Purveyors of overpriced fruit pulp, Innocent, have been tweeting today some advice for being more inclusive. Seems like the internet is broken at Innocent HQ as no-one seems to have spotted why Mermaids have been in the news just this weekend (never mind over the last few months, and the ongoing investigation by the Charity Commission). Don't brand managers ever check if a partner might be a bit detrimental to their own reputation?

Fill your gender identity bingo cards with tweets about deadnaming, misgendering and mixed-sex toilets. Why a drinks brand feels the need to shout this at Twitter users is beyond me.

It's only been up for an hour or so and you can imagine how it's going down on Twitter!

When there are loads of views but hardly any likes. A recent tweet by Nancy Kelley of Stonewall had over a million views and (afaikr) about 400 likes.

Basically, when the number of replies and/or quote tweets outnumbers the number of likes - i.e. more people disagree than agree.

Visibility of the number of views is actually a fairly recent feature. It's more about how people engage.

Found it. It was over 3 million and just over 200 likes.

Comments had been 'only mentioned' so engagement was minimised but it's always interesting to read the Quote Tweets if there's loads of them.

I'm just writing to let you know, as a supporter and mum of 4 who has spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds on your products over the last decade, I will never buy one of your products again.

Your tweet regarding the charity Mermaids who are under investigation for child safety issues and appointed a paedophile to their board has completely decimated any brand loyalty I held for your company.

I would think very carefully about who your target demographic is and who holds the purse strings in regards to the weekly shop. Typical mums. Mum's who recognise the danger in gender ideology trend and will do anything to protect their children from falling victim to it.

Including boycotting virtue signalling companies who align themselves with charities that activitly encourage child genital mutilation.

So Im quite enjoying all this, reading all the responses to their new announcement and thankfully many people are pointing out that gender or gender identity is not a protected characteristic (and nor should it be) but sex is.

Actually, considering some of the god-awful concoctions that Innocent has come up with, I'm not at all surprised by the current position.

Innocent identitying as a healthy drink has always irritated me. But yes, now two reasons not to buy them.

That's because it's hiding in a box smaller than it is.

Generally, looking at the responses to a tweet suggest how it's been received.

If a tweet has many views, few 'likes', and lots of comments, that suggests a 'ratio' of people disagreeing with it.

So, Nancy Kelley's tweet supporting the transwoman playing rugby had 3 million views, and about 200 'likes'.

She'd turned comments off, for some reason.
