''When it came to washing my body or clearing up after me, I was entirely dependent on nurses. They saw, wiped and dried every last inch of me.
A few days before my discharge, two nurses came to my bed, pulled the curtains closed for privacy and asked if I would mind telling them what it was like to be transgender.

We started chatting and at one point I said: “If you took every woman in this ward, stuck us all into stirrups and asked a gynae to take a good look, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between me and everyone.”

The nurses burst out laughing. “Oh, we know!” one of them exclaimed. “We’ve all been talking about it in the staff room. It looks just like the real thing!”'

...

'all humans begin their lives as female.'

I’m trans and fractured my spine – why don’t I belong on a women’s ward?

I look like a woman, sound like a woman and live as a woman, writes Diana Thomas. But the Conservatives believe, when in hospital, I don’t deserve the same kindness and compassion as other patients

And then everyone clapped...

Interesting comments underneath. Nobody yet to point out the nonsense about humans being female by "default", but saw one questioning if the need to be on a ward could possibly be linked to taking hormones not meant for that body!
(Which reminds me, anyone else spot the article in the telegraph this week about cross-sex hormones being linked with a much higher incidence of heart disease?)

Did they aye? Journalists can be so credulous.

You really don’t need me to tell you.

Well that never stopped a bloke did it?

theDudesmummy · 08/10/2023 16:20

What bullshit! If it had happened, which it did not, the nurses should be fired for (a) being unprofessional and (b) being shit nurses.

I reckon transwomen like this must be furious at all the self ID stuff and the fact that so much goodwill towards the plight of those who genuinely feel so at odds with their own body that they would undergo such a lot of surgery and medical treatment, and now, because of the blue haired self ID fanatics that they now are faced with extra scrutiny.

Yeah but we’re not here by accident feminist 3.0 was always going to lead to feminism 4.0. And if we can’t have feminism 4.0 we won’t have feminism 3.0 either. Eat what you ordered I guess. Remember, equality is for everyone.

What did we order?

What is this supposed to mean? Just say what you mean.

SpicyMoth · 08/10/2023 16:27

Some of the comments on that article are beyond depressing.

I might believe it now...

I hate that I know this stuff, but in my youth as an engaged reader of porn, there was a service advertised off the Euston Road called Transformations, where men (obviously!) would dress up to their heart's fantastical content, in safe and pleasant company.

That was the early 80s, and I remember it to this day.

I don't know, maybe there were phonebooth cards in the West End near to this place where these guys could get their jollies sorted by being examined by busty beauties in nurses attire, paying extra once up on stirrups for the totally authentic exclamations of "Oh,! We see these ALL the time!"

We're a far cry from that, men indulging in private, away from polite society and women in particular, and now at a whole other level of unreality, where men can literally oblige female nurses to share their space and predilictions and pecadillos, claiming there are zero trust or comfort issues, and as a result gaslighting us into the attitude that we are the bigots and phobes.

No, there's only one guilty party here.

Yes. If I worked on that ward, I'd be fucking furious at being misrepresented.

I have to question if this person was so clearly female in every way, how did the nurses know they were transgender in the first place, given it is not allowed to be referred to or written down anywhere?

I was thinking the same thing.

BatteryPoweredMammy · 08/10/2023 16:33

^^
“Oh, we know!” one of them exclaimed. “We’ve all been talking about it in the staff room….

….and asked ourselves ‘why the fuck is he in here with actual biological women?” 🙄

ZeldaFighter · 08/10/2023 16:35

How does an adult male human grow or get labia and a clitoris? If the penis is inverted to make a cavity, I get that but where and how do you get lips and a magic bean from??? Your arm???

Scrotum, and they try to incorporate the head of the penis to maintain some sort of sensation.

Results are variable.

HermioneWeasley · 08/10/2023 16:37

Of all the things that never happened, that one never happened the most.

honestly, you think they’d be embarrassed writing about their delusional fantasies for the national press.

TheirEminence · 08/10/2023 16:40

This person spent a long writing career trying to undermine feminist arguments, and their latest project is the performance element of the bigger endeavour.

Swamphag · 08/10/2023 16:41

Yes. All of these things definitely happened.
Definitely.

loislovesstewie · 08/10/2023 16:42

I'll tell you what is sad about this; the fact that some young people are going to believe that the results are this good.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 08/10/2023 16:43

The bigger story here is that this person had 2 nurses with enough time on their hands to have a cosy little chat with them. I couldn't even find 1 nurse with enough time to fetch me some water.

ditalini · 08/10/2023 16:45

This is the same person who, despite being 6ft tall, grew 36B breasts without surgery.

I've no idea what sort of growth is possible on estrogen, but I really doubt a 6ft male will be a 36.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 08/10/2023 16:04

I’ll add nurses standing around discussing their labia into the list of things that never happened

so much a case of Advanced General Pratling

Let's be honest. The idea of nurses taking breaks is a fantasy. And trust me we ain't interested in anyone's genitalia. So yes. A Gallumphing Pile of shite.

What's that expression I'm searching for... Oh yes - "Cool story bro' " Hmm

And everybody started clapping!
