New British Cycling trans policy

The new British Cycling policy goes public at 11am tomorrow. Anyone dare to speculate on the outcome? Will it be a win for women?

The science is settled. Emily is male. However Emily feels about that, that fact is never going to go away. I have sympathy for Emily that this is not as Emily would wish.

Emily however is going to have to find ways to meet Emily's needs that do not trample over the rights of female humans or use them as nothing more than resources for Emily. Emily can compete in an open category. Emily could campaign for TW specific categories.

This is the right and only way for all of it to go. Prisons, cycling, all single sex spaces. TW are male and can neither mug the female half of the human race for what they feel they need, nor remove resources and make them untenable for females. They will need to accept that some things must remain female only because other people matter as much as they do.

TWATW. And that's great. But females are females and have needs of their own.

EB's statement reads like an awful lot of foot stamping. Still able to compete, but in the category aligned with EB's sex.

The statement from E Bridges is a rambling, drama filled, hyperbolic long winded way of saying I'm not allowed to cheat.

I too am disgusted about the way the term genocide is thrown about by TRAs, it is offensive they are minimising, dismissing and cheapening the true horror of genocide.

The evidence points one way. Science is never "settled" in the sense that when some evidence comes in that shows trans women don't have an advantage then science will rethink. But the existing evidence says they do have an advantage and so the science is settled for practical purposes.

And for some people the science will never be "settled" until it settles the way they want it to. No amount of evidence will change that. Luckily those people don't always get to make the rules.

In as far as no one did research as the evidence of our own eyes was sufficient. Just compare men's and women's records shows you the difference in black and white. The research that has been done on lowering testosterone (to still 10 times an average woman's level) shows that it no way mitigates the other advantages of having gone through male puberty. Trying to pass off Harper's deeply flawed studies as science will no longer work as only the ideologically captured will accept it. I'm not sure deeply flawed is an accurate description, laughable might be better.

This is why is not kind to tell children or adults that they can change sex. They can’t. It’s the opposite of kind to facilitate biological delusions. At some point reality hits.

I think the point is that two wrongs don't make a right. This government has had serious issues. British Cycling may also have serious issues (I wouldn't know).

But government policy on refugees has absolutely nothing to do with cycling policies so there's absolutely no reason why Emily has included this in Emily's rant, it just makes Emily look like a toddler melting down because they've been told they can't have any more Haribo.

It is still permitted internationally in cycling though isn't it? Most sports it was banned internationally before domestically. it also doesn't apply to grassroots so they are still well behind other sports from that pov.

But good news as a step forward, cycling looked like it was about to descend into utter lunacy.

Being told that you can compete in sport, but only in your correct sex category is a million miles from genocide.

I suppose if your used to always getting your own way, and until recently able to easily silence other views, having to live in the real world must be a shock to the system. But genocide it is not.

If they are confused enough to think that they can change sex or that changing 'gender' means they can be treated as the opposite sex then it's not too surprising that they are confused enough to think that people stating truths means people want them dead or to take away their human rights.
