It’s been reported to the authorities.

Take your incitement-to-violence-against-women apologia elsewhere.

You've entirely missed my point. If people go to the locations mentioned they won't find PP. Are people to avoid the entirety of Belfast today? Cop on.

I can just picture the PSNI getting reports that a man told people to go to to an entirely seperate event to PPs and somehow that's incitement. The GB police might have little to be at but this is NI.

WarriorN · 16/04/2023 12:11

Yes the tweet has been deleted for violation of rules

Hepwo · 16/04/2023 12:14

Laughing about police disinterest in violent threats against women brackenfield?

Violent threats that invariably come from the people you will be meeting with today?

These are the things you have to do for transfeminism!

The teeet mentions The Big Fish and that's where the Let Women Speak event is being held so you're talking crap

PriOn1 · 16/04/2023 12:28

Interesting that Whittle identified the neonazi message as being personally applicable. If not a paedophile, why would a banner which says “Destroy paedo freaks” be in any way offensive?

Interesting that the mask is finally coming off. I wonder if it’s related to retirement or merely that the wheels are coming off the trans train. Whittle has been incredibly successful in terms of driving this ideology, but it only works when there is no rational thought or equality consideration.

I expect realising failure is coming, at the hands of the women you have always despised, must be galling. And Whittle is clever enough to see what’s coming.

I haven’t missed your point at all.

Care to denounce Whittle’s comments?

Writers square and the MAC are the songs for solidarity events.

Where were all these GB "feminists" when we were campaigning for access to abortion and equal marriage?

JacquelinePot · 16/04/2023 12:35

What's that thing Dennis Kavanagh says about the three stages...? One being the "howl of the zealots" if I recall correctly...

raspberrywine · 16/04/2023 12:37

I can’t stand how Whittle is so disingenuous and slippery.

Whittle, OJ, Ash Sarkar, Katie M etc can be disingenuous and slippery because no one who follows or agrees with them bother to look beyond the tweet and actually dig into the context. That is what these individuals are relying on, after all.

This?
Do not lose heart and do not give them your hope. They want that most. What you are seeing is the descent into violence. Violence occurs where political movements fail. This one has. What you are witnessing are the claws and fangs and lashing out of a cornered monster.

I've seen Whittle posting here. Didn't address any concern raised. Just kept on pushing the ideology and ignoring women who don't agree. Ghastly person.

There's not much we mainland Brits can do to change the laws in a different jurisdiction, and we'd be branded "white imperialists" and "colonialists" if we tried, because some people within Irish feminism are there to spit bile at the English instead of supporting women. What I was, and still am, doing, is donating to Abortion Support Network. Despite the awful things that their CEO Mara says about "Terfs" and their nausea-inducing use of "pregnant people", I refuse to withdraw my financial support for Irish women who have gone over the time limit and need to travel to terminate a pregnancy. This is what "international solidarity" and "women's rights support" look like: refusing to stop helping women who need it, even when the people who organise the support call you names.

This is something that lawmakers and policy makers really need to get their heads around.

When you are working with someone who passionately stands for having stepped aside into their own, selective reality rather than objective reality, with unwanted facts discarded, operating on a system of requiring others to protect them at all times from the unwanted facts and realities no matter how serious the impact of those realities are on others...... ? You cannot keep just that one matter of selective reality in a box, and expect them to share reality and objectivity on everything else.

It's a bit "well apart from the death of your husband Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"

Clymene · 16/04/2023 13:31

Whittle's tweet mentioned 3 locations, including The Big Fish which is where LWS is happening.

I know that because I'm watching it live right now. Excellent woman from Dublin speaking now.

Whittle turned 67 last May.

I’m pretty sure I got the retirement info from this video (will have to re listen for a time stamp). Whittle goes right into defamation territory towards the end, even muttering an expletive. It’s quite informative.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=unOuiQ8Km4I&embeds_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fprideinleadership.co.uk%2F&source_ve_path=MjM4NTE&feature=emb_title

I went to listen to near the end but never quite got there because of this:

A member of the audience had asked what is the one thing a business could do for their trans colleagues.

Whittle answered that it could be ‘little things’ just to show you remember they are there ( in other words NOT accepting them as just like anyone else , interestingly), for example like celebrating Trans Day of Remembrance.

Then Whittle added that, as an example of something similar, we celebrate ‘Eid’ ….
can you believe it?

Imagine comparing celebrating being trans to celebrating a major religious holiday of the world!

S’Whittle really does have a peculiar perspective on the world.

I read Glinner’s tweet as a mocking impression of Whittle’s tweet about the NZ “welcome” for KJK. “Durrrrr I’m gonna kill them” - I didn’t see that as meaning he, Glinner, was going to kill people. He was mocking Whittle’s incitement to violence.

Sigh.

Twit.

Threats and violence never appropriate regardless of who does it, humour about violence isn't funny particularly following the woman with the fractured skull in NZ, and Glinner fully deserved to be deleted, just as Whittle did. Although worth mentioning that only one of those two unacceptable tweets held a real risk of causing someone to be injured today, it still doesn't justify it.

GailBlancheViola · 16/04/2023 14:05

Right as ever @nilsmousehammer .

@Glinner you've been in this for long enough to know exactly how your joke/sarcastic response would be interpreted and now, once again, you have handed the TRAs a gift to say See, your side threaten to kill us plus now the focus is on that and you and not women's rights.

Agree. He was very foolish. Should know better.

Yes, it’s a difficult one because we all want to be nice and accepting

but the fact is that a person who wants to force you to pretend that things that aren’t true are in fact true, needs careful watching

that’s not to say they shouldn’t be able to live their lives just like the rest of us, but it does mean that if they ask you for something, you should think very carefully before acquiescing. Because they have form for being unreasonable
