I've heard quite a few of the non-binaries say they are "neither sex"....they don't seem to understand they can identify as "non-binary", but it doesn't mean they then magically become neither sex!

That was my thought too. I can't imagine being that rude to just ignore what someone who works in the shop has said, just pushing past them and then having the gall to complain.

It shows an incredibly entitled mindset.
