Do people with no hair usually carry hairspray incase others need it?

Seeing as though what I was reading went poof.

Dylan isn’t well-intentioned at all. The whole “thing” is to be provocative and then play innocent victim when people respond, using false positivity to make veiled threats. Dylan told women who were grossed out by his obsession with tampons to watch what they say because Dylan would “hate” for those tweets to come back and ruin peoples lives. Dylan is chilling in the way Dylan uses toxic positivity to bully people.

This is what Dylan does all the time - act offensively and then when women point that out, it’s all how Dylan is sweet, and positive, and “loves ya” and how could anyone pick on poor Dylan. In fact, there’s a well-worn model for this behaviour which is usually called being a Karen when real women do it - using fake tears, and claims to victimhood to threaten and cause harm to others - but when Dylan does it no one points that out.

Absolutely right. Dylan is only about Dylan, and is deeply sinister and bullying under that manic shrieking grin.

It’s a sad day when a major sports brand uses a male to sell sports bras… and an even sadder one when a website for mothers tells us we have to pretend that male is female.

Totally agree, we've lost any hope for decent healthy dialogue in debates, now being censored, vilified, called by insulting names to shut us up.
Humans are regressing.

oakleaffy · 09/04/2023 16:00

I NEVER thought such heavy censorship would occur on a Women’s forum-
Where we can’t state that a person with a penis is a MALE.

It’s very worrying and deeply concerning.

Misstache · 09/04/2023 16:02

And it’s not only that Nike cut the contracts to pregnant women - oh sorry I mean gestators of unspecified biological sex and origin - it’s that they also pressured women to stay with the NOP when they were being sexually assaulted and abused by their coach and cut the contracts of women who left. Mary Cain was abused and began cutting herself while on a Nike contract as a teenager and Nike did nothing. After the NCAA very few track and field athletes get contracts, and women are living in their cars while paying their own way to Olympic Trials. Women get offered less than male athletes. Top athletes don’t even have contracts. And it’s the same in sport after sport. My physiotherapist office was fundraising for women trying to go to weightlifting worlds. The money they paid Dylan could have gone to female athletes to pay for coaching, or travel to competition, or rent so they only have to work part time or pay for health insurance or physio - it’s just over a year to the next Olympics and instead of investing in actual struggling female athletes for whom this endorsement could be the difference in qualifying, they pay Dylan.

Perhaps Mumsnet could come onto the thread and tell us all why they are continuing to censor women? Why they feel that they need to police what subjects women find 'helpful', what Mumsnet feel about the absolute shit show that is women discussing their rights here on Mumsnet? Why can't they go further than deleting threads or comments or will they be complicit in the silencing of women? Please Mumsnet- tell us where us mere women with an opinion stand?

Mirabai · 09/04/2023 16:11

A female athlete in the ad modelling real female shape.

What is the message to women and girls when Nike is promoting a completely unrealistic body shape for women? Just as the media starts to use more realistic female models of different sizes and shapes, suddenly companies start using men instead?

bellinisurge · 09/04/2023 16:11

It is

and the rules changing and words being allowed one day and banned the next was just a tiny bit of it, but had a big impact because you were never sure what would be deleted, women would be rightly outraged because interesting and erudite posts would be deleted for one word that was allowed on monday but not on Tuesday

plus that whole ‘not in the spirit thing’!!!

Dylan Mulvaney is a man

I just got deleted for a post of one word only which was 'he' in response to a poster who called him 'she' throughout her post.

Truly fucking dystopian MNHQ.

Flowerly · 09/04/2023 16:18

Oh and I stand with you bellinisurge - DM is a man.

ImSweetEnoughDarlin · 09/04/2023 16:21

I wouldn't ask a man for a tampon.

I wouldn't ask a woman for a tampon either.

I'd improvise until I could get to a shop.

Who are all these women hanging about in toilets asking for sanpro? I've never seen any Confused

Dylan Mulvaney is a man. He is not a she.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 09/04/2023 16:59

I've lost my sense of what is being said on which thread, but agree with whoever it was that raised the issue of potential contamination of a tampon offered by a 'helpful' stranger, woman, transwoman or anything else.

I suspect women's charyness about asking to borrow even from a trusted friend isn't so much around squeamishness or foolish reticence, but about the awareness that just as a clean tampon can kill from toxic shock if it isn't removed in good time, a tampon from an unknown source could introduce something not wanted into the body.

So - young girls need to know not to accept unsolicited loans (and why not to), to borrow a pad if possible if they do have to ask a friend, and all about loo-paper winding.

The instinctive feeling that DM is very creepy about this isn't transphobia, it's a reaction to a dangerous pattern of behavior.

CordyLines · 09/04/2023 17:06

This man is trolling, and making a fortune by doing it.

DM is laughing at those who believe he is a woman and at those who believe the caricature. He is not a woman he is a GURRLLL. All 365 days of girlhood.

That person is a man mocking women and possibly mocking the whole Trans movement too.

GreyfriarsBobbie · 09/04/2023 17:07

well said.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 09/04/2023 17:10

It would be dangerous if a woman (XX chromosomes) did it. The vagina is a vulnerable site - I had a friend who nearly died after forgetting to remove a tampon at the end of her period.

zen1 · 09/04/2023 17:28

I’m absolutely sick of people trying to compel my speech and make me lie. Everyone needs to start calling this ideology out. Not relevant to the thread, but my teenage DS went for an interview for a Saturday job last week and the first question they asked him was, “what are your pronouns?” FFS. This was a regular high street chain.

Fizbosshoes · 09/04/2023 17:30

Just 1% of sports sponsorship goes to female athletes.....and then they choose DM ....who is neither biologically female or a professional athlete.....to model a sports bra (and kit) .

Of all the amazing and talented female athletes they could have chosen...they chose...none of them!

Yes MNHQ. Perhaps you can explain to the women on this thread why you felt it was necessary to cause such profound offence and upset. Your silence on this gives the impression that the feelings and rights of women seem to be less important to you than the wants of corporate sponsors and the baying mob who want us silenced . It absolutely breaks my heart to have to ask you that question because I assumed this was a safe space for women to have challenging discussions with other women about things that matter. This no longer feels like a place we can have those conversations.

Bunpea · 09/04/2023 17:44

He does it because he’s a weirdo…

On the other hand, he’s making a lot of money out of his trans behaviour e.g. recent sponsorship deal he has is one from Nike to promote their sports bras…which apparently fit him well…so of course they will fit biological women too 🤔), so perhaps he’s not weird, he’s just making a stash load of money and doesn’t care who he offends.
Frankly he makes me sick.

Quite! And we aren’t allowed to express our displeasure that female athletes have lost out to this biologically male ‘girl’ parody.

Most women only carry tampons/towels when you're on anyway. I've only ever got them in my bag at that time of the month I don't carry them all the time and have never been asked for one anyway so I don't know why Dylan feels the need to have them on him at all times 🤷

Well, I imagine he carries them to strap onto any bloody sports related injuries he might have because sure as shit he isn't going to bleeding from his vagina.
