Continuation of Thread 5.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions in the supermarket, grr"- that sort of thing).

I think Corbyn had the right idea with the many, not the few. A principle the Labour Party seem to have forgotten, in more ways than one.

The comments on that reddit thread were making me tic. The constant use of cis and AFAB. Stop it! We're women, we weren't assigned and it is more than alright to centre our experiences in discussion of hrt and menopause because it is about us and not the f-ing penis brigade!

It makes me angry that so many women are allowing their needs to be subjugated to men's in the name of the "right sort of feminism", but mostly the anger comes second to a real sadness that we've been duped again.

I've just looked at my Glinner email and saw that Sarah Jane Barker has been found not guilty of inciting violence against women. In the same email, there are some details of what he and his brother did to the man they kidnapped and held hostage for 24 hours and then left for dead. The fact that he is free to walk the streets is quite something. The fact that TRAs have been walking around with Free Sarah Jane Barker banners says everything about how morally derelict* they are.

*A childish aside. Whenever I see or write/type the word derelict, in my head I say "Derelict my balls." because of Zoolander.

Corbyn had more than one right idea, not the least of which was the apparently controversial one that, as a backbencher, his job was to work hard to represent all his constituents. I only lived in Islington for about 9 months, but he was the most visible and available MP you could wish for.

Such a shame then that Corbyn insisted Lily Madigan was a girl

Yeah, they've all been sucked in, haven't they? Whether Corbynites or Starmerites doesn't seem to matter. I also know people who lived in his constituency, and spoke very highly of him for being available and helpful.

Ooh, I'd forgotten about the lovely Lily, who seems to have been very much out of the news for several years. Whatever happened to <insert pronoun of your choice>?

We've got some delightfully truly-believing TRSOHers on this thread. Based on all the holy texts, buzzwords and gotcha points I'd guess they're (a) USian and (b) male, but it is hard to be sure because the entire ideology is USian and a male-desires-movement.

Thanks for the tip Kuc. That really is quite a thread. Yerman was a bit difficult to follow in places; all that frothing & ranting got the better of him, but the women handled it so well. Sunlight is such a good disinfectant isn't it?

Not referencing any specific thread, just an observation of the world around me, but ChatGPT is getting more sophisticated by the week. Sometimes you can see the training happening before your very eyes.

I, for one, am delighted to discover that you can in fact change sex because hormones, organs, amputees, biology beyond high school level and, er, oh yes, not flat earthers. I can't believe I was so wrong for so long and an undiagnosed misogynist to boot!

I tried googling a username (the red dog one) this morning, but it didn't get me anything informative.

I think I've got it now. Obsessive for years, probably armed with a lot of files of stuff they can cut'n'paste in response to key words, no wish to make sense or to understand anything, just to state their chosen beliefs. Sad really.

I couldn't get past the flat earth comment. Even for the lurkers, I just couldn't be arsed this week.

The ignorance of biology runs too deep to even try. It would be like trying to explain quantum physics to a rabbit. A rabbit that doesn't want to learn.

@Waitwhat23 I think I got to the fourth page and had to stop because that person was doing my nut in. There's ignorant, there's condescending, there's rude and then there's whoever the fuck that person was.

I think that person was a classic example of "Angry Man".

I'm beginning to think it's the weather. I've been having a thoroughly can't be arsed to get involved week. I mean i have had the lurgy as well, but I'm just all commented out lately!

The problem is that posters like that on Reddit are so affirmed on the forums they go on - told how beautiful they look, how cute the dress is, how feminine they look - even when most of us actual women can clearly see it's a man dressed up, and not even a particularly attractive one, that they believe it of themselves. Shame to be so divorced from reality.
