This sounds horrendous. How can the police do this.

And yes, it was exactly as we predicted in the previous thread.

Should a certain police officer pop up in this thread, please try not to get drawn into protracted, repetitive arguments with him. Please!

Of course go for it!! The bigger the fuss the better. Maybe sky news can send some helicopters and we can bring Surrey to a standstill. I am all for public scrutiny.

New here you say?

A very warm welcome 😁

Fabulous to have someone knowledgeable of police procedure. 🥂

Datun · 07/06/2023 15:09

Someone sensible, I mean.

😊 Thank you! Obviously I have been on MN often over the years - so I have been aware of the difficult issues, but I didn’t discover this lovely spot until lately. I work extremely long hours.

Townsend is as gender critical as they come. If she doesn't want involved in this then that says a lot IMO.

Or it could be because Townsend is subject to the Nolan Principles and can't be seen to take sides in an active police investigation.

I am not entirely sure how pride will feel being implicated with this shit show. I wonder why you can’t see that support draining away?

Especially two days after the Oxfam fuckup.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 07/06/2023 15:17

Why do Surrey Police continually entertain this vexatious twat??

They should be telling him to fuck off, and then arrest him for harassment.

I'm almost positive that the Stonewall Index twaddle is at the heart of this, and Surrey Police don't want to slip down the ranks.

I hope Caroline has an excellent solicitor and he/she is working on it as we speak.

randomusername2020 · Today 15:16

So many people will have no idea about this. This case needs to hit the media, people need to be aware of what is happening.

I've just been trawling through the Daily Mail, but can find no trace of the story. I doubt that the Guardian will have anything, unless it's critical of Caroline Farrow and misleading in it's reportage.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 07/06/2023 15:02

People on Twitter seem to be harassing Townsend for answers as if she is going to magically make the police drop all investigations just because Farrow is a woman.

People bypassing the proper channels and using Twitter to complain is nothing new. That's how TRAs got Primark to make their changing rooms unisex in all but name. Of course, it's fine in your eyes when TRAs do it.

Ah, we have the answer here, for all of you. Luckily. Because where Felix operates there is no sexism or misogyny.

Did we not conclude, on an earlier thread, that he's actually PC Plum, from Balamory?

He's certainly A plumb.

What is clear from your post it feels like you are not aware that the public has turned on this issue, you seem to think if you turn up that will equate to support - it really just does the exact opposite. Maybe in your echo chamber of you can hear are cheers of solidarity but back on planet earth most people, and I do mean most people (men included) are sick to the back teeth of activists claiming the moral high ground and stripping others of their rights and protections. Most people have become aware of the damage and danger it is causing locking up rapists with women in cells etc. The obliteration of women’s rights and identities are now mainstream.

Where I live there is total vocal public agreement for women’s rights and spaces to be preserved and expanded whilst respectfully offering third spaces to those that need them.

You are not special Merlin.
Everyone has a right to live safely, comfortably and freely. Women and mothers included.

If you wish to protest go ahead, but with some awareness that you have drained the mainstream’s compassion dry by being so militant and refusing to understand the safety implications of your demands. You can’t win this, there is too much at stake.

Igmum · 07/06/2023 15:27

WTAF? That is INSANE.

(I suspect that might be CF's lawyer's opening line tomorrow.)

Presumably no sane judge will consider this for a second. IANAL but is there a sneakily GC Superintendent of Surrey Police who wants to award CF maximum damages? They cannot seriously do this, yet they have

Thank you PPs for listing bottles of urine and baseball bats. I had quite forgotten about those.

Perhaps the protestors will bring golf clubs this time?

Mustn't forget to bring a handy stupid MP to stand in front of a sign advocating death to terfs by beheading.

GCalltheway · 07/06/2023 15:36

If someone has told me 10-15 years ago this would happen in Britain today I would have laughed and said it wouldn’t even happen in China or Russia, now here we are….

It's a joyous place to be. Lots of food and things to sit on. Kept warm from the fire raging underneath our cauldron.

Good grief, if you want to be a copper you’ve got to have a thicker skin than that. They get far worse thrown at them day in day out.

Cat Tambourine GIF

I don't want bullhorn, they are so depressing. Much better to have a tambourine with its tinkly charms

DrBlackbird · 07/06/2023 15:41

If she isn't able to provide sufficient care for her children then perhaps social care services could step in to help?

This despicable, snide and sly insinuation is really the lowest. It was also made against a female politician and discussed on another thread. Like that incident, I assume this too is not being made by a mother. And in a strange way such ‘suggestions’ also reinforces just how clearly sex does matter. Because no one, absolutely no TRA would ever invoke this accusation against a father. Only ever against mothers knowing our children is our most vulnerable spot.

Or gets arrested whist cooking a roast! We might have had an easier time in medieval Britain when we only had to contend with the drownings. I find it fascinating anyone pees over the floor in protest to insist this is their history and life story too 🤷🏼‍♀️

Beware tambourines, sometimes those shaking them come at you shouting repent, motherfucker.

SabrinaThwaite · 07/06/2023 15:48

In 1541 Margaret Pole was executed without knowing what her alleged crimes were.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

How utterly charming. A gloriously feminine swan song of dignity and grace. An example to us all.

So just to recap:

Tomorrow
Guildford Magistrates Courts
9.30am

Tambourines not required.
