This sounds horrendous. How can the police do this.

And yes, it was exactly as we predicted in the previous thread.

Should a certain police officer pop up in this thread, please try not to get drawn into protracted, repetitive arguments with him. Please!

We are literally turning into China.

I know not everyone loves them, but someone really needs to put a call into the editor at the Daily Mail - this requires plenty of media coverage.

It reminds me of Tudor treason trials. The very fact you're on trial proves you're guilty and the trial is to determine sentence and no, you can't see the evidence. It's a chilling day for free speech and for women if the police can make demands like that.

TrainedByCats · 07/06/2023 09:50

This is chilling and insane, poor Caroline.

Designed to stop other women speaking out due to fear of it happening to them as well

Pixiedust1234 · 07/06/2023 09:55

I've have never heard of any police force being given the right to enter premises between certain hours. That is just fucked up!

I wish Caroline the best of luck and perhaps a better lawyer.

NotTerfNorCis · 07/06/2023 09:57

You've not read about this before?

I know she's been aggressively stalked by a group of men, including one who knows how to play the legal system. But what she's saying now sounds so bizarre I thought I didn't understand it.

Felix125 · 07/06/2023 10:00

Happens quite a lot - residency orders from DVPO/DVPN etc

In essence, police are investigating an offence and we have a reporting person/victim who has reported an offence to the police. This is currently under investigation.

Whilst the investigation is ongoing, we have a duty to protect the reporting person/victim - so this is a method used to do this.

We present the facts to the court who will accept or decline the order. This will be in place for a set period of time or until the investigation concludes.

It will b very similar to a DVPO

This is probably why the 'paperwork' can't be disclosed yet as it still forms part of the investigation.

In court, all evidence must be submitted and the defence must have the right to read and digest in full. If this has not happened the case will immediately be adjourned, and questions will be asked as to why it was withheld in the first place.

When is the hearing?

I suggest we find out the date and time, the media should be invited, news channels and as much public support as we can muster. The galleries should be packed; it should be reported in all main stream newspapers.

IF the police are colluding with activists to silence the voices of women, and much worse certain women are being targeted and harassed under the gaze or with the implicit permission of the police then the shit now really needs to hit the fan. Very very publicly.

DrLouiseJMoody · 07/06/2023 10:03

Hi All,

Caroline's lawyer was informed of this on Monday afternoon (you may infer our private response). Of course they are dealing with it. Surrey are also denying having received her submissions.

I'm not going to discuss the parties involved or answer detailed Qs for obvious reasons. My general view is that my friend is now being abused, and made an example of, by Surrey Police who are behaving, if not unlawfully, certainly unethically and deliberately making it very difficult for her to defend herself.

Nothing is stopping me from drawing attention to their behaviour so I will continue to do just that.

IA very much not a lawyer but this, surely, is a basic principal of justice. How do you defend yourself if you don't know what the accusations are??

BlowDryRat · 07/06/2023 10:05

Bloody hell. That poor woman! My ex is a rapist and an abuser with a criminal record. I had an NMO out against him harassing me but let it drop because the police brushed me off every time I reported a breach.

All this for "misgendering" bollocks, when actual women are really dying on the police's watch? Fuck off.

I think the majority on here are of the same opinion!

Felix125 · 07/06/2023 10:07

GCalltheway

This is not the trial for the offence. Caroline has not been charged with anything yet. Therefore the case file is still on going and will not be disclosable at this stage

This is court hearing to impose an order. Her defence solicitor can appose it

As I said earlier - its like a DVPO

IcakethereforeIam · 07/06/2023 10:08

63 minutes.

Acqua · 07/06/2023 10:09

Are you allowed to say which court in Surrey and at what time?

AlisonDonut · 07/06/2023 10:10

How can you have an Offender Manager assigned to you, when you are not an actual Offender? Shouldn't that come after a conviction?

Boiledbeetle · 07/06/2023 10:10

IcakethereforeIam · 07/06/2023 10:08

63 minutes.

Large cooked breakfast to get through is my guess. That takes both hands

Acqua · 07/06/2023 10:11

... or will journalists be told about it? I know the Daily Mail is looked down upon on here but it is read by the masses.

Okay, so currently she hasn’t been charged with anything at all.

The DPVO itself may surely be declined by the courts? On what grounds do you suggest it will be granted?

CF usually means Cheeky Fucker so it took longer than usual to get the signal out.

Someone needs to call the DM. They will be all over it.

What the actual fuck????

Caroline, you have my full support and as much money as I can throw in your direction (sorry, it’s not much).

Please don’t let this shake your confidence in being right.

‘Misgendering’ is correctly sexing.

DM are probably already on it.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 07/06/2023 10:15

just donated to her citizengo page, hadn't heard of her really before now but this is a terrifying precedent and she deserves all the help she can get. Not sure if we can post links here but found it through her pinned tweet thread

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 10:15

I am sorry this is happening to Caroline, but sometimes it takes exactly this kind of thing to alert the public to the dangers of collusion with activists. Someone that is very informed is orchestrating from the shadows, it would be good to find out who they are.
