Nice try. That photo is not from yesterday.

Not yesterday but it was from one of Keen's previous anti-trans events in Dublin.

My mistake.

Yes I know yesterday's anti-trans event had one "token" teen girl speak at it. But come on, literally every other person speaking and supporting was middle aged or elderly.

The LGBT people and allies however, are made up of a varied age range including large numbers of the younger generations.

I know it can be hard to accept, but attitudes towards gay and trans people are improving as each generation passes. People are standing up to bigotry.

And we are back to the 'you're all old and you're going to die' argument.

Risible.

And a photo from yesterday's event I saw on Twitter. We can see a gender critical man "letting women speak".

As usual, it's a case of "let women speak, but only the ones who have the same views as we do on trans people".

If you're going to post photos, at least make sure they are what you are claiming they are.

The incident in that photo did not take place in Dublin yesterday.

Edited to fix typo.

More lies.

The events are open mics to Let Women Speak. Stop calling them 'anti trans'. That is libel.

Another reader note:

Currently at the moment in the USA it is young women who are making huge impacts in both awareness and law.

It is the young women who give testimony to the very direct and negative impacts of the consequences of the prioritisation of gender over sex where sex matters. In sports and in medical treatment.

The treatment of these young women has been widely documented and share. The violence, the abuse, the threats. What young woman wants that from the group deceiving the world that they, the group, are the most tolerant, kind, and compassionate.

Just as it was Kiera Bell in the UK who has made some of the greatest impact across the world with her brave court case. And it is the young women active in their sports who are writing to their sporting organisations to give their testimonies that have caused the wind back of UK sporting policies. Those sporting women are not necessarily making their views public, they have seen what happens, but they have voiced their concerns.

This is an inconvenient reminder for some activists who would like those facts to be forgotten. Much of the power has come from young women finding their voice and using it however they feel they can.

This wax the first KJK event to take place in ROI.

It was pro women.

KJK came on the invitation of Irish women’s groups. It was organised by Irish Women’s groups

Don't be letting facts get in the way of a good story.

So, another claim that you have got wrong?

Really? Well… there is a surprise!

Maaate · 17/09/2023 11:57

So we have xenophobia and ageism from the MRAs as well as the usual misogyny.

Carry on telling us who you really are LizaBizza.

Out of interest, what is the context of this image please?

A gish gallop is a chance to counter arguments that sometimes go unchallenged and also point out some of the tactics used.

Every one of these tired and weak 'arguments' has been taken apart on here many times before.

We are able to keep demonstrating for any lurkers the lies, misrepresentations and prejudices that underpin them all. For as long as it takes.

Do keep them coming.

LizaBizza · 17/09/2023 11:58

If it really was a feminist event where women speak about women's issues, they would be talking about various topics.

But it always seems to be about trans people...

Wanting to protect single-sex spaces is not anti-trans. It is about protecting women's rights to safety, fairness and dignity. Such a shame that TRAs can't recognise that women actually have rights and that we are not willing to give them up.

You have no idea what they were talking about, do you?

VaddaABeetch · 17/09/2023 12:00

Could you quote some anti trans statements from yesterday? I was stewarding right up beside the speakers & heard every word.

I have no idea but Liza pulled it off twitter without actually reading the description which stated that it occurred at a previous event, so not Dublin.

Maaate · 17/09/2023 12:02

I must admit, I'm enjoying the flailing.

"Yeah, but what about...?"

Really? Most of the speakers were speaking about their own experiences and had nothing to do with trans.

That should be no bother for Liza. I believe it is all available on youtube. Shouldn't be hard to find the evidence.

Readers note:

Let Women Speak is an open mic event that prioritises female speakers, whatever their opinions. There have been several documented trans supportive speakers who have spoken. And one male who assaulted a woman speaking to steal their opportunity and who attempted to damage the microphone when they were stopped by security.

Each time a woman who spoke supporting trans people has spoken they have been videoed attempting to steal or damage equipment. Yet, the policy still stands.

There have been many ‘trans supportive’ speakers, probably the majority. Those women however speak to also campaign that women and girls are also fully considered where there is a need.

If a female person who wants to speak about supporting trans people unconditionally, they can. Bizza here is either ignorant of that policy or is out and out lying. It doesn’t matter which.
