You keep up. I asked if they did turn up to your town spouting their bile would you happily stand aside and leave them to it.

They didn’t speak though. They were in the crowd listening.

Maaate · 16/09/2023 18:49

Why weren't the oh so morally pure and virtuous mra's not protesting the fash?

Is it because they are 2 cheeks of the same arse, men who just want to spoil shit for women?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:44

This is an open mic event for women to speak and be heard about sex based oppression. Are you unfamiliar with the concept of letting women speak @Flounder2022 ?

I am. And I believe I have the right to challenge or oppose things I fundamentally disagree with. So when the lovely folks I named earlier arrived in my town and marched on accommodation for refugees and stoked up fear I stood against them and shouted louder than they could.

But interestingly no one will answer the question as to whether you would do the same.

because it's none of your fucking business what I would or wouldn't do.

TBH no, I would not go out and march and 'stand against them'.

I would be too scared.

I don't attend any protests anymore, although I did often as a younger woman, partly because idiots like that turn up, but mostly because women like me - leftleaning, boring middle aged women, are labelled 'fash' and threatened with and sometimes actually attacked, by young men in balaclavas.

Happy?

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 18:52

Do you want to hear my positions on other irrelevant political issues? Brexit? Factory farming? How about the poll tax? Have you the slightest idea how bloody rude you are?!

They were nothing to do with the event. What law could have been enacted to exclude them from being in the crowd?

Please, again be specific.

What Irish law could women have used to have them removed from a public space?

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 18:53

You have no right to compel me or anyone else to do anything. This is a thread about WOMENS RIGHTS, WOMEN SPEAKING, WOMENS EVENTS.

You have come on here, tried to make us out to be villains, and been proud that you drowned the voices out of sexual abuse survivors.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:53

"They didn’t speak though. They were in the crowd listening."

@Flounder2022

Helle has answered you. They also didn't set up the event, and unless you have evidence that they were specially invited, I imagine they just turned up like anyone else.

DerekFaker · 16/09/2023 18:53

Flounder2022 · 16/09/2023 18:35

Could say the same

A photo showing all the men at the back of the crowd really doesn't show 'the same'.

And the names of the other people. You have given one so far.

Did any of them speak?

Did any of them do anything but listen?

Maaate · 16/09/2023 18:54

So as I understand

Group A arrange an event

Group B are opposed to this event and arrange a protest

Group C decide they are going to turn up as it would annoy Group A and B

Group A ignore Groups B and C and carry on with their event

Group B also ignore Group C as it's easier to carry on attacking Group A, despite Group B saying Group C are dangerous

Somehow this is the fault of Group A

To simplify it:

Everything is women's fault. All of it.

irishfeminist · 16/09/2023 18:57

I was there. Maybe I was standing next to one of those men unknowingly and if a photo was taken I could be accused of fascism but you know what? None of them spoke. They were there because the event is open to all. I'm aware that people like that will latch on for entirely different reasons and I ignore them and distance myself from them and that's all I or anyone can do.

It's not working any more your childish logic and smears. And you know it, which is why you sound a bit desperate.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 18:58

Exactly what happened in Melbourne too, @Maaate. Spooky!

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 18:59

Ah, but see, if you sat next to a fascist on the bus you were effectively allying yourself with them. True fact.

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 18:59

Buses are fascists.

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 19:00

I like big busses, and I cannot lie.

DerekFaker · 16/09/2023 19:00

Ah yes, Melbourne.

So you're unfamiliar with the concept of letting women speak.

Now that you've come across it what do you think of it as a concept?

Do you think it should be allowed or do you think those women should be drowned out by men who don't want them to speak, which is what seems to have happened today?

Is letting women speak one of the things that you fundamentally disagree with?

You are here making absurd demands that you expect women to answer to be judged by you.

You then declare those women’s guilt because they won’t comply to your absurd demands.

you think you have some moral high ground here and yet, you have nothing. Nothing but misogynistic accusations.

Oh My God Wow GIF by reactionseditor

But, what if the fash were only there for the TRA protesters.

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 19:01

Angry man-children wave banners of genocidal dictator states, and shout over the voices of abuse survivors in order to silence them, whilst going around accusing everyone else of being 'fascists'.

Looks pretty fucking mental from the outside tbh.

Maaate · 16/09/2023 19:02

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 18:59

Buses are fascists.

Only if it's running on time

ArabeIIaScott · 16/09/2023 19:03

You know what it's like, you wait for ages and then Lenin, Stalin and Mao all turn up at once.
