Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

I'd make a crap barrister. I wouldn't be able to argue that stating biological sex is immutable makes trans people feel like it doesn't include them with a straight face.

ickky · 05/10/2023 15:31

Where is JM going with this? Trying to show JP as anti free speech if it disagrees with her view?

Chrysanthemum5 · 05/10/2023 15:32

JM needs to speak up a bit we can hear JP fine

Mmmnotsure · 05/10/2023 15:32

JM You have the right to believe that sex is immutable
JP Yes
JM And others have the right to believe the opposite
JP Yes.

Also JP
We could even have a debate about it. [ :) ]

Has the session started again? I've been out this morning and am trying to log in. I'm still getting the 'waiting for the conference host' message.

ickky · 05/10/2023 15:33

Yes it says 2 waiting in the lobby.

The OU is losing -whether they win this case or not.
The questioning/ treatment of JP looks bad and certainly doesn't fit with their mission statments or press about this case.

VWdieselnightmare · 05/10/2023 15:36

Having been through my own courtroom nightmare (not GC related) I'm also all too aware that while Jo's sworn in she can't talk about the case to anyone else. Not her partner, not her lawyer, not her friends. It was agony when I was going through it. You take a pummelling from a vicious barrister going for the jugular who tells you all day you're a liar and a schemer and when you say one thing you mean another and twists every word and email into something you don't recognise. I really began to think I was going mad: the most mundane and innocuous emails were turned as. weapons against me. And then you have to leave your phone and laptop turned off and avoid contact with all the people who are wishing you well in case you say something you ought not to. Anyone taking this kind of action on is very courageous.

Farmageddon · 05/10/2023 15:37

Fuck it sounds like an awful ordeal to go through, I hope she's ok.

Just a heads up, her stretch target still needs a little gardening if anyone is able.

Sisterpita · 05/10/2023 15:39

I think the OU barrister may regret going down this route.

Was just thinking same, that backfired quite spectacularly!

Chrysanthemum5 · 05/10/2023 15:42

This line of questioning is ridiculous - how can the barrister ready out the TRA words about sucking girl dick and think that's going to seem reasonable

I was a witness in an employment tribunal, and i was petrified about being cross examined.
My boss said all you have to do is tell the truth. 🤨
Yeah, right.

Luckily, the Chairman threw the whole case out, so i was spared the ordeal.

I'm so sorry to hear about your own experience. It sounds incredibly traumatising.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 05/10/2023 15:47

OU counsel is being quite nasty actually. I know it's her job, but good grief 'you say in your little... paragraph.' Completely unnecessary.

ickky · 05/10/2023 15:47

The term transgender was absolutely not in the lexicon in the 1990's. What is she trying to prove.

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 05/10/2023 15:48

JP I am a same-sex attracted lesbian. To be told or suggested as Stonewall campaigns that transwomen can be lesbian is homophobic/ lesbophobic as it doesn't recognise my same-sex attraction.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 05/10/2023 15:48

Absolutely. It was transvestite or transsexual!

CriticalCondition · 05/10/2023 15:48

Even I know Diva is a magazine!

ickky · 05/10/2023 15:49

I am not a lesbian, but even I have heard of Diva Magazine.

It was horrible at the time, but we/ I won. It's extraordinarily intense at the time. And I had a very small bundle to deal with. A bundle of 1000 pages is unimaginable. It's why everyone needs breaks every 90 minutes or so, because of the intensity.

There have been little digs like that from the beginning.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 05/10/2023 15:50

I'm so sorry you had to go through that @VWdieselnightmare , it sounds awful. Flowers

Sisterpita · 05/10/2023 15:51

She likes “men in dresses” hopefully JP will get the opportunity to explain what AGP is.

CriticalCondition · 05/10/2023 15:53

Another cock-sucking reference.
