Women's rights general conversations - Thread 7

Continuation of Thread 6.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions in the supermarket, grr"- that sort of thing).

Just seen this article in the DM. Fwiw let them have a pro-life group if they want, the fact that most of them are male is...predictable. Except, they say they had six women. In the photo I count five definite females and one person in the middle who's broad shouldered, with big hands, who couldn't possibly be in that awkward curtsey to disguise his, sorry, her height. After all skirt and lippy so has to be a woman 🤔.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-13145995/Controversial-pro-life-society-University-Manchester-founded-male-president-opposes-abortion-shares-photo-official-meeting-event-met-thousands-protesters.html

I'm so sick of the abortion debate. It's always a bunch of religious and misogynistic men shouting murder.

If they would really find it so upsetting they would look at the cause of pregnancies. Whether it's a young girl being coerced by her boyfriend, a woman raped, a married woman on the pill, a one night stand, a drunk irresponsible night, a IUD failing, a pregnancy with complications ... every scenario has 1 thing in common.

A man ejaculated inside a woman.

If they would really care about life they would make men accountable and support vasectomies and high fines for getting a woman pregnant.

But they don't because they want to control women.

They don't care about the babies. They don't care enough to do everything they can to stop abortions outside controlling women's bodies.

It's just another misogynist male group women have to fight against along with the TRA, MGTOWs, Incels, sex traffickers, porn addicts, religious fanatics,...

But women have such easy and privileged lives and men are so hated and oppressed... 🙄

Can I persuade you to go and watch the programme in this thread

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womensrights/5019790-radio-canada-french-questioning-affirmation-model

It's in French with only French subtitles but @worrieddragon has spent the weekend doing an English translation and it would be a shame for all her hard word to not be appreciated.

It's a rather sad programme about 4 young girls in Quebec who thought they were trans. Three have since destransitioned and the fourth is apparently happy with their decisions but doesn't exude much trans euphoria.

They also sent a 14 year old girl, on her own, undercover to a private GP to see what happened and let's say it wasnt a very vigorous process to get hormones.

It's well worth a watch as Canada is completely captured.

Trying to sort out all these pockets of TRAs within the civil service is going to be like Musk trying to find the errors in the Twitter code. They have literally infiltrated the system like a bug.

The WPATH files... environmentalprogress.org/big-news/wpath-files

“Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based.
But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical.
American Medical Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH. It is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine.
And yet WPATH’s internal files, which include written discussions and a video, reveal that its members know they are creating victims and not getting “informed consent.”

Victims include a 10-year-old girl, a 13-year-old developmentally delayed adolescent, and individuals suffering from schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses.

The injuries described in the WPATH Files include sterilization, loss of sexual function, liver tumors, and death.

WPATH members indicate repeatedly that they know that many children and their parents don’t understand the effects that puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries will have on their bodies. And yet, they continue to perform and advocate for gender medicine.

The WPATH Files prove that gender medicine is comprised of unregulated and pseudoscientific experiments on children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults. It will go down as one of the worst medical scandals in history.”

“Activist members of WPATH know that the so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ they provide can result in life-long complications and sterility and that their patients do not understand the implications, such as loss of sexual function and the ability to experience orgasm,” Shellenberger said. “These leaked files show overwhelming evidence that the professionals within WPATH know that they are not getting consent from children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults, or their caregivers.”

Anyone in the slightest bit surprised?

Kucinghitam · 05/03/2024 07:58

@Britinme I'm not even slightly surprised. We have been warning about this all along, but TRSOH were blithely handwaving away all concerns. Now I expect there will be some merry galloping goalposts.

Jic anyone's curious on following up that swiftly deleted thread the goady bloke posted the other day, Google 'Helen Joyce fanfic'. It'll lead you to her site and the interesting article she's written about it, with a link to Maya's thoughts on the shitstirrer.

I've not posted a link because it's important to take a moment before you click on Helen's site to cast your eyes on all of the links to gleeful tra posts.

I feel like I owe Helen Joyce an apology. I never for one second believed she was up to anything nefarious. But I failed to consider the effect that being the subject of the nasty implications would have on her. I just assumed she'd think 'tras gonna tra' and brush it off. I'm glad there were people who reached out to her.

Just read that Doritos have hired one Samantha Hudson as their new brand ambassador in Spain. This is not going to go well for them.

Samantha Hudson:

-Admitted to being a pedophiIe
-Identifies as a non-binary trans girl
-Openly mocked victims of child r*pe

Hmm. What could possibly go wrong with that? Them seems like a lovely young person.

I hadn't realised it had been so bad this past week either!

And when you do finally get to the Helen Joyce website there is two videos to watch.

I think I'm having an early night in bed with Helen Joyce tonight.

Checks watch, fuck it, its 7pm bedtime!

MouseMinge · 05/03/2024 21:58

Are each of the companies that take on a pretend woman as a brand ambassador trying to top trump each other by getting one who's even worse than the last? Dylan Mulvaney now looks like a sweet young chap who's had a few too many e-numbers compared to this utter fucking car crash.

Re France, I know that abortion was not an issue there but I love that they've done this. It highlights the issue that other allegedly civilised countries have and is, very strongly, putting women's rights front and centre. If I was French I would currently be incredibly proud to be French. Vive La France!

duc748 · 06/03/2024 00:04

I don't think France has always been in the forefront for women's rights, but yes, of course, it's a good thing.

Like many people, I don't comment on FB threads. But in a visit yesterday, I did. Newsthump, who I don't mind, actually, they are often pretty funny, had a thread satirising GC concerns, and I was rash enough to respond.

The initial responses were pretty much 50/50, but the following posts were all, you're a transphobe, you hate trans people. And I thought FB was not the kidz, these days, but old gits like me?

[Embarrassing typo in the middle there too. 😀]

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 06/03/2024 08:16

Apparently Doritos have fired Samantha after being shown the offending tweets, but they must surely have already damaged the brand's reputation quite badly. It's weird that no one thought to check out Samantha's background before making Samantha an ambassador.

But why would they check after all Samantha is a member of that small minority of very oppressed men who think they are women which means they must be a paragon of virtue and therefore no need to check coz Samantha by definition of their oppressedness must be right up there with mother Teresa.

I think that how it works.

IcakethereforeIam · 06/03/2024 12:40

Does anyone know who this is about? It seems a bit random, so I think I've missed something. I recognise the artwork it's a pastiche of. I think I saw it years ago in Edinburgh
