Rishi Sunak - "a man is a man, a woman is a woman"

..and how we shouldn't be bullied into believing somebody can be any sex that they want.

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGJcxUehh/

AIBU to want to give him a round of applause?

I know, it's convenient timing and obviously a strategy move but how good is it to hear that straight from the horses mouth when the country has spent the past god knows how long bowing down to the loud and often disturbed minority.

I still can't stand the Tories and won't be voting for them but cheers for acknowledging the insanity, Rishi.

Seems like you’re the one offended.

I am offended. I'm offended that my speech and belief in biological facts has been policed the way that it has.

What I want to know is why is the term 'trans' offensive to transgender people all of a sudden?

Seems like you’re the one offended.

I'm offended too, I'm ignoring it for this thread because the more important issue is that females want all males excluded from single sex spaces for safety reasons.

Trans women are males.

Some trans women harm women in single sex spaces.

We don't want to exclude them because they are trans , it is because they are males.

Women (adult human females) deserve to be safe.

If trans women (males ) are at risk of harm from other males then this is not a problem that women should have to solve. It is male violence (as you correctly identified) that is the problem. We are not human shields. We are fully human and have the right to say no to any male to protect our own safety and dignity.

AmazingSnakeHead · 04/10/2023 23:07

I'm not applauding, I don't need a man to validate me being a woman. What I need is a country that actually works.

Pollyputhekettleon · 04/10/2023 23:08

You English have no idea how lucky you are that you have a solid enough social and political pushback that a prime minister can say this. It wouldn't happen in Ireland! We're a long way behind the curve unfortunately.

Trans women have a much better chance of defending themselves against a 'cis' man..

Just can’t argue with batshit crazy statements like this. What a load of shite.

KevinTurveyIsMissed · 04/10/2023 23:08

Thementalloadisreal · 04/10/2023 22:54

What a horrible reply.
@JustBeKinder ’s daughter is at risk of coming to harm, not causing it.

Meanwhile cis men have always and will always intrude, attack, abuse and ignore women’s spaces.

Once again women are being goaded into in-fighting while the men fuck us over.

The data does seem to suggest that men who claim to be women present a far more serious risk than men who don’t.

AdamRyan · 04/10/2023 23:09

The Conservatives need to know which people are women to enact the plan to get us all back where we belong, pushing out babies and taking care of the elderly.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/oct/02/families-should-have-more-children-to-care-for-ageing-uk-population-minister-says

It's especially important these babies are British- shocking how many non British babies are getting born and won't do.

https://www.miriamcates.org.uk/news/our-declining-birth-rate

Luckily Jacob's taken one for the team by having six beautiful British babies. I say Jacob, obviously I mean his wife, but she barely counts. Women love having babies.

Families should have more children to care for ageing UK population, minister says

Robert Jenrick says he wants to cut care visas for migrant workers and criticises Johnson’s immigration policy

Flickersy · 04/10/2023 23:09

You can't say "trans women are not women" these days without being accused of a hate crime and threatened with arrest.

Don't be so ridiculous, it's said regularly on here and twitter for one thing.

No other politician has said it.

Completely wrong. Rosie Duffield for one.

we have become a nation where stating such a fact has become illegal

No we haven't, otherwise Rishi would have been arrested wouldn't he.

We have literally been banned from saying it

Given the amount of times you've said it on here it should be obvious to anyone with half a brain cell you haven't been banned from saying it.

Honestly OP you do spout some shite.

So trans women are at risk of male violence and women are at risk of male violence but you think the solution is to exclude trans women from the places they could be safe from the male violence that we all face.

Give your head a wobble

I haven't seen any and MN is very hot on removing posts that are transphobic.

How is it batshit crazy to point out the fact that trans women (biological males) are more able to physically defend themselves from other biological males, than a female is able to defend herself from a biological male?

Acknowledging that males are more similar in strength to each other than a female is to a male is not 'batshit crazy'. It's called science and reality.

I'm not a fool, I knew the reason the minute I heard it but the fact is he said it and that is what I'm glad about.

No other politician has said it. If they had then maybe the madness wouldn't have gone as far as it has.

But actually, to split hairs, Rishi saying "a woman is a woman" means nothing without defining women.

So trans women are at risk of male violence and women are at risk of male violence but you think the solution is to exclude trans women from the places they could be safe from the male violence that we all face.

Give your head a wobble

No you give yours a wobble.

Women want to exclude trans women from single sex spaces because they are male and pose a risk to women in the same way that every other male does.

There is now evidence of this from various sources but the most pertinent ones are the trans woman (male) raping a woman on a single sex ward and the victims of Karen White (transwoman / male) who sexually assaulted incarcerated women in a women's prison.

If transwomen are at risk from males then they will understand presumably women's concerns about this? Why don't they?

Why do they think that women are less important in terms of safety than they are?

Why don't they campaign for 3rd spaces so everyone feels safe? Or is it just that male socialisation which means that they think that women should put themselves at risk to shield some males. NO THANK YOU.

Women are too important.

My daughter is as important as my son.

This comes as a surprise no doubt to those males who have been brought up to believe that their wishes are the most important thing, Male socialisation writ large.

Ellos · 04/10/2023 23:11

Because you’re making ridiculous sweeping generalisations about the physical abilities of large groups of people.
