Correct. When setting up a campaign the currency is based on the country in which the campaign is located.
Donating to a Campaign in a Different Currency
GiveSendGo hosts campaigns from around the world, and generosity knows no borders. You can donate to any campaign regardless of where you're located.
How Currency Works on GiveSendGo
The donation form displays amounts in the campaign's local currency, the currency of the country where the recipient is based. For example, if you're donating from the UK to a campaign based in Kenya, the amount will appear in Kenyan Shillings (KES).
GiveSendGo does not display a conversion to your local currency during checkout. You'll be charged the equivalent of the amount you enter in your own currency, based on the exchange rate applied by your card or bank at the time of the transaction.
Check the Conversion Rate Before You Donate
To confirm how much you'll be paying in your own currency before completing your donation, use a free online currency converter, such as:
Google Currency Converter
XE
Enter the campaign's displayed amount and select your local currency to see the equivalent.
Conversion Fees
GiveSendGo does not charge currency conversion fees. However, your bank or card provider may apply a foreign transaction fee when processing a payment in a different currency. Check with them directly if you have questions about applicable fees or exchange rates.
When you complete your donation, your card or bank will handle the currency conversion. The amount on your statement will reflect your local currency equivalent at the rate applied at the time of processing.
Thank you for giving across borders. Every donation is a tangible expression of hope reaching someone who needs it. For a full walkthrough of the donation process, see Making a Donation on GiveSendGo.
