Transmen who want us all to accept that they are actual men. But they are a subset of men who can give birth to babies..
Which only women can do, in fact.

And still claim that they are men. After giving birth to babies. From their wombs.

And the presenter on R4 is actually going with it. And sympathising with the person that obviously men can give birth. Or is he just presenting it so that the audience can draw their own conclusions?

Whatever it is, it is winding me up no end. I have listened to R4 for the past 50 years - 50 YEARS!! every night without fail, while I potter about in the kitchen, tidying up and popping a bit of baking in the oven. I love radio 4, it has seen me through many traumas. Divorce, death of parents, death of sibling, permanently life altering illness of my child. Radio 4 has always been there as a stalwart support. A reality check. Reassurance that the rest of the world continues as normal - ordinary, normal even if it's bad news or a war between foreign nations. Right up to 1am and "Sailing By"

I love Sailing By. I find it, at the same time, both soothing and sad (because it's a reminder of times past)

But the shite that I've just listened to has totally wrecked it for me.
What a load of utter bollocks they have just allowed on air.

Unless they're just airing it to show how ludicrous and self absorbed some people can be. . . . .

Really hope that's what it turns out to be.

What has been nasty??

Women being rightfully worried about 50% of the population?

I can't understand how the word 'hate' has been redefined in this context. I don't hate trans people in any way, shape or form. I wish them nothing but the best with their lives!

It's just really, really silly. Concerns expressed here are totally valid.

No one posting on here (as far as I'm aware) actually gives a shit about how other people live their lives, indeed it seems we are for the most part, liberal people.

But safeguarding is important!
And most of this debate is very, very basic safeguarding.

Why does this make you laugh?

Females who don’t want males in their spaces, who could have serious reasons for that and you laugh?

What have you been so influenced by to prioritise males and care so little about women and girls?

Nothing to do with that. I’m laughing because you’re so self righteous. And because once again MN have taken a stance against the hate.

OnePotPolly · 09/07/2023 17:28

have they told you why they moved your thread?

No. Not a dicky bird. To be honest, I was pretty startled when I saw the amount of responses there were. Hadn't really expected that. Couple of threads I've started before have withered and died quite quickly. Have read all though, and learnt a lot.

Ok, cool. Your OH like la being patronised. Is it a fetish?

Now you're just being insulting. Maybe it's not us, it's you.

Hate?

Because women and girls say no to males in their spaces

Why do you call that hate?

Is it because males are more important to you and women and girls just lower down

I can’t see how anyone who cares about women could frame it in this way

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 17:33

Good to see the holier than thou, condescending, sneering mask has fallen, and the misogynistic trans rights activist is revealed.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 17:35

This is a male supremacist movement, more people are seeing this every single day.

BartholemewHolmes · 09/07/2023 17:37

I’m sad though as we may be beaten.

And the U.K. is one of the few western countries that could survive it

Nogbadthebad · 09/07/2023 17:41

There is no hate. There is a great deal of concern that women's spaces, freedom of speech, sports, positions in business and the arts etc etc etc are being taken over by male bodied people for 'reasons'.

Humans cannot change sex.
Transwomen commit offences, sexual otherwise, at the same rate as men. But there's nothing for women to be worried about Hmm.
No-one appears to be able to explain what 'living as a woman' means without resorting to gendered ridiculousness.
Much appears to relate to paraphilias.
There is a concern regarding social contagion.
Humans cannot change sex.
Women's sport will disappear down the plughole unless sports bodies recognise the utter joke of males being allowed to compete in women's categories.
Humans cannot change sex.
Women speaking out are threatened with violence, rape, death. They lose their jobs, have police knocking at their doors. For speaking up. For saying humans cannot change sex.
Children are being groomed into believing they can change their natal sex.
Humans cannot change sex.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 17:43

There's no logic, there's no rational position. It's a religious belief.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 09/07/2023 17:47

nice use of the word bloviate upthread

to be tedious and go back to the OP for a moment. I'm another of the 30% of listeners to the today programme who now doesn't.

the BBC made it very clear they didn't want me so I took my ears elsewhere, having been a loyal listener for 25 years. the tables at my wedding were named after Archers locations.

obviously they can broadcast what they like (although given that they're funded by what is effectively a public levy I'd say that's not completely clear cut).

I have always strongly believed that the BBC is a force for good in the world and never begrudged the licence fee. However given that I can't remember the last time I watched a BBC TV programme I'm now starting to look thoughtfully at that £12 per month. Radcliffe and Maconie on 6 Music just about keep it safe for now.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 17:48

As I said late last night, the video I posted of a violent ex con threatening women he doesn't agree with with violence just for standing up for their rights and getting in his way is "hate".

Women posting about their lack of belief in your fringe ideology, your luxury beliefs and hyperbolic "rights" movement isn't "hate".

Another anti trans thread on aibu..

Stick to the feminism board.

"Pro women and children" is NOT "anti-trans".

Looking at the TV schedules for this week there are an unbelievable number of repeats. The Fast Show is on, incredibly.
maybe this is the answer - starve the wankers of money so all they can do is repeat the good stuff from the past. Hell, I’m happy with that.

Lorrries · 09/07/2023 20:28

The BBC pretty much lost me with Brexit. I enjoy listening to France Inter, one of the main French radio channels. But one of their main presenters (a woman) comes up with infuriating comments in a patronising "educate yourselves" voice. The last one I heard was "Of course, the ideal we should be aiming for is for everyone to be happy to have sex with everyone."

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 21:12

for everyone to be happy to have sex with everyone

Completely indiscriminately? So we all have to be polyamorous pansexuals? And be happy about it? Hmm

So true. Self regarding in a big way. It’s just so easy when you’re a stupid pile of idiots. I imagine you’re a beige heap of nonsense. I’m a non fox bludgeoning thing.

GrabbyGabby · 09/07/2023 22:13

Well this has all gotten a bit playground. Putting the slanging matches to one side.

@OnePotPolly , you seem to be just starting out questioning gender bollocks.

How is it going for you so far? Have you talked to anyone in real life?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2023 22:18

Not in the way that would make you have the slightest hint of how you come across. I pity your colleagues.
