Human beings can't change sex. If you believe that, you need to start unpicking what you have been told.

Mothering= an act of parenting done by a woman. Personally I think this can include transwomen as it can be socially defined and like you said, adoption, fostering etc are ways to become a mother.

Having babies- growing a foetus in a womb then giving birth to it. Only female humans can do this, regardless of how they identify.

If people could "change sex" then trans women could have babies. Not one ever has.

Whether they can give birth or not or have a womb (or not) they all have a vagina. Which trans women don't have. Because they are men.

So there are two people who identify as women who go to the doctor because they can't get pregnant.
One is referred for tests to find out why they are finding it hard.

One is told to go away because of course they aren't going to get pregnant.

That's the basic difference between women and trans women.

It's insulting to imply women who have trouble getting pregnant are equivalent to males who identify as women.
