Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

They will be a non downloadable link to the witness statements provided for the observers, but no bundle. Judge suggests people who want to view the bundle should attend in person.

And the timetable is gone already....

ickky · 04/10/2023 12:13

I must have mis heard re the bundle

FFS

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 12:14

But not paper bundles (OU) - Judge says anyone wishing to view can attend in person.

If that's a response to me posting the complaints link, I provided it from the perspective of a lack of genuine open justice (limited numbers, poor AV quality), not having learned lessons in using technology from previous similar tribunals etc, not the legal side of things.

Not disagreeing with you at all!

ickky · 04/10/2023 12:14

A extra long lunch suggested by the Judge, seeing as no time has been wasted so far.....

How? Are they planning overflow rooms?

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 12:14

Closing for early lunch and restarting at 1.30pm

ickky · 04/10/2023 12:15

No @RethinkingLife Someone phoned and asked on Monday and they said no.

A break for lunch?? No one's actually done any work yet??

SerpentEndBench · 04/10/2023 12:18

Christ if I spent all morning micromanaging the next fortnight's timetable then asked for a long old lunch break my boss would have a fit of the conniptions.

Madcats · 04/10/2023 12:19

Shouldn't they have done all this on Monday so that they could get started today?

So now it's lunchtime and we still don't know the judge/panel's pronouns.

Now I'm thinking I did! Observers definitely due to be able to access something non-downloadable via a link from solicitors, but to view more/all need to attend in person.

I'm sure i'd get a 🤨 from my manager.

CriticalCondition · 04/10/2023 12:20

It's not really lunch. It seems to be to unpack and sort out the physical bundle. I think physical copies of some of the electronic documents have to be inserted into the paper bundle.

RealityFan · 04/10/2023 12:22

The judge is softly spoken and can't be heard easily? Gosh!

CriticalCondition · 04/10/2023 12:28

Thanks for the TT link. I was confused too about which bundle was going to be available to online observers. It seems it's the witness statement bundle only. Not the documents bundle. That's only available in physical form to observers in the building.

Today Tribunal Tweets were in court. Judge Young asked both counsels for their pronouns, which, given the context of this case, looks partisan and deliberately provocative. Tribunal Tweets have not yet been given permission to live tweet- if it’s denied, that would be a serious concern. Thank goodness Jo has Ben Cooper to represent her.

Apologies for being late to the party.

Did anyone report what the answers to the pronoun question were? I didn't see it mentioned on Tribunal tweets.

Ah sorry. Just seen Madcats comment

LipbalmOrKnickers · 04/10/2023 12:32

We could hardly hear anyone on the benches yesterday @FannyCann, only the EJ so I didn't hear the responses.

She's crap with names and titles too.

But fine with pronouns🤷‍♀️🤯

Janie143 · 04/10/2023 12:39

Running down both the time and money resources. Its almost like Judge wants it to go to appeal

Exactly the impression I've got too. Putting access to justice even further out of reach of the average woman employee.
