I have seen it quoted on here for many years that Tunnocks are to be supported as they support women's rights. I have looked on their website and social media and can see nothing to support this rumour. Does anyone have any evidence? Thanks.

Or even some cash! Come cash is a whole different hustle.

Thank you. You're being very kind considering this is entirely self inflicted. I'll check the corner shop tomorrow, if I remember (there's a pattern emerging here). I'll keep the thread posted.

Find a crayon and write BUY TUNNOCKS on the inside of your front door. Do it now!

Oh come on Jane! I've got to earn come cash somehow! I'm getting nothing from the book, as its all going to For Women Scotland.

How am i supposed to earn enough to keep me supplied in Tunnocks products whilst I do the second one?

Won't someone think of the beetle!

So what is next? Are you going to load up a van full of snowballs and caramel wafers, drive down to England and hang around outside tea rooms going Psst!

Don't worry. The investigating officer won't notice it.

IcakethereforeIam · 11/08/2023 22:09

I'm going to tough it out until tomorrow. It's only 8 hrs and 51 minutes 😥

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 11/08/2023 22:12

I have to admit to a mars bar ice cream today, when did they shrink so small? Can you imagine a Tunnocks teacake ice cream 😍

Boiledbeetle · 11/08/2023 22:27

Thinking about the van full of Tunnocks im having flashbacks to my youth and all the different vans that used to come to the house in Scotland. There was the van with the sweets, fags and newspapers, the van with the veg and bread and stuff, the pop van with the barrs (irn bru mmm) in real glass bottles. The milk man, and the library van. Then the coal van! I'm probably missing a few vans!

God Scotland had home delivery before big supermarkets or their home delivery were even a thing

Boiledbeetle · 11/08/2023 22:30

A Spanish poem for the Scots (lived this growing up)

Si senora
Der dago, forte lorez inaro
Demaint lorez, demar trux
Fulov coosan ensan dux

Boiledbeetle · 11/08/2023 22:30

Loved! Not lived! I need a new tablet that can autocorrect properly. This one has attitude!

AppleTreeOwner · 12/08/2023 12:56

Risen to the challenge…

-There once were some Tea Cakes from Tunnocks
-Who had lots of ladies quite flummoxed
-They tasted Devine
-With shivers up the spine
-But ended expanding their stomachs

AppleTreeOwner · 12/08/2023 12:57

Sorry - a previous post suggested a poem describing the addiction

Oh you beautiful woman you! Two of my favourite things Tunnocks and poems!

I'm supposed to be collecting up poems today for volume two!

I am in fact still in my pjs eating a caramel wafer and pratting around on the internet!

Feel free to say no, but as the last book had a tea break chapter (including my ode to Yorkshire Tea) I only think it right that this one has a similar tea break chapter, would you be willing to be included in our book of wonderfully written incredibly important preserved for posterity as what the women of Terf Island in 2023 had to suffer poems?

I mean you can say no, but then I will sneak into your house and remove all your Tunnocks if you say no.

Just saying 😁

(Seriously I don't mind either way it's one thing to stick it on a thread but another thing entirely be stick it in one of the best books of poetry not yet in existence).

AppleTreeOwner · 12/08/2023 13:38

Happy for any tea cake limerick to go in said book under user name. Got to spread the gospel of Tunnocks love.
PS am currently working out how they can be hung from Christmas tree without melting next to tree light or falling out of wrapper. Have some time to work it out.
Thinking may have to make an advent calendar with tea cake pouches as an alternative.

IcakethereforeIam · 12/08/2023 13:49

Ooh, a Tunnocks advent calendar 😍

🐞😘

Re the Christmas decoration issue.

Save the wrappers from now until Christmas. Buy some cheap ping pong balls. Slice of bottom of ball and pierce hole in top of ping pong ball loop through the thread for hanging and knot inside ball. stick threaded ball to circular discs of card just slightly bigger to give the ridge effect at the bottom.

Make hole in centre of old wrappers feed thread loop through and wrap the ball and card in the wrapper.

Voila, Tunnocks tea cakes Christmas decorations. You can then have a stash of real ones to swap when someone takes one off the tree.

Boiledbeetle · 12/08/2023 13:56

I now really wish I had a Christmas tree. Maybe I can make a Tunnocks bunting as above and stick them alongside my Christmas hat string lights.

And a Tunnocks advent calendar. ❤

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 12/08/2023 14:05

I have just got back from Aldi with both caramel and teacake stocks. I saw the knockoff caramels but due to the wisdom of MN ( icake maybe?) knew to avoid these imposters.

Excellent poem @AppleTreeOwner and yet another talent from @Boiledbeetle appears to be Christmas decoration design. Though I did have a “why are we on Christmas?” momen, I’m still dreaming of Tunnocks icecream.

The flaw in your idea beetle is that if I saved all my wrappers until Christmas I would need several thousand balls and a very big tree.

Boiledbeetle · 12/08/2023 14:15

Not my best work but it's August and I've got time to improve.

Having just done one

Id change the ping-pong balls to polystyrene balls as ping pong balls were actually too small. and colour the top red in case of wrapper tearing and also stick cellotape on the inside of the wrapper where the hole is To strengthen

I can't believe I'm sat I my living room in August. AUGUST and there's a Christmas decoratin sat on my mantle piece.

Studiously ignores Christmas bag sat in corner with last years Christmas cards still sat in it

IcakethereforeIam · 12/08/2023 15:30

I went to the corner shop and am now replete with teacakes and wafers (only a 4 pack but tbh that's probably for the best).

I don't know if anyone has seen this website but, if you want to look like Tunnocky ninjas have crept into your house and Tunnocked everything...

https://www.gilliankyle.com/tunnocks/

Tunnock teacake baubles. I've seen some on etsy. But I would cut a circle of cardboard. Cover it with stretchy fabric stuffed so it's the same size and shape as a teacake. Sewn, glued or taped in place. Then cover it with teacake foil.

I've drawn a diagram
