Indeed, if you were trying to ruin someone you could accuse them of such and such offence and request the most stringent of conditions and measures ‘for protection’ in a court order - supported by the police for the duration of the investigation that could run and run and for years regardless of outcome or innocence - if the order is successful tomorrow, and given it’s so punitive then the aim is already achieved without a proper hearing, much less actually achieving a conviction in a trial.
One could argue they will have achieved their aim, if granted, simply with the order - the outcome is almost irrelevant. A conviction would be the cherry on the top if it ever happens.
CF will be completely muzzled and surveillance put in place etc etc and her life, voice irretrievably compromised and damaged.
This should terrify anyone, as it could happen to anyone - for any reason, if this is allowed to
happen.
Tomorrows verdict is really really important and could set a precedent.
To say this is going to cause shockwaves is understatement. This is a direct attack at democracy, our human rights and an innocent woman’s life. I assume to try and intimidate us all to shut the hell up.
