Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

If it goes to appeal and Jo wins doesnt that set a precedence or something. If i remember correctly from Maya's ET. So more £ & time but better in the end?

Exactly the impression I've got too. Putting access to justice even further out of reach of the average woman employee.

18 witnesses and the cost of court time.

What was the ruling on costs in other significant cases before?

Interesting to see the OU take that risk.

It's definitely about removing access to recourse for women even if they have a legitimate and reasonable case.

I've been for a scan and had some lunch and still nothing.

On a lunch break from my all day meeting. Sound like I’m not missing much. In the corporate world scheduling of this kind would be done online with everyone commenting on a spreadsheet in sharepoint or similar and then you only need to do conflict resolution in person. Job done, next?

For hearings the lawyers would usually come up with a proposed timetable based on how long they want with each witness and for submissions and would propose that to the judge. I don't do ET work but I've never seen anything like this before.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:32

Waiting for the conference host to join again.

CriticalCondition · 04/10/2023 13:35

Waiting for the judge to add 5 minutes (and counting) to every single time in her timetable.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:36

Finally starting five minutes late so timetable now already five minutes out of whack.

CriticalCondition · 04/10/2023 13:36

Oh here we go, a revised timetable for this afternoon.

Melissamelisante · 04/10/2023 13:36

I'm in and she's still chatting 'minutes'

Ameanstreakamilewide · 04/10/2023 13:36

Do some god damn work, woman!

ickky · 04/10/2023 13:37

Battery run out on BC's mic, dithering now looking for a spare.

OP posts:
LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:38

Someone has gone to look for a spare something - sound so quiet I couldn't hear. Please be a spare mic!

ickky · 04/10/2023 13:38

Justin the clerk has sent in new batteries.

OP posts:
LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:39

Why are they running on batteries?? 😂

Ameanstreakamilewide · 04/10/2023 13:39

It's like a Marx Brothers plot, and would be funny if it wasn't so bloody serious.

AnotherCuppaIWontDrink · 04/10/2023 13:39

I can’t tell if she’s a secret TERF working so this gets kicked up a level so it can set a precedent, a raving TRA who can’t stand this being brought to court at all, or genuinely one of the most inept people we’ve come across (and frankly in this arena there seems to be plenty of competition for ‘most inept’)

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:39

Jo starting evidence, 9 mins late now due to dithering delays...

Ameanstreakamilewide · 04/10/2023 13:39

Unfortunately, i think it's definitely the latter.

ickky · 04/10/2023 13:40

I think JP is about to be the first witness, but don't hold your breath.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:40

Judge's screen has now gone 'again' - Justin en route to assist...

ickky · 04/10/2023 13:41

Judge just told Justin that her screen has gone.

CriticalCondition · 04/10/2023 13:41

And yes, the witness 'stand' is the table in front of the window on the very far side of the room so the witness is a tiny black silhouette the size of a postage stamp.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 04/10/2023 13:41

'Gone' to top itself, i reckon.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 13:42

Pausing three and a half seconds in for Judge to swap screens.
