Anti-women Response from Caroline Lucas re: equality act

greenpartyshame · 07/06/2023 18:02

Caroline Lucas is my MP, sadly (I did not used to think that). I wrote to her requesting that she support the clarification that 'sex' in the equality act refers to biological sex. Her response is disgusting and shameful and I will be telling her so. Anyone who votes for that party now is casting a vote against women. I'll post her full response.

I also note that being trans does not make someone a threat to others

That's correct Caroline. Also being male does not make someone a threat to women but because some males are a threat to women it is important that women have single sex places. Do you see where this is going Caroline......it's not about thinking all trans women are a threat to women (and children), it's acknowledging that some are, so women need safe, single sex spaces.

And this is why I don't vote Green, Lib Dem, Labour anymore.

IamRoyFuckingKent · 07/06/2023 19:12

Well she can fuck the fuck off and when she gets there she can fuck off some more

OvaHere · 07/06/2023 19:18

Useless woman.

Beautifully put, Mr Kent.

trythisforsize · 07/06/2023 19:32

I cancelled my Green Party membership 3 years ago because of their TWAW mantra and I also stopped voting for them in local and general elections.

I take huge offence at being called 'cis'.

The Green Party are toast.

EpicChaos · 07/06/2023 19:35

I always did have her down as someone with a head full of sawdust!
I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised by her views tbh, don't forget the whole thing with the Challenors, plus there's that current case going on through the tribunal? I've never been to her neck of the woods but i'd bet a quid it's full of the blue haired mob.

ArabeIIaScott · 07/06/2023 19:37

Oh, fuck off, Caroline.

EpicChaos · 07/06/2023 19:39

I should make clear because i didn't do so in my previous post, that i don't regard the challenor fiasco as being CL's fault, or the tribunal case, i just meant those things were symptomatic of the Green party's views on the matter in general and should be a massive red flag to anyone considering voting for them, regardless of constituency.

SunnyEgg · 07/06/2023 19:43

I missed the ‘cis’

Probably a good thing

How can any MP write this stuff

SueVineer · 07/06/2023 19:45

Excellent response- what a disgrace she is. So keen to throw women under the bus that she won’t even properly examine the issue. Trans people have protection from discrimination under the gender reassignment category- why do they need to destroy women’s rights too?

HadEnoughSoTired · 07/06/2023 19:50

@greenpartyshame thanks for trying, and I particularly liked your response. They really have no clue that gender and sex mean different things now and should no longer be used for the same thing. And yes, I'm peed off at being lumped with cis women. I'm not a fucking subset.

Wow greenoartyshame, that was extremely quick - almost like BB is watching….

Re Caroline Lucas, I hope that one day she’ll engage her brain

What makes you think lucks has a brain?

WomanIsEnough · 07/06/2023 19:56

I joined the Green Party to be able to vote internally on this issue a few years back (unwaged so I felt they weren’t getting much money out of me) as I’d really like an environmental political group that actually campaigned on environmental issues. But feeling like there really is no point doing that as they are so hateful and single minded (which would be fine if it was single minded on green issues). Is there anyone still a member that can convince me there’s a point to remaining?

FictionalCharacter · 07/06/2023 19:58

I'd love to see the evidence for this
trans people are often subject to serious employment or other discrimination, ridicule, harassment and hate crime
In many workplaces these days, this population is the most protected of all, even to the extent that we're encouraged to go on courses on "how to be an ally".
I've never in my life seen a course on how to be an ally to disabled people.

nilsmousehammer · 07/06/2023 20:05

The whole whining about 'you think they're a threat when they're lovely' (apart from the ones waving swords, sticking used tampons up their bums, taking selfies of their excitement with women in a loo <gibber> and videoing themselves wanking in cubicles when excitement gets overwhelming) totally avoids the bigger point.

It doesn't matter how lovely a male is. Some females have to walk out when they enter because they cannot use a mixed sex space

So if you're behind men using their preferred, happy choice that affirms their inner selves, you believe fuck inclusion, diversity and equality for women so menz can get nice self affirmation. That some women should have nothing so that men get choice,

No male walking into a women's space is 'lovely' when they are consciously excluding women and telling them they don't matter because lesser humans.

And that way bloody madness lies. And she'd only better hope that someone nastier than she is stupid uses her propped up 'some people are subhuman and that's ok' against people she cares about in the future. Because she'll only have hope, she'll have fucked the mechanisms that ensured this couldn't happen. Hoist by own petard will come.

nilsmousehammer · 07/06/2023 20:08

You've also got to wonder about basic capacity in someone who is an MP who apparently hasn't clocked or managed to care about inclusion or diversity and ensuring that women from vulnerable groups are not excluded, lose their equality of access, you know, basic basic stuff.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 07/06/2023 20:08

JulieHoney · 07/06/2023 18:38

She’s talking nonsense. Clarifying that sex is a biological thing doesn’t mean trans people aren’t protected under law. Their protected characteristic is gender reassignment, which would remain one of the 9 protected characteristics.

Indeed and they are also protected under sex, both there actual sex and, if they are discriminated against because someone thinks they are the opposite sex.

You should ask her whether she has listened to Kathleen Stock's Oxford Union q&a (send when the link).

PaleBlueMoonlight · 07/06/2023 20:10

Send *her the link.

Absolutely. When the legislation was passed no-one considered the possibility that sex would be interpreted as anything other than biological sex. All that is sought now is to ensure that the law is understood as originally intended.

trythisforsize · 07/06/2023 20:14

The Greens have only gone this way because they are kowtowing to the lobbying pressure from their biggest support base in Brighton. They are too weak to discuss the wider implications of this new gender ideology. They know that if they say just the slightest thing that questions all these brand new demands they'll lose their only foothold and disappear off the face of British politics. Weak, scared, therefore no ability to lead a country, let alone combat the environmental challenges we face. They've got themselves into quite a pickle.
Shame. My entire life and career is based on environmental action and the only party I would want to usually vote for has thrown me to the dogs for the sake of a bloke in a dress using the ladies loos.

SirVixofVixHall · 07/06/2023 20:19

Nellodee · 07/06/2023 18:09

How is it possible that we can predict and recite every argument made in that email response without even seeing it, yet gender ideologists are intentionally unaware of such basics as trans offending rates, the asymmetry of trans toilet usage with regard to safety, the nonsense of being treated as being a particular gender rather than sex. Sometimes you can just see the dent in the wall growing from banging your head against it so many times.

This.
She doesn’t mention safeguarding women and girls at all, apart from the brief mention of female trans people. She clearly doesn’t care at all about safety.
Also the constant use of “cis” so offensive.

BreatheAndFocus · 07/06/2023 20:20

I too left the Green Party because of the Challenor idiocy and the TWAW mantras.

As Caroline is so concerned about trans people’s privacy and dignity, why has she not mentioned other options that preserve the privacy of both women and trans people, eg third spaces? She can’t, can she, because then she’d have to admit that she knows full well TWANW. Once you say that thought-terminating mantra, you can’t divert from the c**tish path even if it’s leading you to stupid and unforeseen results.

I’m heartily sick of all the fawning women pandering to this. Not that we shouldn’t support trans people - we absolutely should - but other people have rights too, and they need to be balanced.

Boiledbeetle · 07/06/2023 20:20

Seriously does someone like stonewall give these people pre written paragraphs?

HermioneWeasley · 07/06/2023 20:21

How, how HOW are so many intelligent people taken in by this? HOW?
