Rishi Sunak - "a man is a man, a woman is a woman"

..and how we shouldn't be bullied into believing somebody can be any sex that they want.

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGJcxUehh/

AIBU to want to give him a round of applause?

I know, it's convenient timing and obviously a strategy move but how good is it to hear that straight from the horses mouth when the country has spent the past god knows how long bowing down to the loud and often disturbed minority.

I still can't stand the Tories and won't be voting for them but cheers for acknowledging the insanity, Rishi.

Of course it isn’t. Normal people have a coherent description of what a woman is, trans activists have, at best, a meaningless circular one.

Most refuse to even define what they mean by women, or just give what they know is the dishonest circular description.

To prove this, what do you mean by “woman”?

Oh “normal people” again?

Whattodowithit88 · 05/10/2023 00:13

At least someone has said it!!
I know his just coming up with everything and anything to be re-elected, but at least someone had the balls to state the obvious.

The balls to state the obvious?

Again, if it were so obvious, it really wouldn’t need stating.

Have you ever read The Emperor's New Clothes?

Sometimes a society can be so swept up in magical groupthink it is actually necessary for the obvious to be pointed out.

I notice Tandora is picking which posts to reply to (again).

Instead of the sensationalist words of a couple of wildly controversial characters, why don’t you go have a conversation in the real world with an ordinary trans person and ask them about their lives.

The last time I did that it was with a male member of staff asserting that the women upset at him using their showers were in the wrong.

I’m happy to say that not only was he escorted out of our office by security but that any future reference will state that he was sacked for gross misconduct.

T1Dmama · 05/10/2023 00:17

I don’t like him…
I feel sad for society these days…. People identifying as a cat….
its fashionable now in schools to be trans or gay… and even more worrying it’s ‘sleigh’ to self harm! With kids encouraging each other and sharing photos of themselves self harming on WhatsApp etc….
toktok and other such social media make all this seem trendy!

LizzieW1969 · 05/10/2023 00:17

To address the actual thread title, I don’t trust Sunak as far as I could throw him, on any issue. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t agree with what he said in this instance.

Tandora · 05/10/2023 00:11

Oh “normal people” again?

Yes, normal men, the ones who aren’t telling people that they are women and then invading female spaces.

Tandora · 05/10/2023 00:09

who have a psychological condition that leads them to claim to be women

Similar to the invented “psychological condition” that supposedly led people to “believe” they are gay, I suppose ?

Your views are seeping in prejudice and ignorance. This could not be clearer when you distinguish yourself as being “a normal person” in comparison.

No, gay men really are attracted to other men.

Transwomen are not actually female.

Your repeated homophobia is noted, but well done for not yet playing the racist card.

Stop using homosexuality like this, it's disgusting. The two states of being are NOT related. It's just as bad as when TRAs went through a phase of comparing themselves to Rosa Parks.

It's all the more offensive cos young gay males are having their homosexuality warped into dysphoria because they do 'girly' things. All those shameful young gays doing ballet & wearing whatever clothes they like or enjoying make-up - so embarrassing not being all manly & shit. Fear not their brokenness! They can be fixed! They were actually a girl all along! Yay!

Your head has to be deep in the sand to ignore the many many facets of this entire, fantastically complex, situation. Reducing it down to 'pretending TW don't exist' is ridiculous & a minority view.

Not all transwomen are rapists.

Thementalloadisreal · 05/10/2023 00:27

I do wonder if there’s a dadsnet somewhere with the patriarchy getting very upset that a trans man might be allowed to walk into their boardroom and start ordering people around, taking their pay, seducing their receptionists.

Funny how this media sensationalising of an issue often results in frightened women in-fighting. The men just carry on as they please.

Apart from the sexism inherent in that post you’ve highlighted the fact women are more at risk from men than the opposite.

Which is why men don’t care about women in their spaces, but female trans men are still more at risk too

Probably should stop lumping then all together with fear and ignorance then.

Good god, I’m being ironic ffs.

And I have always said that women are at risk from men! That’s not a “gotcha”. Male violence is the problem I’ve said it 100 times.

But it matters that at the root of the patriarchy, it’s more acceptable for a female to take on male traits but not vice versa.

SatsumaNightmare · 05/10/2023 00:34

I find it bloody weird that people use the argument ‘they’re only saying it because it’s the popular opinion’ - that’s precisely what a government should be doing, reflecting the opinion of the majority. That’s what democracy is.

lifeturnsonadime · 05/10/2023 00:36

Thementalloadisreal · 05/10/2023 00:28

I know that’s my literal point!!

But just like some men are rapists so are some trans women that's how A WOMAN WAS RAPED IN A NHS SINGLE SEX WARD BY A TRANS WOMAN THEN TOLD THAT COULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO MAN THERE.

Yet you don't think that women deserve safeguarding from the trans women who are rapists. That's OK so long as women act as human shields to trans women.

Given that trans women are vulnerable minority I find it amazing that so many of them have managed to go on to harm women. So I did some research and the stats say that trans women have a similar pattern of criminality to men.

https://womansplaceuk.org/2020/12/16/fair-play-for-women-uncover-new-crime-data/

So I can only conclude that women (and by that I mean adult human females), to you , are just collateral damage to the males who identify as trans who turn out to be rapists or sex offenders.

My question to you is why don't you care about this? Why do you think women should be collateral damage to these males?

Fair Play for Women uncover new crime data - Woman's Place UK

Fair Play for Women has uncovered new data showing that transwomen in England and Wales exhibit a similar pattern of criminality to men

You’re not making much sense but we’re not talking about traits - boardrooms are for both sexes btw

Men can do feminine things but they still can’t change sex, nor should it mean access to single sex spaces and sports

It's almost like there's a power imbalance between males and females that doesn't change with new pronouns.

Creepygardengnome · 05/10/2023 00:44

This whole thing about "female-only spaces"... I'm sorry, but if a man is so f'd up that he decides to sexually assault a woman in a public toilet, he will just ignore the sign on the door and do it anyway. It's very easy to slip into a toilet when no-one's watching (there is no proper continuous surveillance in the majority of public places, even if there is CCTV) and wait for a potential victim to come in. This unfortunately happened to a friend of mine in a female toilet – no-one had noticed the (male-presenting) man come in and he hid in a cubicle. Someone who is sick enough to commit rape will be unlikely to think 'Oooh this space is female only. Oh well, better not enter then.'

Likewise, who's to say that, even if a space were truly "(biological) female only" it would be safe? Yes, there is a chance you would be sexually assaulted by an opportunist man pretending to be trans...

(which by the way I think we need to acknowledge is fundamentally different to a true trans woman – I imagine that the majority of "trans" sexual offenders don't actually privately identify as trans and that, statistically, the proportion of true trans women who are also sexual offenders is astronomically low, just because neither group makes up a particularly large proportion of the population and a small percentage multiplied by a small percentage makes an even smaller percentage)

... but you could just as well get sexually assaulted by a biological woman in that "safe space"? There are far more stories out there of female sex offenders than there are of "trans" ones.

Sorry for the bleak post, which now that I've read it back essentially outlines we're doomed regardless!

JockTamsonsBairns · 05/10/2023 00:46

Oh come on, Op.

Sunak is desperate. He's at the point where he'll say absolutely anything to get him a few votes. It's populism in action.
Sunak couldn't give two shiny shites about women.

For the love of fuck, don't fall for this.

I live in Sunak's constituency. He checks what way the wind's blowing, then follows it.

There are two of you who have used the term "we". Quite honestly, I can't believe what I've just read from you and it's similar to the gaslighting and minimising from the other poster. I find these very strange thoughts for fellow women to have.
