Tunnocks

I have seen it quoted on here for many years that Tunnocks are to be supported as they support women's rights. I have looked on their website and social media and can see nothing to support this rumour. Does anyone have any evidence? Thanks.

@Waitwhat23 One won't be enough! They are a two bar at a time treat!

Waitwhat23 · 26/07/2023 21:43

For various reasons, I only had one. But it was very nice. FAR superior to the meh Caramel Wafer.

SirVixofVixHall · 26/07/2023 22:03

I bought dd some Caramel logs from Amazon. I feel sad they have changed the wrapper though, didn’t they used be diagonal silver and red stripes ? The proper foiled paper wrapper ? Now they are plastic, I hope Tunnocks don’t start wrapping everything in plastic.

The elusive wafer cream is rather nice.

I must track these down. Depressing on one level to have to sit and watch my family eat them, but I have a box of Snowballs in the pantry and hope in my heart of a gluten free version one day.

Tunnocks have said that Farmfoods and Home Bargains stock Wafer Creams.

For the second week running Sainsbury's have substituted my snowballs with tea cakes!

I thought the caramel logs used to be wrapped differently but thought my mind was playing tricks on me.

CervixSampler · 27/07/2023 11:45

We have an emergency situation: no Tunnocks in the house! I'm off to buy some soon. My book has arrived so I'm going to read it in bed later with about 3 caramel wafers.

Boiledbeetle · 27/07/2023 14:25

NO TUNNOCK products? At all? You must rectify that immediately!

And 3 caramel wafers? I know it's a slim, but perfectly formed, volume, but I reckon it's at least an 8 pack book!

CervixSampler · 27/07/2023 15:38

I've bought 4 packs now. 3 for me, 1 for mum.

CervixSampler · 27/07/2023 18:36

I feel the need to visit my poetic youth and write something for the next book. My tin is refilled but I could t fit them all in but luckily my stomach had no trouble.

Boiledbeetle · 27/07/2023 19:32

write a poem write a poem write a poem!

The stomach is a fine storage area for Tunnocks bars! Mine's currently looking after some caramel wafers and some tea cakes! I still have room and need for more though!

I'm making up for the fact that instead of spending the afternoon at a hospital appointment I spent the afternoon being threatened by the arsehole from the NHS patient transport who decided to go off on one for reasons I've still not figured out who then phoned the police because he was scared apparently of the disabled women with a bloody walker who'd he'd just been aggressive towards, manhandled my property and gone to grab hold of me.

Guess how many police came out to deal with the really threatening 🙄🙄🙄 disabled woman... 4! Talk about overkill! They ended up I think giving him a talking to and telling me to put a complaint in about him! I would if anyone would answer the phone!!!!!!

The very nice woman at the hospital though moved my appointment to Tuesday next week!

I've got a stinking headache and I'm still rather 😠😠😠

Tricyrtis2022 · 28/07/2023 07:52

That's outrageous, Beetle, I'm glad you had some Tunnocks for support.

The police do seem to have some funny ideas about women and how clearly dangerous we are, what with stickers and walkers and all.

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 28/07/2023 09:07

Blimey @Boiledbeetle that sounds an erm interesting afternoon! Maybe they’d seen your Tunnocks parcel arrive so came on mass in the hope you would share.
Is a walker classed as a dangerous weapon now?
It’s a good job your appt could be rearranged so quickly and you’re not left waiting ages.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 10:09

Bloody hell @Boiledbeetle Flowers I've been avoiding this thread because I've got a stomach bug and all this talk of Tunnocks was unhelpful. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Boiledbeetle · 28/07/2023 11:06

Tunnocks were eaten in rather vast quantities yesterday! Judging by the amount of empty wrappers sat next to my chair today!

I'm still trying to get hold of someone at the NHS to complain about it all. You just get stuck in a one of our operators will be with you as soon as possible, but they never actually answer the phone queue or answering machines!

I've left voice mail messages on numbers where that's been possible and am currently back on hold. PALS aren't answering the phone either! I do feel for the poor sods who have answered on some numbers I've tried who haven't been able to help but have been regaled with the whole story, whilst going 'he did what???'

The police did seem a little perplexed when they came out to deal with the very violent woman the big strong man was scared of to discover once they arrived they were dealing with a arse of a man and woman who was ill and just wanted to get to a hospital appointment.

I think a combination of me crying uncontrollably whilst I explained why I was going to miss my appointment and the fact that it was already an urgent scan appointment which had only been made a few days earlier helped, And then the nice guy who books the ambulance transport (who thankfully I was on the phone to at one bit of the whole shit show so he heard what this guy was doing and shouting at me) has booked it as an ambulance pick up this time so as to avoid getting an arsey volenteer driver!

(One final thing: All the way through it all the main thought going through my head was 'of course he's wearing a fucking rainbow lanyard!')

Anyway back to Tunnocks. I may actually eat real food for breakfast today. I'll save the Tunnocks for lunch!

I'm now wishing I had Yorkshire Tea gin to go with them!

Update the call i was on hold to as i was writing this finally was answered and the complaint is now in. Have to wait up to 6 weeks. She did ask me what I would like to happen to him and if I thought re-education would be appropriate. I suggested sacking on the spot would be more appropriate!

Such fun!

DialSquare · 28/07/2023 18:23

Sorry to hear that Boiled. I had to pick up a relative from the hospital last night as the transport he had been waiting for all day cancelled because they said he was too fat! He's overweight but not exceptionally so. They then said that they may be able to take him later lady night but if not it would have been today. I'm not sure if they expected him to have lost weight by those times!

DialSquare · 28/07/2023 18:24

lady = last!

Waitwhat23 · 28/07/2023 18:49

Bloody hell Boiled that's awful! I hope you get somewhere with the complaint.

Boiledbeetle · 28/07/2023 19:03

Edited highlights

Honestly it was all over nothing much, he was a mardy arse when he arrived, was shouting and whinging all over the place and called me a liar over something before I'd even got in the car!

Then it just escalated, he kicked off, I foned ambulance transport whilst I was sat in the back of his car and he went ballistic when he realised turned the engine off and removed my walker from the boot whilst shouting at me, took it over the road and then went to pull me out of the car. Me shouting "Don't you touch me!" wound him up even more.

He then for some reason foned the police in retaliation for me daring to complain about the level of service he was providing. And was suddenly all nice and calm and placid on the fone to the police!

It was the most bizarre few hours I've had in a long time!

Usually they knock on the door, escort me to the car and drive me to the hospital. So fuck knows what I did to deserve the shit show that was yesterday!

Tunnocks helped with the "trauma"! 😁

True that!

Big love to the Tunnock wafers and logs and snowballs and tea cakes.

That will be their new strap line when they see it

Boiledbeetle · 28/07/2023 19:54

I'd go for that advertising campaign. They could team it with

"A Tunnocks a day keeps the bastards away"

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 20:00

Tunnocks, guaranteed to turn to dust in the mouths of bastards!

MN needs to give us a vaguely* Tunnocks emoji.

Boiledbeetle · 28/07/2023 20:09

They could do a team up. Buy one pack of Tunnocks caramel wafers and get a free knock off Aldi pack for the man in your life that you hate!
