If you like folksy ballards this might appeal.

But am really posting to show how LWS has gone global.

US musicians writing about events in NZ organised by UK campaigner!

"This is the Ballad of Posie Parker
Before it gets light it's gotta get darker
Down under in Auckland they thought that they could stop her
But she never loses 'cause she's the Posie Parker"

Note KJK didn't say anything like that, list any sort of behaviours, she just said T which stands for trans.

What do you think it is about trans rights activists that many people object to? Wondering if you're capable of engaging in good faith, or whether it's simply a waste of my time.

Is there any evidence that Parker regrets comments like these?

I don't know but you're probably right that there isn't any evidence. But, given all her failings to be the perfect communicator, can you criticise the underlying message?

Hepwo · 01/06/2023 23:09

He's too traumatised.

If transphobia spills over into homophobia, d'you know who is to blame?

Funny that trans rights activism has frequently "spilled over into homophobia". Who's to blame for that? Let me guess, it's women you don't approve of, isn't it.

I answered that question and you literally removed the answer. If a trans rights activist does or say something homophobic then that's on them. I am not wedded to all people that are pro trans rights any more than you are wedded to all people in the gender critical movement.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:13

I answered that question and you literally removed the answer.

What? When did I "literally remove the answer"? How can I do that? Or is this the typical trans activist meaning of "literally" as in "not at all"?

Hepwo · 01/06/2023 23:13

Are italics in the middle of your sentences a trauma symptom?

Would an energy bar help?

This comment of yours here, I don't think it's an argument, I think you're saying "you're just like all the other TRAs, who I don't like". Are YOU capable of engaging in good faith?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:17

Not going to answer the question then I see flaffy. Cool cool.

Is the repeated piss-taking about someone's username going to be your only contribution to the thread?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:18

It's just as valid as anyone else's.

Hepwo · 01/06/2023 23:20

Being traumatised is to be severely shocked and upset in a way that causes lasting emotional pain.

I don't think we can rush the recovery, have some compassion.

When the underlying message is ‘blame trans people for this homophobic attack on a child’… yes?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:17

Not going to answer the question then I see flaffy. Cool cool.

The question "what do you think it is about trans rights activists that many people object to?" Are you saying that's not rhetorical? If you actually want me to answer, then I don't know why many people object to trans rights activists. Maybe an online bubble effect like climate change denial.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:21

Here's a hint, it's the gaslighting and controlling behaviour previously mentioned, that you're disingenuously pretending isn't a key feature of the movement.

We'll that's not a slap in the face to me because I don't agree that's the case. So.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:24

It's compelled speech and histrionic
tantrums about misgendering and having to hear other people's dissenting opinions, at the same time as making, encouraging or condoning violent threats to women, sometimes involving sexual fantasies about raping them.

It's something that is a material fact, which can be evidenced. Not something you can handwave away.

TraumatisedGooner · 01/06/2023 23:26

What I’m getting from all this is you’re finding it very difficult to come up with any defence for Parker’s comments.

My DC didn’t write the song. They saw it online and shared it.

Are you confused traumatised? You are not in a court case. No one has to "come up with any defence".

Do you know the actual difference between fact and opinion? I think I learned it in year 5, there was cutting and sticking involved.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:29

I agree with her that there was always going to be a right wing backlash against anything yoked to the trans activist movement, due to the reasons already mentioned. We've discussed this in FWR for years. I think she's wrong to assume anything about this particular case.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 23:30

Oh, have you completed year 5 then?
