Just wanted to highlight this interview, with KJK talking about New Zealand, for anyone who wants to see it.

Who is the woman interviewing KJK. She’s fab.

BreadInCaptivity · 27/03/2023 20:27

Her name is in the thread title.

She's a right of centre broadcaster and frankly I don't agree with a number of her views, but kudos to her on this topic she's been rock solid for years.

She did an interview with Brendan O'Neill a while ago where she said she decided this was a hill she was prepared to stake her career on and fair play, she takes no prisoners on this issue.

She's conducted some quite memorable interviews where she is absolutely fervent in refusing the prefix "cis" and isn't afraid of asking questions that expose gender/queer ideology for what it is.

Despite our political differences I've got a lot of respect for her and her tenacity on this issue.

The interview she did with Lily Madigan (years ago on radio) was particularly refreshing cringeworthy for LM at the time and I recall another with a male "ally" when the cis word was used where she basically said get the hell out of my studio, I'm not going to let you spout that crap.

ArabellaScott · 27/03/2023 20:28

Julia Hartley Brewer was excellent interviewing a Labour politican recently who referred to a double rapist as 'she'.

I don't share many viewpoints with her, but on this issue she is bang on the money and not afraid to speak up.

Glad to hear someone say that on here! Normally we get told off for mentioning her!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 27/03/2023 20:35

Really! I haven’t seen her before. Thanks for the info. I read her name, but it didn’t mean anything. So just needed some background. It’s so refreshing t see someone understand and really appreciate the stupidity of this nonsense. We do need people to stand up. I wish I could do more.

beastlyslumber · 27/03/2023 20:37

I love JHB and I don't care who knows it! She gets called a lot of nasty names but it's all misogynist bullshit of the same type that gets thrown at KJK. I'm sick of seeing non-lefty women being monstered.

FOJN · 27/03/2023 20:48

I really appreciate JHB taking this on but I do wish she wasn't so long winded when asking questions.

It's was quite upsetting to hear the emotion in KJK's voice when she talked about the TRA's attack on her. I hope she's had lots of hugs at home.

Me too. It's tiresome and stupid.

MalagaNights · 27/03/2023 20:54

I love JHB too.

Her and KJK are the kind of women I admire.

Not fixated on any in group ideology, prepared to be ostracised by anyone who thinks they should conform to group think, and prepared to be disliked and criticised.

They are not part of clubs, won't go along with organisations rules. They just say what they want.

Women like that are villified. Not putting the group first is not tolerated in women.
You have to have ovaries of steel to be a lone voice, disagreeable woman like them.

EmmaEmerald · 27/03/2023 20:57

I think KJK is amazing, even more so now, it sounds like they really wanted to stop her speaking at all

I didn't think my opinion of the NZ govt could get any lower - but now it's tunnelling down to whatever lies beneath the basement. Nothing will be done about any of those perpetrators, will it? Especially wonder about the 70 year old being punched in the face.

CrinklyLoveStick · 27/03/2023 20:57

I love JHB but she speaks FAR more than her interviewees and it’s so frustrating.

I agree.

It's very frustrating to see some women's views on this matter invalidated because their political views aren't "pure" left wing enough.

Self id is an issue for all women, irrespective of your wider political views.

SallyLockheart · 27/03/2023 20:58

She does, however, do some fabulous eye rolls whenever a trans ally spouts complete garbage!

MalagaNights · 27/03/2023 21:03

She also had Sharon Davies on this morning.

Thanked her for the sacrifices she'd made on challenging men in women's sports and told her she thought she was a hero.

Verite1 · 27/03/2023 21:03

I don’t think it is fair to suggest that her views are “invalidated” because she is not left wing enough. You can agree with her on this issue, but still consider that her views on other issues are repugnant. That’s not invalidation - it’s just accepting that people can have different views on different issues!

Tallisker · 27/03/2023 21:07

I agree Crinkly that JHB talks a bit much, but then we get to look at KJK's fabulous eye makeup and try and work out if we could copy it 🤣

I do like a no-shits-given approach when it comes to this topic.

Fenlandia · 27/03/2023 21:08

Another fangirl here. Her views on regular issues aren't my cup of tea but on this issue, she is worth a thousand mealy-mouthed lefty pundits and politicians who think women can have penises.

FOJN · 27/03/2023 21:08

You can agree with her on this issue, but still consider that her views on other issues are repugnant.

She holds some pretty mainstream right of center views. I think it's good to disagree but when we're using words like "repugnant" for mainstream views where do we go when we encounter extremist views.

RoyalCorgi · 27/03/2023 21:09

She is very very direct. She has skewered several Labour politicians by simply asking them: "What is a woman?" Last week she made mincemeat of Ellie Reeves, the Labour spokesperson on justice, as a PP mentioned.

I also have fond memories of her destroying Lily Madigan (remember Lily?) a few years ago, which probably should have been reported to the NSPCC for cruelty to children.

EndlessTea · 27/03/2023 21:11

I love both JHB and KJK.

Fabulous women. They’ve got guts.

Tbh this is a factor in how we got here
expressing the view that woman = adult human female became "repugnant".

turbonerd · 27/03/2023 21:15

Can someone outline the views that might be «repugnant»?
I watched the video where she insisted a rapist-gender was called a he by nearly shouting it several times: he, he, he!

It was magnificent.

Will watch this when my little troll has fallen asleep.

I agree,. I listen to her when she's doing these interviews and she takes no prisoners. And I'm too old and too angry to be told that i can't listen to someone because waffle waffle waffle!

universityhelp · 27/03/2023 21:18

I don't watch JHB that often, but whenever I've seen her I've agreed with her 100%. Don't really understand what could be so controversial about her views.

Soubriquet · 27/03/2023 21:23

I thought that was a good interview. She did talk over KJK a lot but I suppose that’s how it is
