URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

I was going to read the judgement tonight but actually I might only make it halfway down the list of OU witnesses!

UtopiaPlanitia · 22/01/2024 17:51

Brilliant news! Thanks Jo and team for going through this to fight back against discrimination and to protect the rights of others.

GrumpyMenopausalScathingWombWielder · 22/01/2024 17:52

Amazing result. Well done to all involved. 🍾

I don't make my GC views public as without being outing, it would make the job I do very difficult and difficult to get another. I'm surrounded by woke. So instead I contribute to crowd justice campaigns like this and do my bit quietly. Really pleased Jo has won.

Same. Clue's in the username, innit.

CriticalCondition · 22/01/2024 17:56

Brilliant news! Thank you so much Jo for taking them on. Cases like this defend all our rights but you have to bear the brunt of it. Thank you.

fromorbit · 22/01/2024 17:58

Amazing!

A lot of scared people in the Green party leadership tonight they have three cases like this coming up.

Well done o and all the amazing people who stood with her. Lots more wins to come.

PonyPatter44 · 22/01/2024 18:12

That's fantastic news!! Well done Jo (and thanks to the tribunal members as well, who saw sense). I am so pleased for you, Jo.

allaboutthatsass · 22/01/2024 18:17

is this in any news outlets yet

RocketPanda · 22/01/2024 18:18

Jo you amazing woman, well done.

SerpentEndBench · 22/01/2024 18:20

Well done Jo!
All our fivers and tenners, every single donation makes a difference.

Ohyoudodoyou · 22/01/2024 18:20

More good news!! Well done Jo for fighting the good fight.

MarieDeGournay · 22/01/2024 18:24

I've looked through some of the Reserved Judgement - 155 pages of it! It's a litany of statements of not believing the OU witnesses, either doubting their good faith, their memories, or maybe even their veracity (but I'd have to read it more carefully to be certain about the latter).
Devastating. Clear vindication for Jo, and of 'WORIADS'.

pronounsbundlebundle · 22/01/2024 18:29

Zebracat · 22/01/2024 17:32

So pleased. Thank you for putting yourself through it , Jo. I will never forget that you endured being traumatised all over again in Watford .

One million times this. Jo, Allison, Maya, Denise, Rachel and now Roz (and more to come) are all putting themselves under unimaginable stress standing up for women's rights and child safeguarding. They are the modern day suffragettes because gender ideology is old fashioned denial of women's human rights dressed up in doublespeak

Thank you Jo. I was watching and cheering you on. When it comes to financing my child's university degree (trembles in slight fear) if she shows any interest in your subject I'll be strongly suggesting she head your way. I won't be the only middle aged Mum thinking this either.

DeanElderberry · 22/01/2024 18:34

I am so pleased - I was disappointed the judgement wasn't out in December as was hoped - it must have been agony waiting, but at least is has all come out right in the end.

duffed · 22/01/2024 19:02

At 155 pages long I can see why it took a bit longer than we had hoped!

littlbrowndog · 22/01/2024 19:06

Yay. Well done jo and her team 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🍸🍸🍸

Froodwithatowel · 22/01/2024 19:07

Wonderful news! Flowers

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 22/01/2024 19:11

EJ Young was clearly listening and hearing the same things as the observers.

if anyone is interested, “suck female cock” first appears in para 149 and makes a frequent return in subsequent paragraphs. Grin

RethinkingLife · 22/01/2024 19:32

Do we think there are mixed celebrations at Old Square Chambers this evening?

Nice 2024 write up from Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. I think we'd all agree, "His cross-examination is particularly compelling." Should we ask for an 'Endorsed by Mumsnet" symbol to be added as an accolade? Specially designed with a tweeting support wren?

Do read from para 600 onwards. The OU staff come out of this very badly

Edited

He didn't used to be the Deputy Head of Chambers did he? I do hope he's got a nice big promotion on the back of all these cases.

I'm not great at digesting massive documents I do hope the skilled among us post the good bits. 👃

SidewaysOtter · 22/01/2024 19:40

Fucking fantastic.

I'm about a quarter of the way through the Judgment and it's not easy reading for the OU. Or some of their witnesses.

I'd almost forgotten that. 😂
