Do people with no hair usually carry hairspray incase others need it?

Seeing as though what I was reading went poof.

This made me look up Dylan Mulvaney, I'd never heard of Dylan before. Why all the 'girlhood' talk (as in 'Day 234 of girlhood!') - Dylan is clearly an adult so wouldn't be a 'girl' in any world.

Dylan's ad for beer is all 'I don't know anything about sport or teams but I like alcohol, you should too' <cutesy high pitched giggle>

Dylan is acting out a parody of woman. It's so insulting.

The funny thing about bud light is they totally missed the target if it was supposed to be aimed at women... In America bud light drinkers are usually truckers & frat boys.. Not sure how they will feel being associated to Dylan M..

Actually I agree with this, I can only imagine the shit MN has had from the TRAs.

I agree with bits of it

i don’t think they’ve been ‘great’ about this

and I also don’t think everyone should thank them, some women have been very upset at some of the actions of MNHQ around this.

but lots of women have thanked them over many threads and personally I appreciate how very difficult it must be treading a fine line

SirChenjins · 09/04/2023 10:01

it’s been a shitload more than ‘some’

It seems a widespread fantasy, trans women think we all share pads/tampons in the cubicles and ‘bond’.

If you’re not my sister, good friend or daughter I’m not going to be asking you for sanitary products, I’ll be rolling up loo roll as a makeshift pad til I get home/to a shop!

Absolutely

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 09/04/2023 10:08

Some means an unspecified number or amount

can cover 2, 10, 1000 or indeed a shitload

RealityFan · 09/04/2023 10:09

PyjamaFan · 09/04/2023 10:04

Absolutely

I can almost imagine some men brazenly going into women's loos, sabotaging tampon machines, and hanging about to offer supply.

I say "almost" imagine because I hate to do my mental health more damage than TRAs have achieved already.

Rosesbloomingnow · 09/04/2023 10:27

I find this thread very helpful. My dd has thought I'm horrific, transphobic etc due to my views and wouldn't listen long enough for next to say I wish every transperson a happy and fulfilling life, my concerns were about safeguarding and erasure of female safe spaces. Now I think she is more switched on to some of the hypocrisy and blatant nonsense spouted by some TRAs. It's very helpful for me to see how other parents with teens navigate this issue

Bláthannabuí · 09/04/2023 10:31

@Rosesbloomingnow I feel the same my dc are younger & very sheltered to be honest! I'm hoping the gender identity trend has passes by the time they get to the teenage years.

It’s a shitload - far more have complained about the vile behaviour of the TRAs and about being silenced on here than 2 or 10.

Apocalypticdays · 09/04/2023 10:58

As others have said, in a period emergency, you’d stuff your knickers with loo roll and hope for the best,

Yes, we all know that but I guess Dylan won't what with being male.

Also nike bras are shite, tampax are the worst tampons ever and I don't understand how any woman can wear them, they expand lengthways and you end up feeling like you've got a dildo up there. Again, Dylan would have no understanding of any of this what with being male.

(and yes I'm being very careful not to use the words man/woman since they no longer mean what they used to and I'd quite like at least one thread to stay. male/female still refers to biological sex as far as I am aware, though probably not for much longer)

I’m not being picked up on my language

‘some’ can cover an infinite number it can cover millions, it can cover every woman in the world

SirChenjins · 09/04/2023 11:10

No it can’t - and just as male doesn’t equal female, many, many more than 10 women have complained about being silenced on here. Both are facts.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 09/04/2023 11:13

At no point did i say it was only 2 or only 10

i am done however with talking about it

have a happy easter

RealityFan · 09/04/2023 11:15

It is amazing when you think about it, but Dylan's stash will always be full. He'll always have spare.

He's the biggest friend a woman could have, an ally you can all rely on. He'll always be ready to help, never judge.

Isn't that what women have always wanted from their fellow women?

glitterfarts · 09/04/2023 11:16

Well. I've just joined a gym so know which brand to boycott for my gymwear. And I buy the sanitary products in my house for my teen DD's. I have stopped buying tampax this month and they now use another brand happily.

The old saying of no publicity is bad is long gone. Women can and will boycott brands. How ridiculous and insulting to use a male to advertise tampons or bras. I'll happily never buy that brand again.

FrancescaContini · 09/04/2023 11:17

I never asked a random woman in a public toilet for sanitary items in all my 35 years of having periods, and have only ever occasionally been asked for them by FEMALE friends or colleagues.

Men who fetishise periods and construct insulting fantasies about how we WOMEN behave when we are menstruating are very weird. They have no idea how painful, draining and inconvenient periods are.

SirChenjins · 09/04/2023 11:17

While we’re quoting

Some means an unspecified number or amount
can cover 2, 10

While you’re not talking about it the rest of us will continue to refuse to be silenced on this board by MN and the TRAs - we know what female is and it’s not male.

SmartHome · 09/04/2023 11:20

tampax are the worst tampons ever and I don't understand how any woman can wear them

OMG this is so true! I've never thought about it but why are they the only brand that do this? Designed by a male perhaps? 🤣

Perhaps that why Dylan Mulvaney thought that tampons come in cute different sizes to accommodate "barbie pouches" of all different sizes, rather than being about flow. Being a male, Dylan Mulvaney had no idea about this of course. twitter.com/vl_plus/status/1643960999332966400?t=YOtW1Pysmjvyfo3pN6zUGA&s=19

i even agreed that it covered a shitload 🤷🏻

nice cropping there though…kudos

gonna have to hide the thread though 😀 i find it much too tempting to reply

SmartHome · 09/04/2023 11:23

Also - note that in this video, Dylan Mulvaney himself talks about being a boy not a girl and having gone to boys sex education glasses and that being why he is so clueless about tampons and that perhaps he should have got a woman to explain it to him.

And yet we are not allowed to use the terms woman/man on Mumsnet without being censored, banned, shutdown. It's actually terrifying when you think about it and when forced speech was employed before in history.

Mirabai · 09/04/2023 11:28

I think the way free speech is going on matters on fundamental importance to women - means we need a new women’s forum.

Thirded. Tampax are useless, Lillets all the way. No vagina, no clue.

The other thing that infuriates me is scented sanitary pads that give everyone thrush - to the point that it’s now difficult to find unscented. Is this something women pioneered? Nope it’s just something male-dominated corporations enforced on us.

CaptainWarbeck · 09/04/2023 11:43

Wtf is a 'Barbie pouch', honestly. The cutesification and infantilising of this stuff is horrible.

Also watching that video of Dylan exploring a tampon and pad to see what they do is ridiculous. It's clearly for clicks. If he actually cared about learning he would have asked a biological woman rather than faffing about with glasses of water and wondering where the string goes Hmm

Getting bad Rik from The Young Ones vibes on this.
