This sounds horrendous. How can the police do this.

And yes, it was exactly as we predicted in the previous thread.

Should a certain police officer pop up in this thread, please try not to get drawn into protracted, repetitive arguments with him. Please!

Surrey Police are massively over reaching. The man pulling their strings is a menace.

We definitely need a shit hot undercover journalist at this point.

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 11:40

I wonder if Surrey police beyond the organ grinder are genuinely imagining this is a good idea.

Brefugee · 07/06/2023 11:41

It is reminiscent of anti-terrorism legislation - that many of us pointed out at the time would be abused later - being used against climate change protestors etc.

I definitely think we're in the upside down. Maybe what we need is an anonomus forum where women can share stories of when their violent partner/stalker etc haven't even received a slap on the wrist, or where a non-mil has been refused for reasons beyond comprehension.

(the met police "safe space" thing up there made me gasp a bit)

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 07/06/2023 11:41

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/06/2023 11:20

my impression is that the police don’t help people like me

My local council tweets pics of the 'safe space' if you're out late and feel threatened. Manned by (male) Met officers (plural). One thing that doesn't make me feel is safe.

JFC you'd be safer taking a nap under the railway arches

Felix125 · 07/06/2023 11:41

You can't really use the term 'complainant' - the correct term is 'reporting person'

The reference to victim/reporting person is usually accepted however in any court case file.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 07/06/2023 11:42

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 11:37

Exactly my concern. These started life as domestic violence orders - the irony!

Isn't it ironic how these draconian measures are so often turned around to use against women? I wasn't aware it was DV that they originated for but that makes complete sense.
The political influence by trans activists on the police is doing so much harm - and so often to women and children. Harry's trenchant views about the College of Policing and their toxic role are well worth listening to.

Then stick to "reporting person". "Victim" implies that there definitely was a crime, and we simply don't know that yet.

I am new to this forum, but have a legal background so I appreciate the heads up re 🐿️ thank you.
It’s important I imagine that the forum remains a welcoming space to newcomers as many might be put off by the inside comments and club atmosphere.

Welcome! It's always nice to see a newcomer's perspective, providing they have some semblance of common sense and can show evidence if at odds to the majority. Doesn't matter if the thinking is different as long as there is actually some form of thinking involved 😉

DollyParkin · 07/06/2023 11:51

NotTerfNorCis · 07/06/2023 08:47

Can you summarise what's going on?

Problem is, if we are explicit, at the very least, the thread will be deleted and MN will be subjected to a barrage of complaints & threats of advertisers' boycotts, which will cause them to visit restrictions on US as posters.

JaneBeyre · 07/06/2023 11:51

Reminds me of Stasi Germany. Monitor people so closely they more or less buckle under the pressure, and no one else dare speak up for fear of being similarly treated.

itsmylife7 · 07/06/2023 11:53

Pixiedust1234 · 07/06/2023 10:48

@DrLouiseJMoody appreciate you putting it right that her lawyer is all over it, although it actually makes this more worrying. Just think how bad she could be treated if her lawyer wasn't that great (thinking of other women). It truly is frightening. Solidarity to Caroline on this matter ❤

I'm now starting to wonder who is "friends" with the top police in Surrey. I don't mean the complainent but some one/group who is chatting in his ear. Does he go to the same club as the Stonewall boss for instance. The puppetmasters at the top need an investigative journalist looking at them imo

100% this without a doubt. its got RED flags all over it.
(This needs undercover reporting)

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 11:54

I will say this, we have many sterling police officers and then we have the rest.

I despair at the sheer lack of critical thinking and expertise most weeks, and the activists appear to be taking full advantage of this - perhaps infiltrating the force itself and bending the legislation to suit it appears.

Of course orders can be used for any ‘vulnerable’ person - but define vulnerable and there you have the weakness in the system that can be exploited.

The reality is those that are truly vulnerable ( let’s say as an example a lady playing the organ for a church that has been accused of an offence) is then stripped of her rights and protections, unable to defend herself fully from persecution. The Modern slavery act is being used and abused in the same way by Albanian drug lords.

This is extraordinarily harmful to women and children and the system designed to protect them.

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 11:57

I do have confidence in our court system though. So let’s hope it’s thrown out, if they have any sense at all - it probably won’t make it there in the first place.

SerafinasGoose · 07/06/2023 11:58

Janie143 · 07/06/2023 09:32

Does she have a garden for legal assistance? She needs the best lawyer available to help her fight this.

I've just been reading her Twitter feed.

Apparently the vexatious litigant has ensured any efforts to this end have been closed down. From memory, one of the gardening sites did the same thing with Allison Bailey.

As CF points out in one of her tweets, this person sues people and then removes their ability to defend themselves.

The VL is a dangerous person. There really do need to be sanctions in law for people who abuse the legal system to persecute others. Not least questions to answer for the police forces which facilitate it.

DollyParkin · 07/06/2023 12:00

They weren't going to give her the allegations at all before court.

Is that even legal? It seems to go against all the principles of British justice.

It's going to be heard in a Magistrates Court, Magistrates don't have time to read large bundles. Surrey Police should think again or they will be ridiculed in the tabloids tmrw

DollyParkin · 07/06/2023 12:03

@DrLouiseJMoody Hi Louise, thanks for popping. Please give CF ALL our support and RAGE!!

Is there a garden for her we can help with?

SinnerBoy · 07/06/2023 12:03

Felix125 · Today 11:11

But yes - ban my freedom of speech.

Taking little notice of you isn't "banning your freedom of speech."

itsmylife7 · 07/06/2023 12:05

So they shut her 'garden ' what a bunch of dicks.
If only a very, very, rich person could Caroline the best Solicitor. We could all pay the rich person back !

Brefugee · 07/06/2023 12:07

i used to say this. Now i just think that except in very few circs, they are at the least going along with it. They are complicit. They are in cahoots with the "bad apples" (rotten to the core, IMO).

throwaway201809 · 07/06/2023 12:08

I’m so confused. Just to check, CF hasn’t been charged with anything, yet the police are wanting to put this OTT order in place that will have a massive impact on her day to day life? All because she states that people can’t change sex? Which is a scientific fact?

Magistrates have a duty to determine the basis of any order, and will be warned by legal advisors especially of any orders that are deemed contentious.

If there are clear faults with police procedure and the way the police have handled an investigation she could try complaining to the Police and Crime Commissioner. There role is to ensure that police do their job. They do not get involved in investigations.
