Confirmed this morning.

www.theargus.co.uk/news/23699795.eddie-izzard-run-labour-mp-candidate-brighton/

This is my local constituency so I have Tweeted Eddie asking if women in Brighton & Hove can rely on Eddie's support in our bid to secure the option of single sex rape crisis therapy.

Let's see what the response is.

@IcakethereforeIam it's a one-man show, so Izzard is taking on all the roles in Hamlet...

Including Yorick?

Okay, I admit I'm curious now. I'm wondering how he's going to stab and sword fight himself? Is he just going to recite the play, but with voices?

Fingers crossed 🤞 for an Autumn election. Don't want the side gig to get in the way of Eddie's main career. Assuming, of course, that he wins the selection.

Hamletta

lentilrice · 14/12/2023 13:04

What a vile thread.

SinnerBoy · 14/12/2023 13:10

Why's that?

ArabeIIaScott · 14/12/2023 13:17

"'beautified' is a vile phrase"

BezMills · 14/12/2023 14:01

I think he has the chops and the chutzpah to do it as a one man show. I probably am busy that night, wouldn't be able to watch it

AutumnCrow · 14/12/2023 15:40

I saw Macbeth at the Edinburgh Fringe as a student in 1982. There was a cast of three people. The Cambridge Experimental Theatre. Now that was avant-garde.

Which part? All the posts? The OP? Rather than doing a drive-by telling off, maybe you could actually specify?

IcakethereforeIam · 14/12/2023 16:12

Him/her-let!

They's a big ....., if they can't hack it how's they going to cope in politics?

RandySavage · 14/12/2023 17:47

The thing is Eddie is actually very clever and talented. I’d have loved to see him do a one man Hamlet before he went all odd.
Back in the days when he was (intentionally) funny he often used to perform conversations between two or even three people. His timing and body language made it hilarious.

Im starting to think that someone who loves him needs to do an intervention.

Women who have been raped or sexually abused in Brighton Pavilion question prospective MP about the lack of single sex provision for rape / sexual abuse survivors in Brighton pavilion.

The prospective MP refuses to acknowledge these women.

Anyone who discusses this on social media is 'vile'?

Women asking for their legal, sex-based rights as women to be upheld is 'vile'?

Eddie Wassard's dreams are dashed AGAIN. Woohoo!

PronounssheRa · 17/12/2023 15:04

Good.

Shall we have a sweep for the next constituency on his shopping list?

There's some good pre Xmas news. You can't just parachute yourself into a constituency you feel is most likely to elect you and guarantee a win. Well done Brighton Labour people.
