Gosh, describing the majority of the British public as hard of thinking is rather condescending.

14 years of a tory government, plus Brexit, has rather proven my point.

thankyouforthedayz · 24/02/2024 13:28

@AdrianPimento CG women and Transwomen have to find pragmatic ways of sharing so everyone has access to facilities and services AND everyone feels safe. A way of achieving this is with mixed sex spaces ie the mixed sex pond. Why on earth do Transwomen want to use the womens pond where there is a third space, when they know this prevents some women swimming? It's not defensible and I think you know it.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:28

Male bodes, male behavior patterns, male ways of thinking and feeling about sex , women and children = men

If you can convincingly explain to me how a transwoman is different from a man that I will be the first to become a tra

@PP82 Only if you insist on putting people into GOOD or BAD silos.

There is no such thing as 'gender' it does not exist. Its a made up suedo scientific mystical belief.

Not everything that is socially or culturally constructed is pseudo scientific. Are language and art pseudo scientific?

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:30

Politics does not change biology tho

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:31

art and language dont claim to physically change reality

EmilysNailVarnish · 24/02/2024 13:33

Still no answer to how one lives as a woman. Quelle suprise.

Medicine can change your biology. Is that pseudo scientific? Nutrition has changed our biology. Is that pseudo scientific? Evolution has changed our biology. Is that pseudo scientific?

Why does biology matter in this context anyway?

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:34

My mystical abilities predict post modern bullshit incoming in 3..2..1

elgreco · 24/02/2024 13:35

Language and art are not scientific, let alone pseudo scientific.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:36

No medicine is science, based in reality

thats why there is zero evidence of anyone having a 'gender'

Dumbo12 · 24/02/2024 13:37

Do all women live the same life? How does one live as a woman? I live as myself, I am a woman, therfore presumably, I live as a woman. I am aware that not all women live as I do, does that mean they don't live as women?

By living according to social, cultural and linguistic notions of femininity. You may claim that you are a biological woman and adhere to none of those. However if you are happy to be regarded as a woman and referred to by female pronouns and to accept labels such as sister, daughter and mother, you have a gender as that gender is female. Social and cultural constructs exist even if we may not like them.

One thing I don't understand is why you all claim to hate gender, but hate gender neutral language, parenting etc.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:41

Well yes but we wouldn't put them in a bracket with reiki and homeopathy would we? They are worthy of our respect. We study them and consider them an important part of our society and understanding of the world.

You're. I wouldn't normally be a grammar pedant arsehole but you are the ones obsessed with linguistic accuracy.

EmilysNailVarnish · 24/02/2024 13:45

You all is doing a lot of work here. You know nothing about us as individuals. We only agree that you can only be a woman if you are female. Femininity does not equate to being a woman.

Cailleach1 · 24/02/2024 13:46

PP82 · 24/02/2024 13:00

That is just vile bigotry.

Goodness me, the dark ages want people who think anti-scientific and anti reality thoughts like this back. I do hope that I am never so gullible or credulous as to be so hornswaggled. It reminds me of zealots (religious or political), wishing to make it blasphemy to utter anything non-aligned with the ideology. Even (or especially) if that contradictory utterance is evidence based and shows the ideology to be nonsense.

People don’t change sex. Even if some ideologues try to pretend that they do. Responding with ‘bigot’ (blasphemer) doesn’t make the earth flat. If that is what you have to rely on, It just shows the lack of substance underpinning the ‘theory’.

I feel sorry for you wrt the trauma of having been assaulted by so many men.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 13:47

Im sorry, is my dyslexica and dogged adherence to reality upsetting you.

My bad.

Yes. I'm fascinated by this linguistic pattern of 'you lot' and 'you all'.

TheGreatGherkin · 24/02/2024 13:48

@PP82

Is that the same poll which also asked if transwomen who not had surgery would women be willing to share spaces with them? Is it that poll where the overwhelming majority of women said no to bepenised women?

PP82 · 24/02/2024 13:48

Within every nationality, religion or other culturally or socially constructed identity, there are huge differences between how people live, but we don't say those identities are worth nothing and are meaningless. (I personally think nationality is a meaningless identity, but that's a minority view.)

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/02/2024 13:12

I predict another 800 or so posts of posters trying to nail jelly to the wall, engaging in good faith, while this poster goes off on another epically tedious merail and demonstrates their complete lack of empathy. I'll pop back tomorrow and see how it went.
