You may attend in person or remote viewing has been quite limited but you can request log in details from

Email [email protected]

Header should read

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

I'm glad you had your cheese discussions as it led me to the cheddar & spring onion on a muffin (not the sweet type) that currently sits alongside me. Not for long, though.

BTW, does anyone know how to pronounce Jonathan Haidt's surname? I've heard it as 'Hate' and 'Height'.

SidewaysOtter · 20/10/2023 11:28

We're in!

katmarie · 20/10/2023 11:28

We're off...

CriticalCondition · 20/10/2023 11:28

We're off!

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/10/2023 11:28

We're in!

chilling19 · 20/10/2023 11:28

In!

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/10/2023 11:28

Mid-sentence, again. 🙄

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:28

I'm in judge is talking

Rightsraptor · 20/10/2023 11:29

Are we in or off? Get your story straight, unlike the OU witnesses.

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:29

Think she is asking JM to clarify what she will talk about

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:29

Oh and on the last day they switch on JM's mic

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:30

BC always looks so zen

ickky · 20/10/2023 11:30

JM just woke up and put her mic on.

Judge doesn't want JM's oral statement to be the same as the written submissions, they want some something different.

JM think she will only be an hour.

SidewaysOtter · 20/10/2023 11:32

How the hell is she arguing that Jo only cared about HER view? It's VERY MUCH the case that those who attacked Jo only cared about THEIR views, and didn't give one shiny shit about Jo.

ickky · 20/10/2023 11:32

JM said JP believes in only HER freedom of expression.

That's funny, I must have missed the open letter from Jo tying to shut down GI debate.

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 20/10/2023 11:33

JM: both parties agree it's a case c fos, to express beliefs and not just GC beliefs (!). JP believes in fo expression but only her freedom of expression (!!). It's about politics, JP is a campaigner - nothing wrong with this - more than a academic. Her fos to be seen in this context.

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:33

I thought BC would go first have we missed his submission

CriticalCondition · 20/10/2023 11:33

Do observers get a link to the written submissions? I thought we did. Can anyone remember what happened in previous cases?

pronounsbundlebundle · 20/10/2023 11:34

Bwahahahahaha - JM has just said JP wanted freedom of speech but only for HER GC views.

Erm - GCRN was open to all? She wasn't trying to shut people down / deplatform them. Only one side does that and it's not GC.

I'm impressed she said that with a straight face to be honest.

LarkLane · 20/10/2023 11:34

JM's got to say that though. She's got nowt to work with. She can hardly say I'd like to apologise for all the self serving lying bastards my client called.

ickky · 20/10/2023 11:34

Wasn't Jo trying to get a debate going, she tried to engage, they didn't want to know. She even set up a network to debate and research.

OP posts:
Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:34

Is JM saying that the actions of the OU staff are covered by academic freedom?

ickky · 20/10/2023 11:35

Yes we did

"There was a purity attached to [Jo's] case".

WTF? Has she been sniffing the office Tippex?
