Uses she/her throughout, ‘one woman show’ etc etc - calling anyone who disagrees that TWAW ‘fascists’.

Every time I think I’m inured to this rubbish I read or see something that makes me despair. What a pathetic, preening liar he is.

‘I’m going for it like crazy’: Eddie Izzard on her one-woman, 19-role Great Expectations

After 30 years, the standup star is now finally winning acting plaudits, for a ‘tour de force’ take on Dickens with sharper punchlines – and Hamlet is next

I can only think that inside Eddie is avery sad little boy who needs his mum.

Making out he is "Suzy" has to be some kind of bent out of shape coping. He wants to createthe original woman he lost. His mum.
This is Eddie not any other Trans women. Everyone is different.

I have a theory that transwomen have mummy issues and male politicians have daddy issues.

Do you think he knows that pink isn't magical?

Oh come on. All women wear pink.

Not without noticing. Without commenting.

Partly out of a sense of be kind. Partly because a man dressed as a hooker groping his crotch in the ladies is a very scary man. Which why all the women in the photo posted previously are looking at their phones and otherwise refusing eye contact with him.

It's not that they haven't noticed. It's that they're trying to avoid making themselves a target.

This. Without commenting. That is the point.

They are investigating it. I guess because there were some 'out there' ideas speculated on if you get my drift.

FrancescaContini · 03/05/2023 08:23

Yes, I can imagine that some posters’ comments were very pointed.

Ohyoudodoyou · 03/05/2023 08:49

There are probably many, many gender neutral
Toilets on coffee shops and restaurants around there. He had to do it there, didn't he? The arrogance of the man.
I doubt he would have been challenged if he had just gone into the men's at St Pancras, international travellers passing through.

Florissante · 03/05/2023 08:50

That photo tells me everything I need to know about Izzard.

Why was the other thread deleted yesterday?

Because women will just not be angry naicely and dick-supportively enough.

Villagetoraiseachild · 03/05/2023 17:27

Yes, why was that thread pulled?
Was so looking forward to reading it today and it's the one where it would be most useful to have answers.
Asking why and what lies behind is the most pertinent question.

A propos Eddie, he's just not reading the room, in this case the Women's Room.

I had my last comment deleted for saying something (imo) completely innocuous about him

Gosh that picture has gone a long way, hasn't it?

TWETMIRF · 03/05/2023 21:03

Why is that lovely lady in a queue with a bunch of men?

It’s funny isn’t it? Wearing pink, make up and high heels obviously make you a woman. Those silly other people haven’t quite cracked it yet what with their trousers an all.

Villagetoraiseachild · 04/05/2023 23:00

That thread is still being looked at...
Will it ever reappear?
Am guessing that one of the regular derailers reported it.
Surely it is enough to remove the rule breaking comments?

I have nothing against Eddie as a human being or actor. I had a chat with him once and he was very positive about women in stand up. I would just feel very uncomfortable and boundary transgressed if I met him in a public toilet. And I find it disappointing that his insistence on being in those spaces overrides any empathy in the matter.

The one with the photo of women, including a transwoman, waiting to use the toilet which was taken and shared online without their consent?

Perhaps because it's stalking and harassment, and it's also immoral to take people's photos without their permission.

The photo resulted in the transwoman being threatened by violence online, which has been reported to police.

TinselAngel · 04/05/2023 23:50

Who is the trans woman? (I thought transwoman was transphobic?) I thought Izzard is Gender Fluid?

TinselAngel · 05/05/2023 00:08

Also 1st rule of misogyny: women are responsible for what men do.

This is the thread with the photos, they are just up the page. But I've included them here as well.

Taking photos in public spaces is not illegal and like it or not you don't need the consent of the people you photograph. It's also not stalking, or harassment.

You know what is immoral? A MAN using the women's toilets. And not just once but twice.

A man made the threat, I don't know who took the photo.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 05/05/2023 00:24

"It's also not stalking, or harassment."

It can be depending on context and intent.

Will the police do anything? They usually don't when women report violent in line threats.

I'm not condoning any violent threats but we need to be clear that TW who use women's facilities are behaving very badly and some women will feel very violated. The fact that violent threats is a problem does not mean that women should not be drawing attention to those victimising men. Especially given that the police are not using their powers appropriately to protect women.

I’d say it’s also “immoral” to use the wrong toilets. Men shouldn’t be in women’s spaces.
