racism is the use of power against the less powerful, questioning gender idilogy and how it oppresses women is the opposite of that

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 14:46

its the less powerful group trying to fight back

Should a wheelchair user be free to go on a disability forum and tell someone with a hearing impairment that they don't count as disabled and shouldn't be entitled to PIP?

The correct analogy here for men pretending to be women is a disabled wheelchair user and an able bodied person pretending to be a wheelchair user then co-opting the resources for wheelchair users.

How exactly would you deal with a teenage girl who said she didn't think people could change sex or was unhappy with boys pretending to be girls in female spaces because she felt vulnerable?

I'd have no problem with her saying that she didn't believe you could change biological sex. If she was singling out trans students and saying they shouldn't use facilities, that I would deal with.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 14:48

no one objects to people using the facilities appropriate to their sex.

Cis gendered people othering and excluding trans people is the same though, in terms of power dynamics.

So you would insist that males could use her space.

Would you give any consideration to her feelings and needs?

What punishment would you give to a teen girl who felt vulnerable in a female facility with boys?

there is no such thing as 'cis' and 'trans'

Why do male people with TQ+ identities need to use the female only space when they have a mixed sex one available? How can they justify using the female only one in the certain knowledge that it excludes and removes that provision from every woman there? Some of whom do not hold the belief that a male person is ever at any time anything other than a male person like any other male from the male sex class? Why are women wangled and wangled and nagged and scolded at about bending and accepting and understanding, and yet these men have absolutely no responsibilities to anyone else of any kind?

They can fucking be kind, and do some understanding, and they won't need a lot of cod science either.

It comes down to (again) You Do You. Get your kit off in front of whomever you like, if you consent to use a mixed space then jolly good for you. Stop trying to bully women into enabling men to use them, exclude them and destroy their spaces because you believe that anyone with a penis is much more important to you than anyone without. Your sexism is your own problem. The only body you can provide to this political movement is your own.

I was talking about if she were to misgender someone who I knew she knew to be trans. I would tell her that that was her personal belief, but we don't misgender people in this space.

So you would in fact use your position of authority to coercively control her into enacting your personal belief system, and to lie on your command.

Bit of lip service to her legal rights, but that's it.

PP82 thinks the idea of pronouns as coercive control is the most ludicrous notion they have ever heard of so I don't imagine they see it that way. Even though this is a clear demonstration of just that.

No. It is the socially accepted norm now that we don't misgender people. The Forstater judgment said that 'GC' beliefs did not mean you were free to misgender people.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 14:55

your prepaired to abuse kids to validate a mens sex rights movement.

There is names for people who do that

No, just to show respect to others in an environment with rules which include respecting others' legally protected identities.

Froodwithatowel · 24/02/2024 14:56

But no respect to her and her identity.

You really can't see your own bias can you? And no. Misgendering is not illegal.

So how is a young girl able to express her discomfort when people like you have made it a social norm to take away her language to do it?

Can you not see how wicked this is?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 24/02/2024 14:57

Insisting on use of preferred pronouns in an educational environment is akin to paedophilia?

Froodwithatowel · 24/02/2024 14:57

Really nauseates me this whole 'respect' thing, when in essence we're talking about a child being required to genuflect to a child that the adult sees as a higher status, important child owed service. You might as well force her to kneel down and say hail Marys.
