the case, despite huge advances in recent decades, that women are generally objectified, (usually but not always unconsciously) seen as a lower social caste and subject to oppressive gender-based notions. Even were all things sociopolitically equal, the male gaze would long persist, culturally, to an extent that would make many women uncomfortable in their bodies around males. I would like to agree with you and would so like to believe we can create a society in which we can all feel welcomed and free to be ourselves in any mixed space, but I strongly feel that in the meantime, not least to ensure we include those who for whatever reason feel uncomfortable unclothed around the opposite sex, we need single sex spaces — as well as providing mixed spaces so everyone is included.

it really is. And if the 82 in the username is the DOB, this person really should know better.

Just for context Datun, which you may have missed: the PP has monopolised posted on many other threads, including about her proposed IVF.

The PP is a woman.

Very convenient for you to believe no biological woman could ever disagree with you.

It’s not the disagreement.

It’s the unlikely claims to have been sexually abused and raped over and over, without being traumatised.

It’s the claim that all your friends have been similarly abused.

It’s the claim that, even though you’ve been raped and abused and all the rest of it, you still don’t think it’s worth having separate spaces to try and prevent it.

If you don’t have a pair of bollocks, you probably desperately wish you did.

PP82 · 24/02/2024 17:15

I'm a man? Better call off the IVF I'm about to start then. Total waste of time. You'd have thought the doctors would have told me.

You think that having a uterus males you a woman? That's a bit transphobic, isn't it?

Thank you, pesky.

But according to that poster, it's meaningless.

Trans ideology says that IVF, conception, pregnancy, is not sex specific.

When sex is not based on biology, that's what you get.

PP82 · 24/02/2024 17:29

If you were so inclined you could do a search and find out that I was posting on fertility related threads long before I accidentally waded into 'FWR' when I was off work following a miscarriage and stumbled upon a post related to egg donation. I was so grimly fascinated (before that I knew the broad brushstrokes of your 'ideology' but just thought you were all nuts and not worth engaging with.) But after reading what you all post in more detail I just can't look away, just like how as an anti fascist activist in the 00s I couldn't stop looking at Stormfront.

AlwaysGinPlease · 24/02/2024 17:30

AhhhI see what you are now @PP82 I see you very clearly. Must be a very sad lonely life for you.

But PP82, you must accept, in that case, that none of this makes you a woman?

I have every sympathy for women who struggle with their biology, but fuck me, when you are advocating for an ideology that fucking ignores it then expecting my understanding makes you hypocritical.

I'm grimly fascinated by women who have had the wide range of experiences and traumas that come from being female in this world but are so utterly devoid of empathy for their fellow women.

Everything you've posted is in defence of men having whatever they want all the time.

You might be a woman but it's no surprise that posters think you're not.

You seem to have no idea how you come across.

Threads about IVF or threads here where the IVF is mentioned as an aside?

That said, I watched a very sad report recently about a young woman who was raped and killed.

Her friend’s mother was in a relationship with a man who was known to abduct and rape young women. The family lied and said the mother would be there when the two girls were planning a night out, but the mother didn’t come. The rapist went instead.

Predictably, the man raped and killed the daughter’s friend. Even then, the mother lied and gave him an alibi.

There are some truly abhorrent, women hating women out there. I can’t understand them or how they ended up so broken. Perhaps that mother had also been raped and abused to the point she thought it normal and that there was no point in trying to prevent it as well.

DialSquare · 24/02/2024 17:37

PP is one of those progressives who's mind is so open, her brain has fallen out. She also likes to project a lot. Like calling us nuts then coming out with the completely insane bollocks she's been spouting all over this board for days.

That is all so grotesquely offensive and ignorant I don't know where to start. I've been somewhat traumatised, but not as much as people on here seem to think I should be. People react to sexual assault differently. Not everyone is debilitatingly traumatised, or traumatised forever.

Single sex spaces did not protect me. I've discussed that on other threads and am not going through it again.

I did not say all of my friends had experienced sexual violence, but most have, because that is the reality of the society in which we live.

My experiences of sexual violence do not define me or dictate all my views on everything. They certainly have nothing to do with trans women.

Some men have uteruses. Some women don't. I have a uterus and also happen to identity as a woman.

Emotionalsupportviper · 24/02/2024 17:39

EmilysNailVarnish · 24/02/2024 13:03

Do we agree that men, common or garden men, who wish to enter women and girls changing rooms are creepy?

If the answer to that is yes, then being logical, as transwomen are men, what is the outcome if transwomen are allowed into womens changing rooms?

You know what isn't healthy?

Having been repeatedly raped (as you claim to have been) and yet not being even remotely wary of men you don't know when you are in a state of vulnerability.

If you had developed a healthy caution of men, then perhaps you would not have been assaulted time and again.

Ah yes, because we cannot avoid all risk, it therefore follows that we should abandon any risk reduction.

Seat belts don’t prevent all road deaths. Do you wear one?

Locking your door doesn’t prevent all burglaries. Do you leave yours open?

Your posts are such a masterclass of logic fail, that you’re either extremely dim or a secret GC.

no it hasn't, that is a speculation, as is every idea about how our culture developed.
logic and archology suggests to me the idea of sex social rolls would have started initially due to the physical differences men and women have and what that would have meant for the group

Dontcallmescarface · 24/02/2024 17:43

I'm still waiting to find out what "women living as women" means. I want to make sure I'm "womaning" in the correct way.
