It’s a bold, brave move for her and I hope she gets some good vocal support. She developed in the musical powerhouse of late 80s/early 90s Manchester and had all the camp theatrics (and evidently still does) of a mixed clubbing crowd. She’s a strong, charismatic, unique woman and is speaking her mind. Let’s see what happens. I’m sure she won’t give a flying fuck if she gets some flack. Good on yer Roisin!

I'm a therapist already seeing the effects of young girls growing up into women with long term issues of osteoporosis, bad fashion decisions (please ban 24/7 use of flip flops!).

I'm dreading seeing this new wholly avoidable issue in years to come.

I don't think those not invested in this subject realise how brave it is to do what Roisin has just done. She's got fucking balls, and no, she's still a woman, lol.

The tirade against her will be toxic and torrential. From her record company and PR staff and close friends, to her trans ally fans, and the slurry of TRAs online she'll never know.

Right now the pressure to recant will be suffocating. I dearly hope she can come up for air.

I really hope it is actually her official account - I'm not on twitter, but given that the screenshot in the OP has her name spelled without fadas, and no picture of her I'm not sure..hope I'm wrong though.

I've Googled Roisin Murphy Twitter...her feed shows no such statement. Sadly, fake news.

I think it was taken from her personal facebook account and then paraded around twitter by some man who dresses up as a kind of a lion clown hybrid.
