Rishi Sunak - "a man is a man, a woman is a woman"

..and how we shouldn't be bullied into believing somebody can be any sex that they want.

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGJcxUehh/

AIBU to want to give him a round of applause?

I know, it's convenient timing and obviously a strategy move but how good is it to hear that straight from the horses mouth when the country has spent the past god knows how long bowing down to the loud and often disturbed minority.

I still can't stand the Tories and won't be voting for them but cheers for acknowledging the insanity, Rishi.

oh stop it. you're just humiliating yourself. We are a sexually dimorphic species. Do you know how babies are made?

I want to laugh at this because it’s funny, but I fear that if I do someone will inexplicably come along and accuse me of laughing at infertile people ..

bluebeardswife7 · 05/10/2023 22:25

Sounds like a lyric from a prince song

The transphobia is evidence of itself. If you find me “boring” and “rambling” there’s really no need to reply.

the fact that you can't answer this speaks volumes. If you have evidence, stop sulking and share it. As I say, I'm willing to be convinced but it is beyond stupid to say that transphobia is evidence of itself rather than share actual evidence. Any fool can see that you don't have any evidence.

Something like that. 🤔

Great that you're laughing.

You can't answer how babies are made, though.

from reading @Tandoras view of the world, I think it's just really complicated and evidence itself.

This entire thread is transphobic. And I have pointed out many examples in my posts. My first post of the day I highlighted clearly a quintessential example of the obvious fear and hatred people on this thread have towards trans women. You are free to read through.

one person has to wear blue and one pink.

I think you've been rather brave @Tandora. But I also think you should try to see the other point of view. You have stubbornly refused to concede that women have need of single sex services and spaces. At the same time I think some who argue against you refuse to acknowledge that being trans is not a choice. Nor is it a lie - it's a reality for that person. And I agree that there's much we do not understand about being trans, and things may change as we learn more.

oh I've read all your posts. I do like a laugh. but no actual evidence of actual transphobia so please list again or people will sadly think that you're full of shit.

to be clear, I don't think that being trans is a choice and although some people will lie to get into women's spaces, I think most people who say they're trans are. But that still doesn't mean TW should be in women's spaces.

BlessedKali · 05/10/2023 22:33

IT'S OK EVERYONE IVE FIGURED IT OUT!!

basically I need to do all the feminine things i can - paint my nails, wear a dress and giggle, whilst declaring loudly, I AM A WOMAN.

And then my partner has to do all the manly manly stuff like use a chainsaw and put the bins out, and he has to declare to the gender god 'I AM MAN'

and then we run head- on into each others faces.

Thats it.

In all honesty do think this is really tricky, and I am in many senses torn. But on the whole I don’t think excluding trans people from single sex spaces is the answer. I think a lot of the fear comes from misunderstanding, and deeply conditioned prejudices . I don’t believe trans people as a group pose a threat to women’s rights and safety.

Reality does have a transphobic bias.

Saggypants · 05/10/2023 22:34

As always, the TRAs are trying to argue that all trans people are some sort of misunderstood biological marvel, conveniently ignoring the mob of creeps out there who know they're blokes but get their rocks off cross dressing and making women uncomfortable. They all fit legitimately under the 'trans' umbrella.

Instead of being up in arms about the suggestion that an unknown transwoman in a female space could make women feel unsafe, could you give us some tips on how to tell the good ones from the bad ones?

Or are we going with the 'logic' upthread - 'men can barge in and rape you anytime they want to so what's the point in trying to keep them out?'

I don’t think anything I post is going to change your view that I am full of shit 🤷🏼‍♀️. If I did I would make the time,

ArabellaScott · 05/10/2023 22:35

'refuse to acknowledge that being trans is not a choice. Nor is it a lie - it's a reality for that person'

I'm happy to acknowledge both of those things are quite possibly true, in some if not all, cases. Doesn't really matter to women, though, does it? It makes no difference if someone is 'genuine' or less genuine or a bit genuine.

I'm concerned about women's rights and women's spaces. I don't much care what a man's motivations are for 'identifying'as a woman. I couldn't actually care less how anyone 'identifies'.

No, MEN pose a threat to women. No matter what the men say or wear, or if they declare they like the colour pink and change their name to Sophie. They are still men, and they remain a potential threat to women.

the evidence says you're wrong so....we could believe a clearly naive person who appears to not give a fuck about vulnerable women or...we could use the same quality of evidence that we use to consider other important decisions. Hmm. Tricky. It's complicated isn't it?
