@PrincessPalatine you seem to have an awful problem with Elon Musk himself the father of trans child raising public awareness about what is being done to these children. Would you prerfer that this was kept under wraps?!
It's very odd to me that you would not celebrate that these children finally have a very powerful, influential advocate who can raise enough global awareness to ensure laws are put in place to protect these children from sterilisation, mutilation & pumping them up irreversible hormones.
Why is that a bad thing?

He is a father protecting his child. Thank goodness he has the money and the power to do this publicly as too many parents are ignored, not told or called transphobic. How can anyone not agree with him. Odd world we live in now when people call him names for protecting a child.

He is a knob - but right now, he's a knob doing our work for us, with greater reach and influence than pretty much anyone else on the planet.

Will I be raging further down the line if he decides to use that reach and influence against a different cause that negatively impacts me? Of course I will, and I don't doubt that will happen. But right now, the knob is on our side.

Exactly he's on our side & he's advocating for all the children out there as a parent of a trans child himself.

That's the problem right there, he's not on "our side". He's on his own side, which is exactly where he always is. We might be relieved that (some of) our concerns are being amplified through the world's biggest loudspeaker, but that doesn't remove the travesty of one person having so much uncontrolled influence, especially when that person is so exclusively focused on their own interests,

Moonandstarz · 12/06/2023 21:27

Well obviously this is a huge concern of his, he is the father of a trans child @Raquelos . It is imperative he speaks out against the sterilisation of children.
He is right to use his influence & power. What is being done to these children is horrifying & chilling in equal measures. It needs to stop.

"Elon Musk is a colossal knob. End of."

How could one fail to be convinced by such persuasive and rational argument as this 👏🏻

Boomboom22 · 12/06/2023 22:29

I don't think it's fair to call Elon a knob. Yes he is autistic and has communication difficulties so comes across blunt, but he does what he does to try to save humanity.
He believes the clever upper class need to breed fast so they don't get overrun by the lower class low iq genes. Yes eugenics but he believes it'll be good for the world to spread his clever genes.
He's trying to make electric cars, to stop climate change.
He's trying to go to Mars, to save humanity from itself.
He's trying to remove disabilities, ok bit eugenics again but he does want to help people walk.

You keep repeating he's the father of a trans child, but the "child" is an adult and wants nothing to do with him.

Musk was also very abusive to his ex wife.

anyolddinosaur · 12/06/2023 22:56

Your child is always your child, even if legally an adult. His transgender child is 18 - still doesnt have an adult brain as that is not fully adult until 25.

He sounds quite a lot like Hitler, based on that. Awfully misguided if he believes in 'clever genes'.

Moonandstarz · 12/06/2023 23:36

@PrincessPalatine
I doubt Elon (or anyone else!) gives a fiddlers fuck what your opinion is of him 🤣

However millions worldwide will be very concerned with what Elon is highlighting in regards to the sterilisation of children.

Elon Musk is a smart man. He made electric cars affordable and available to the masses much more quickly than any of the big OEMs. He's right on free speech. He was right about Twitter. And goddammit if he's not right about sterilising children too.

Gotta love the guy.

As for @PrincessPalatine , your liberal use of whataboutism, a derivative of tu quoque, is disingenuous and a bit pathetic. You're oh so tewwibly outraged about Musk's alleged support for Putin (which isn't true btw) but openly boast that you were a member of the Labour Party during the corbyn years, when Corbyn's support for anti-Semites, Islamist terrorists, and Putin's Russia presumably bothered you not one whit, because you are complacent in your self-image as 'one of the good ones'.

Overly privileged middle class progressives bore me every. damn. time with their total predictability.

Gosh catching up and doesn’t this hit the nail slap bam on the head

Boomboom22 · 13/06/2023 07:18

And again I've been deleted for pointing out the actual parallels between various leftist movements in history and the way they work, and the current movement which uses very similar tactics. They really don't want you to know the Denton playback, no debate, shut people down. It is so painfully obvious to me but apparently not allowed to be thought.
Literally.

Moonandstarz · 13/06/2023 07:20

@Boomboom22 who deleted you? Yes the parallels are obvious. History has a funny way of repeating itself.

I wouldn't say the masses, they are pretty expensive and I certainly can't afford one. I'm not a squillionaire, but I'm not poorly paid.

I agree that he's right on this issue, but he's a dishonest bully, who believes that free speech extends to allowing slander. He called Vernon Unsworth "pedo guy" on a number of occasions, said that he was having sex with his wife when she was 13 and that he was only in Thailand for underage sex.

He paid a private investigator to get evidence to that effect, but bizarrely, won his case.

Intelligence is more influenced by genetics than any other factor. That's a known fact. Knowing facts does not make one Hitler. But comparing everything you don't like as Hitler (thanks for today's earworm Countess) does display a startling lack of ability to think critically. An aspect of intelligence that absolutely can be taught.

Moonandstarz · 13/06/2023 08:58

@PrincessPalatine you still haven't explained why you are so opposed to someone as powerful & influential as Elon speaking out & informing the world about what is actually being done to these children!
Why don't you want the children protected?

Quite the list there

Care to be more specific with links.

I'm not being snidely, I genuinely have no idea here

Any further info on this list of things Elon musk is accused of?

Elon Musk is concerned about children sterilising themselves.

Less so about women's rights and dignity.

He has a large number of children with several different women. Pretty sure none of the children were procured in the traditional manner.

He persuaded his first wife to carry FIVE babies over a two year period. IVF twins followed straight away by IVF triplets. I'm not convinced he is entirely on the side of women.

So has he got ivf to work first time every time?
That would be unusual as lots of women have to go through several unsuccesful rounds.

Plus is it all on him or did his first wife have any say? Anyone asked her?

Most of us here are concerned about children being sterilized. In fact some of us more concerned with that than womens rights, its not a bad thing to prioritise.
