Reader’s Note;

The fuckwittery is very strong on this thread. However, the tactic of guilt by association is quite commonly used however to portray women attending a Let Women Speak rally.

The way it has been used here is also not uncommon.

Firstly vague accusations that are blanket generalisations abound. Secondly the falsity that any person can be excluded from attending an open mic rally
open to the public if they have not acted in any potential harmful way at the time.

Lastly, the circular accusations and the false claim to have provided information when nothing has been provided in any understandable manner.

This has been an excellent live demonstration of these dishonest tactics by posters who will claim they are righteous and have moral high ground. Really, it is fuckwittery and dishonesty.

The muppets who Irish GCs don't care are far right and wondering if Blessedkalis belief that all speech should be heard extends to their racist, homophobic rhetoric

Free speech is not the same as 'all speech should be heard'

Were these mystery people today speaking about racism and homophobia?

Abhannmor · 16/09/2023 18:31

We're all shit sick of this old guilt by association mindrot quite frankly.

Russell Brand has been accused of sexual abuse and a photo has popped up online - Brand hugging Owen Jones. Much as I loathe Jones I feel guilty about my reaction to this picture. After all there has been no mention of him in this connection whatsoever. So I won't share it.

And this is the kind of half arsed puerile ' logic" that has rowed the Irish left up shit creek in a barbed wire canoe. Oh the church has a problem with puberty blockers? They must be good then!

And so on ad absurdum.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:32

This whole twitter thread is worth a look - shows that the majority of protestors were men. So many angry men.

I didn't expect anything different.

Yes, and Lenin’s head on a pink/Blue striped placard.
Just why?

The marxists/leninists were rather fascistic - the dictatorship of the proletariat. And really rather good at silencing, and just plain exterminating, those who disagreed with them.

Tell me why that is an excellent ideology to support trans-ideology?

The Soviet Union stands for the completely avoidable death and suffering of millions of innocent people. If I see someone waving a Soviet flag I know for certain that:

  1. They are ill-informed and happy to advertise the fact.
  2. They share values with the likes of Putin.

Hypocrisy, manipulation of language, purges in university and politics, public confessions, public denunciations, erasing of controversial figures from public life, removal and revision of non-compliant literature, restriction of acceptable topics and styles in the world of art, control by fear... these were the bread and butter of Soviet life. Does any of it ring a bell?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:33

They organised KJK's event?

Rotterdam · 16/09/2023 18:33

The TRAs have no arguments.

All they can do is smear women engaging in peaceful protest as Nazis/fascist/right wing etc. They are aware that most of us are disillusioned lefties.

It’s the same old trope rolled out again and again.

Could say the same

I think you know that is not what I said. I specially asked if the views of such individuals should have an unopposed platform.

Helleofabore · 16/09/2023 18:38

And who is Gavin Pepper in relation to the organisation of the events of today?

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 18:38

What I am gathering:

Mystery people (?), who once burned refugees in tents (evidence?), were speaking today in a rascist and homophobic manner (evidence?), and myself and everyone else on this thread is responsible for the mystery people, because we permitted them to 'stand by us'(how?). No evidence provided of any of the previous accusations.

Meanwhile, there is plenty of evidence that men chose to drown out sexual abuse survivors and women talking about their rights. The same group of dominating men were flying flags from an ACTUAL totalitarian state which has killed MILLIONS of people. But lets just ignore that.

Edited

Its really preposterous. We're at the point when it's a full scale war on women, whether the weaponised attempt by the naive blue hairs and sinister manbun beardies on Twitter chomping at the bit to cancel Róisín Murphy, or the incels out for the day with their transmaiden carers who will get euphoric, screaming abuse at Kath Stock and Maya Forstater one day, and the less well known women of Ireland today.

And all the other lot have got is unsubstantiated slurs of "you hang out with Nazis and fascists".

And as usual, crickets and tumbleweed from uncivil society.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:41

Could say the same

That angry men want to drown out a group of women talking about their sex based oppression by men? Well I'm sure you know what these people are like.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:42

I think you know that is not what I said

Then they didn't "roll into your town and set up a rally", did they? Do keep up.

They are not mystery men to Irish people. Where this event took place

I posted the evidence related to the tent burning.

I did not suggest they spoke their bile today. I asked you if you believe they have a right to say anything they wish unopposed.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:43

You'll have to imagine the quote marks.

You keep up. I asked if they did turn up to your town spouting their bile would you happily stand aside and leave them to it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:44

This is an open mic event for women to speak and be heard about sex based oppression. Are you unfamiliar with the concept of letting women speak @Flounder2022 ?

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 18:45

Flounder2022 · 16/09/2023 18:43

And instead of confronting them, protestors went for the women, who were not associated with them, and were just there to speak? (Clue's in the name: 'Let Women Speak'. )

And now you're here, still berating women, instead of dealing with whomever these people are that you have a problem with.

Curious.

Helleofabore · 16/09/2023 18:48

So men were in the crowd, they didn’t speak, and somehow women are to blame?

Do you understand just how misogynistic your accusations are?

You are accusing women of being fascists because men turned up, they didn’t speak, they listened, they hold a political view that you don’t agree with but it is women’s fault that they turned up to listen. To a free to the public event. That any female with any political view point, even one who will speak to support trans people, is welcome there speak at.

Have I got it right?

MargotBamborough · 16/09/2023 18:48

I haven't seen any specific coverage of this event, but I would say the same principle applies to this event as to previous Let Women Speak events:

If you are going to accuse your opponents of being allied with Nazis, you should make sure that the behaviour of those on your own side isn't worse than that of the people you are claiming are Nazis. Because otherwise, that would make you...worse than Nazis.

It wasn't the alleged Nazis who fractured a 70 year old woman's skull in Auckland, was it?

YES! it's so bizarre. If you have a problem with these people and their ideas then go and confront them about it. DISCUSS it with them.

Were they platformed? What did they say?

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 18:49

Flounder2022 · 16/09/2023 18:07

It's safe to say on the issue of trans people we disagree. So let remove that from the conversation for a moment

The individuals I named earlier speak quite freely on some or all of these:

Ireland is full. Migrants and bogus asylum seekers are raping women daily. Irish women live in fear of unvetted migrants roaming in packs in our towns and cities

Anto abortion and gay marriage

Anti vax

If they rolled in to your town and set up a rally to speak on any of these would you be happy for them to do so unopposed?

For goodness' sake.

They are not us! Away and chastise THEM on wherever they hang out! Whatever the group is you're talking about, they have absolutely nothing to with the women here, on this thread, on this board.
