These are the only two articles I could find so far.

'Schools will be forced to tell parents if students are questioning their gender under new Government guidance to be published this week, according to a report. '

Schools to be banned from letting kids change gender if parents say no

SCHOOLS will be banned from letting kids change their gender if their parents say no, The Sun can reveal. And children who want to be called by another pronoun — he, she, they — will not be able to…

Thank you Arabella. We shall see.
Feel a bit 😬in case the new stuff is wishy washy.

Helleofabore · 19/06/2023 10:45

It does look to be very clear guidance coming.

What has struck me is that it is the educational guidance that has created some very significant changes to the narratives and the mantras of the extremist gender identity ideology. It was through the educational guidance that ‘wrong body’ was questioned and stopped.

I think that it will be through this guidance that ‘affirming only’ will be stopped and it will return to holistic treatment and rigourous diagnosis of gender dysphoria.

So will gaslighting teachers get off Scott free with their abuse?

I see it's being received with the usual calm.

Wait, no, of course not.

'Dangerous', apparently.

Thanks. Tweets pasted below for those who can't access them:

'CALLING ALL PARENTS This Government Guidance is long overdue & seems to be heading in the right direction. A complete ban on the use of gender pronouns & treating pupils as per their biological sex is the only real way however to protect them

When the guidance goes live, it will be subject to public consultation. It is therefore vital now for concerned parents to get involved. We cannot afford to remain quiet any longer.

We need all parents to rise up and let their voice be heard instead of the usual suspects who encourage this indoctrination of our kids. Do not allow the noisy few to continue to shout over the silent majority.'

I wonder if this may be the issue that 'peaks' the general population ...

SunnyEgg · 19/06/2023 12:38

Thanks for this, will do the feedback too

The tik tok video is nicely putting this in people’s minds

What does "identifying as a cat" have to do with "gender"? Why does the teacher accuse the girl who said her classmate wasn't a cat of having the "idea that there are only two genders"? Surely cats come in all genders, and it's speciesist of the teacher to reduce the cat's identity to a single gender that gets subsumed under the human gender spectrum, rather than broadly accepting celebrating the other pupil's cattitude regardless of gender? Honestly, some people are etiher very insensitive or just don't think.

Place marking.
I've been impatiently waiting for this guidance.

I'm wondering if it will align with the NHS guidance: stating social transition should only happen under the guidance of a clinician?

So presumably schools should only support it with clinical guidance? I'm not sure it's going to be that clear though.

Sounds like there's going to be a lot of scope for head teacher discretion. Which will allow varied practice and then I guess parental pressure will be key.

The impact on other pupils is interesting because I think confusing the definition of language impacts all pupils negatively and increases the likelihood of social contagion. But I don't imagine the guidance will be that directive?

Oh no...do we have to add CRAs (Cats Rights Activists) to TRAs and MRAs.

I think the real story the Mail is trying to convey is towards the end of the article:

"It (Rye College) is a member of the Aquinas Trust, which boasts that one of its key values is 'promoting equality, celebrating diversity, and addressing disadvantage'.
The trust's equality lead, Barry Blakelock, is also executive head at Rye College. His official bio reads: 'Barry believes the best education is an inclusive education – where the diversity of the real world is reflected in every classroom to the benefit of all learners.'"

It is a strange world where "diversity" has started to man the opposite when it comes to thought and opinion. .

Cats Rights Activist Protection is the latest thing, it seems.

If all this is true, then it's fantastic news. If we put an end to the gender nonsense in schools, that pretty much kills it dead altogether. Schools have played a very big role in peddling this crap.

Tanith · 19/06/2023 13:24

Does it extend to eating Whiskas and mouse entrails, and regular worming and flea treatment, I wonder?

JohnPrescottsPyjamas · 19/06/2023 13:29

I think this just about sums it all up…

Heads empowered to ban children from socially transitioning? Well this is gloriously bonkers. I'd love to see how anyone expects that to go...

I caught you referring to yourself as 'he' just then, Olivia - DETENTION! Wearing a skirt, are you Charlie? Can't have you violating the sacred natural laws of gendered expression! I'm calling your parents immediately to out you to them, since apparently safeguarding doesn't count when GNC kids are involved.

There are many ways to make children suffer unnecessarily for challenging gender norms, and it looks like this government is all aboard that particular train. Here is hoping that sanity prevails and this is either scrapped, or there's at least some kind of compassionate clause included to protect GNC children from being forcibly outed to their parents as a matter of policy - this is exceptionally grim, otherwise, especially for kids who are known 'gender transgressors' and have been using school as a safe place to express themselves, who will now be dreading the day when their parents get The Call.

Indeed. And it will give the cover to those teachers and schools who have been desperately trying to limit the damage this ideology can do to the children in their care.

I can't trust a word printed in the S*n though, so I'm not celebrating too much yet.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 19/06/2023 14:10

Heads empowered to ban children from socially transitioning?

Unlikely. Heads empowered to prevent adults in a position of authority from affirming social transition, however, is more likely and good.

Safeguarding doesn't involve teachers keeping secrets with children. Ever. It is literally the first thing you get taught at teacher training (though I don't personally know anyone who actually needed to be told that).

Being 'gender non conforming' is not the same as 'transitioning', surely?

And who on earth refers to themself in the third person?

Most of the Sun report makes sense but the sentences about not taking part in competitive sport are ludicrous and I can't help feeling they've got hold of the wrong end of the stick.

Thelnebriati · 19/06/2023 14:40

So when the guideline goes live there will be a chance for parents to respond?
Someone needs to make sure if goes on the Petitions and Activism board.

Helleofabore · 19/06/2023 14:48

I do like the way that gender non-conforming people (adults and children) are now being leveraged in these discussions.

I am pretty sure that as a gender non-conforming child, I was not 'trans' at all. Despite being repetitively called the wrong sex by many adults in my childhood.

It is all about how many other groups of people can be levered into a group to exaggerate the harms. It is clear to see and it is a dishonest tactic.
