Just read that article about what they are teaching in school and am very disturbed.

I do my best to stay informed on what my primary school child is being taught and have reviewed lesson plans and power points, which seemed ok.

What worries me is there may be handouts that they are not sharing (as detailed in the above article) that we are unaware of - is this something that we might not be told about?

Maybe check the school's website ? As long as they're not a Stonewall champion or signed up the the paedophile scandal hit Mermaids and aren't running pride events or LGBT clubs, they're probably fine. Child centred and not in thrall to transactivists.

greenstrawberry · 18/06/2023 16:15

@MrsOvertonsWindow the website holds the PPT and the lesson plans, neither of which were concerning, but no handouts. I do wonder if I should ask to see copies of those as well.

There's no harm in being "that parent". As we're learning to our cost, too many schools have unthinkingly allowed these unacceptable organisations into schools. You could use the Mail article and ask the school to confirm that they're not using any of these resources or organisations? Ask for some reassurance?

HareRaising · 18/06/2023 16:41

Every parent needs to be 'that parent' just now. Parents really need to start asserting themselves against this horrifying onslaught and tackle these bastards head on.

@IcakethereforeIam
I don't see the relevance of your post it is offensive

Offensive to whom?

ScrollingLeaves · 18/06/2023 21:36

To get back to the Daily Mail, yes, thank you, DM, for those details of what sex and gender ideology is being taught to children. They are very hard if not nearly impossible to winkle out, and no wonder.

Hedgehogs? I've heard they can be a bit prickly.

Plunkplink · 18/06/2023 22:51

I see our friends who have been trying to stop us reading the Daily Mail because it’s misogynistic are having a break.

Has anyone "tried to stop you" reading it though, or is it just that other people think differently to you about it and have expressed that via discussion, which is what usually happens?!
I see the latter.
Don't think anyone has said don't read it at all.
Read it, knock yerself out as the saying goes

Plunkplink · 18/06/2023 23:07

Triggered?

Plunkplink · 18/06/2023 23:08

Spoke too soon😂😂😂

BodgerLovesMashedPotato · 19/06/2023 05:28

Triggered? No why on earth would I be 😕😂

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 19/06/2023 07:03

Even Bodger’s not clear what her arguments are so I don’t think any of us can reliably extrapolate

Agreed. I just scroll by their posts.

oldwomanwhoruns · 19/06/2023 07:31

Re the handouts - I understand that Jigsaw are teaching the dodgy gender stuff too. I'm concerned because our local schools use & promote them.
Does anyone have any more inside info on Jigsaw??

Helleofabore · 19/06/2023 10:12

Ahhhh. The old ‘of course you can read it!’ tactic is being used.

Of course you can read it but if you do, you are all the negative things we have said.

But no one is stopping you!!!!!!

At all!!!!!

Fill ya boots!!!

You [insert all the negative things we have said about daily mail and its readers here]!

Helleofabore · 19/06/2023 10:17

By the way, I never have got an answer as to how Julie Bindel became ‘right wing’ since the Daily Mail was called ‘right wing’.

And that poster, who is still vocal here on this thread, has never once pointed out where Julie Bindel has written lies and falsehoods even though that poster seemed to have wished to discredit all feminist articles in the Daily Mail.

IcakethereforeIam · 19/06/2023 10:22

Seeing as I've been given permission 😁

Great, cake. I think that needs its own thread.

I haven't said anything of the sort, so no idea what you're actually going on about now.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 19/06/2023 13:44

Good to see this thread still near the top of the board. The Mail's detailed expose into the age inappropriate queer theory based SRE resources was excellent. Pleased to see they've also covered the bullying of children by that teacher in a school.

Thank heavens for a free press eh?

I didn't say 'you' said those things. However, now that you mention it...

Do you think that if you merely agree with a poster, it means that you are not joining them in the effective name calling that poster has done?

Did you or did you not agree with this post at the start of the thread?

"Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas. The Daily Mail is proudly mysoginistic and right wing, be careful where you are heading."

Do you believe that this poster was not saying people who read the Daily Mail are also misogynistic and right wing because they are reading such a news service?

Agree.

I unapologetically read it, but that doesn't mean I a) don't see it for what it really is, or b) am not thrilled that they happen to be throwing much-needed rays of sunlight on this particular issue, whatever their motivation for doing so.

The Guardian is an even bigger letdown. At least the Mail's never pretended to be anything other than what it is.

What I didn't want to see was the thread (yet again) descend into the interminable tedium that's the defensive, snippy angst about SAHM vs/ WOHM. That dull conundrum has more than enough threads of its own [to strenuously avoid].
