Could RSS be a mishearing of REF, the OU's Research Excellence Framework panel of which JP and SE were co chairs?

meh, not up for phoning and talking to a human, personally; it's just so offensive that that should be necessary.

I don't believe the capacity issue either. I've remote attended a few of these tribunals now and there have been way more logged in listening previously.

Especially when we know full well that they can easily accommodate more observers and we didn't need the daft checks, either.

That's what sticks in my craw.

They do seem to have some form of rudimentary ID checking - maybe that's holding things up a lot?
