Sorry Kalimba I phrased that very badly, I was agreeing with you! The 'twit' was in agreement with your comment that Glinner was mocking -just really not very wisely, and meant for Glinner, not you.

Ahh no problem - thanks for clarifying!

Norma27 · 16/04/2023 21:20

Just to annoy the TRAs on this thread, Glinner is back on twitter

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 16/04/2023 21:21

Well thats good

I assume he appealed it and they were happy with the offending tweet in context

Norma27 · 16/04/2023 21:25

I presume so. I don’t know the details but he is back. I also presume the TRAs on this thread will condemn the attack on an elderly man by a TRA member of staff/manager today in a pub which also refused to serve women in suffragette colours.

SIothtoes · 16/04/2023 21:27

That’s an outrageous and inciting to violence tweet from Stephen Whittle. ‘A New Zealand Welcome’. With pictures of KJK post liquid attack, I’m really disgusted that someone who considers themselves to respect the law would ever post such a thing.

CampervanKween · 16/04/2023 21:34

Just discovered that "Stephen" went to the posh all girls private school Withington Girls School in Manchester. So again comes from a privileged background, yet is encouraging violence on social media.

Notaflippinclue · 16/04/2023 21:53

Few threads on twitter begging Elon to take Glinner back - hurrah so he should

Great day today in Belfast. All went peacefully. PSNI were good, was lovely to meet @Glinner & hear all the brave speakers, especially to hear from some younger girls & women who spoke so well! 💚

Yes it was a really wonderful day. So great to meet so many local women and men pushing back against this ideology. I met ex Alliance Party members like me, ex Green party members, retired social workers, concerned parents, teachers and many young people. It gave me hope.

Datun · 17/04/2023 00:04

I've just watched the woman in Belfast, raw as hell and shaking, talking about the trauma of her mastectomy. The two women in the background wiping their eyes and embracing each other in a spontaneous act of support.

And KJK, brushing away tears and physically supporting the speaker while she finished her harrowing speech.

And, faintly, in the background you can hear those revolting people singing and dancing and trying to drown out these women's voices.

There's not a person on the planet, other than a handful of violent misogynists, who can't see exactly who is standing on the right fucking side of history.

I know KJK ends her videos with I never lose. I can guarantee you, she's absolutely bloody right.

Any shred of credibility yous may have tried to had went up in smoke when the mic was handed to Jolene Bunting. The fact that someone is willing to align themselves with her screams their true values loud and clear.

dunBle · 17/04/2023 07:12

Who's Jolene Bunting?

Writers square and the MAC are the songs for solidarity events.

Where were all these GB "feminists" when we were campaigning for access to abortion and equal marriage?

GB, England in particular has been unwavering in allowing Irish women to come over for abortions. Liverpool has (had) a hospital suite specifically for Irish women and their partners for horrific cases like fatal foetal abnormality. Countless women’s groups allowed Irish women stay in their homes so they could afford abortions, GB abortion agencies tried to reduce their fees for us knowing for many women the costs were very difficult.

London and elsewhere were welcoming of our gays who had to leave home.

It’s thanks to British media many of us know we had abortion options when the Irish government had pages torn out of Cosmopolitan magazine to deny us agency.

Those of us concerned about the mutilation of children stand with our GB sisters in doing the right thing.

I’m delighted that GB women came to Belfast and hope they will come to Dublin too. The Irish minister in charge of this, gay, he’s totally captured by the trans ideology. And the Irish minister in charge of education, female, has been overwhelmed with letters complaining over the sex education in schools. Her department is also captured but they had to remove an outrageous book for children last week. Thanks to activist parents and women like me who have learnt so much from welcoming GB websites like this one.

They had to turn replies off but there are a lot of quote treats.

See how many cowards there are turning away their heads or wearing masks. If they were genuine you wouldn’t do that.

No idea who this is but you get that it is a 'let women speak' event?

So any woman can speak?

I mean, that is the whole point of it right?

AlisonDonut · 17/04/2023 07:39

Cailin66 · 17/04/2023 07:34

They do it because they are creating a narrative that their lives are in danger.

Cailin66 · 17/04/2023 07:34

I suspect that most of the mask wearers ae only doing so because that is what others are doing, or because that is 'what they do'. They are probably unaware it has its origins first in the anarchist movement, then via the anti-fascists - then onward via the politics of antifa in the U.S. nothing to do with human rights - just angry mob stuff and without any personal responsibility.

The naked imbalance of power that such face covering conveys cannot surely be lost on maybe even just a few? So much for victimhood. The only brave people present were those taking the mic to speak - openly and publicly.

Cailin66 · 17/04/2023 08:31

That bus is less than half full, so if that's all they could muster from Dublin it's a pathetic showing. I still think they are hiding who they are, Ireland is so small they would be identified immediately. So I think that's why some are hiding and others are wearing masks.

Seriously? Britain First?

Even fascists and racists? Yikes. Critical thinking is key to being a feminist not just cosying up with every bigot going.

I've no clue who she is, and no idea what Britain First is either.

Brackenfield · 17/04/2023 08:45

Says a lot that the supposed supporters of this event are playing dumb about who else was in attendance.

Have a look at the comments section on local news covering this. It's full of men whos only view on women is their value for baking or breeding, the fact that they've seen this event as an acceptable women's viewpoint is very concerning.

We in NI are still struggling with abortion and helathcare access for women, please through even a smidge of your energy behind that, women are dying and our politicians and silent.

Clymene · 17/04/2023 08:55

Letting women speak isn't 'cosying up'. If it's only right wing men's voices speaking out in favour of women's right to single sex spaces, then that's a failure of the left.

Women are not responsible for what men do.

As for abortion rights, Mumsnet and women who use MN donated over £20k several years ago to help women in NI access safe abortion. I believe Posie Parker still posted on here at that point.

Honestly you've got a nerve when trans activist events are being supported likes of Katie Dolatowski and Sarah Jane Baker and that latest knife-wielding creep "Sophie from Mars". Not to mention the increasing number of Bolshevik flags being flown. Are these the type of people that you align yourself with?
