Anti-women Response from Caroline Lucas re: equality act

Caroline Lucas is my MP, sadly (I did not used to think that). I wrote to her requesting that she support the clarification that 'sex' in the equality act refers to biological sex. Her response is disgusting and shameful and I will be telling her so. Anyone who votes for that party now is casting a vote against women. I'll post her full response.

We are living through a time of great cultural change when it comes to gender and nobody has all the answers yet.

So while we pretend to search for the answers we will prioritise trans women over women.

Caroline Lucas - if you or your party are reading this:
More and more public/school toilet blocks are becoming ‘gender neutral’ ie mixed sexed. Everyone (despite their ideologies) seems to realise this means doors have to be full length for privacy with no easy way of getting in a locked cubicle. In fact I have never come across a mixed sex toilet that isn’t. This change is putting lives at risk. The door gaps are there for a very important safety reason - for visibility in case people collapse behind them. There are several places my epileptic daughter is less safe now. Single sex toilets with the door gaps work for many disabled people and other vulnerable people, particularly women. You are making their lives more difficult and unsafe. After all, if anyone is feeling unwell at school/in town - where do you head to?

I also joined to try and help change the GP 'from the inside', as some MNetters were suggesting. But despite ongoing pleas to stay and do this I've had enough. If Caroline Lucas, who is after all supposed to be less batshit than her fellow members, can still produce spectacular batshittery as seen in her email copied above, then there is no hope. So no, no point in remaining!

The dignity and integrity of women never seems to be a consideration.

Are all of these people really so blind that they are not aware of the numbers and types of men who are idenetfying as women these days?

In declaring that we can't tell if someone is male, Lucas effectively discards the basis of sex-based safeguarding. Totally.

But "sex" in the equality act already means biological sex. This isn't a change, just a clarification. If she doesn't realise that, it demonstrates exactly why the clarification is needed.

It is so hard to engage with politics when one of the few you thought had integrity ends up shitting on you.

The abolition of sex-based segregation and safeguarding is intrinsic to gender ideology, given that absolutely any man could actually be a woman.

It also requires women and girls to trust and believe men over and above their own eyes and instincts. Lucas knows that. It's what she's saying.

I've always contended, if this was just females transing to men, no way would this phenomenon have ingrained itself like Japanese Knotweed.

Great documentary though, so worth a watch but don't watch it near kids, is my advice.

Someone like Caroline Lucas must have worked it out, but it’s expedient to sacrifice women. I voted Green last time (wouldn’t vote for Corbyn or Johnson, concerned over the environment). I finally cancelled my Green Party membership a few days ago because the head of the women’s group is campaigning against the clarification of “sex” in the equality legislation. The Greens are obsessed with this when they should be focussing on saving the planet. I’ve told them this and that while trans people deserve and have protection, so should women too. Shame on them the judases.
