I have seen it quoted on here for many years that Tunnocks are to be supported as they support women's rights. I have looked on their website and social media and can see nothing to support this rumour. Does anyone have any evidence? Thanks.

Carnitas is the way forward. The glue gun and I are about to get reacquainted. When I can find it. My mum used to do flower arranging. It was the 80s Catholic version of crafting. The green wet foam was bad enough but the browny grey dry flower stuff sent me running from the room. The sound is unbearable. Of course I could cut half rounds out of layers of card but I'm not that dedicated. Some Valium and ear plugs and I'll be grand with the foam. Maybe rubber gloves too.
Whatever happens we should get some feminist decorations on our Christmas trees this year. I need a new door wreath or just to spruce (haha) up the old one with suffragette colour baubles. I already have my suffragette Christmas garland which bedecks the bannister.

Instead of glue, you could use double sided sticky tape....for speed 😁

But how do you do the coating and the coconut?

I was thinking about your cardboard post above. Thick enough cardboard, glue gun with coloured glue sticks and a piece of Brown paper wrapped around and you could do an open caramel wafer baubles with a bite taken out of it!

Make the pompom from white wool. Trim it so it's the shape of a snowball with a bite missing. Dab with thick chocolate coloured paint to build up a layer except on the bite, that stays white. Let it dry, touch up as necessary. Coat paint with pva glue to give a gloss. Sprinkle with grated white crayon before the glue dries.

Tah dah!

No diagram this time. I've exhausted my limited artiness.

I should have been in bed early tonight in some vague attempt to feel healthier as I'm always knackered lately. A decline in oestrogen production, alas. But here I am filling my head with ideas for Christmas and my belly with caramel wafers. Cardboard layers would be light and not drag down the tree branches either. Maybe some kind of Tunnocks garland with red and gold tinsel and Tunnocks decorations. I'm not a tinsel fan but I make exceptions in certain circumstances. The shiny gold and red wrapper is already festive so I think we are onto something here.

Boiledbeetle · 12/08/2023 23:13

That's some excellent diagramming you are doing there cake. I take it you are professionally trained?

And cervix I fear your decorations are going to put us all to shame!

You know 30 years ago right about now I'd be 3 sheets to the wind queuing to go in the nightclub so i could cop off with some random bloke.

Fast forward to now and this 👆 this is how I'm sending my Saturday night!

Got to say this is preferable!

Boiledbeetle · 12/08/2023 23:15

I imagine Tunnocks reading this trying to work out if they could manufacture Tunnocks Christmas baubles in time for this Christmas!

CervixSampler · 12/08/2023 23:31

Dd has just said why don't I just use real ones and then we can eat them. She's got a good point. I'd have to keep replacing them daily though the way we go through them. Cadbury chocolate decorations are not nice any more so I like her idea very much.

They'd melt surely with the fire roaring and the fairly lights on!

IcakethereforeIam · 13/08/2023 15:59

There's a Tunnock's teacake appreciation society on Facebook. Lots of funny posts of Tunnocky art and Tunnock-esque sightings, but this is a top tip

CervixSampler · 13/08/2023 16:06

Sadly we don't have a fire but we'd be careful to place the Tunnocks away from the lights. I'll be ordering some caps for them and trying them out.

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 13/08/2023 16:11

Of course double sided sticky tape for speed 😀.

I wonder how long a Tunnocks flag would stay attached to a mini on country twisty potholy roads.

We have nearly filled the thread, full of Tunnocky goodness.

I'm going to try the flag idea on a shopping trolley. Nick all the Tunnocks and claim diplomatic immunity.

For those of you in London, would it get you a pass in the ULEZ?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/08/2023 18:24

I dreamt about trying to make Tunnocks teacake baubles last night - building the teacake shape out of different sized circles of cardboard. It wasn’t working.

IcakethereforeIam · 13/08/2023 18:41

How about trim a bath sponge to the approx shape and size. Stick it on card if you want to then cover it with Tunnock foil or with the flag off a Japanese diplomats car.

JanesLittleGirl · 13/08/2023 18:57

I'm just happy to eat them.

Same. All this crafting would eat into my Tunnocks eating time

You have the right idea!

Boiledbeetle · 13/08/2023 19:27

I'm going to admit I did spend too much time when I was supposed to be going to sleep last night running through Tunnocks Christmas decoration designs!

Is this the FWR version of the Women's Institute?

Next week Maureen from head office will be our special guest making Tunnocks bouquets. How best to present your Tunnocks for maximum effect! Designed so that you can eat the bouquet without ruining the display.

Book your seat now ladies it's going to be a blast!

CervixSampler · 13/08/2023 21:15

I've ordered the little caps for the top and some gold and silver threads. I've got silver for the tea cakes and gold for the wafers. They look pliable so I can bend them to the different shapes. If I clear out the pantry tomorrow I might find the glue gun along with several spider families in there.

JanesLittleGirl · 13/08/2023 18:57

That's why we need fake ones for the tree, so we can eat the real ones 😃

Boiledbeetle · 13/08/2023 21:20

Sends Cervix order for 6 tea cakes and 6 caramel wafers baubles adds 6 spiders onto order

Don't be daft. Traditionally decorated tree with a mountain of Tunnocks close to it but away from any heat source.

You could decorate the tree with Tunnocks wrappers if you want. My tree gets decorated with weird things.

CervixSampler · 13/08/2023 21:50

Wouldn't it be cool if Tunnocks temporarily did green, white and violet wrappers? Terf edition Tunnocks
💚🤍💜

The teacakes are quite weighty for a traditional tree like mine but those with an artificial tree could load it up no problem. I wonder if the garden centre will charge an extra arm on top of the usual arm and a leg for a tree this year...

JanesLittleGirl · 13/08/2023 23:04

I don't want pretend Tunnocks on my tree. I don't want actual Tunnocks on my tree 'cos the tree would be undecorated in minutes. I really want a huge stash of Tunnocks where I know where they are and nobody else does. So call me selfish but do you really disagree?
