I can’t believe the misogyny and hostility towards women.

Similarly, the organiser of the Melbourne event, Angie Jones, told radio host Richard King that the neo-Nazis made clear their disdain for feminists beforehand: “They had nothing to do with us. We find their views abhorrent, and they find us abhorrent. On Twitter they said they despised us and that we were trying to turn people into lesbians.

”This sideshow detracted from more serious topics under discussion: ...That’s not to mention the chilling effect on speech created when uttering these concerns lead to social ostracisation.

So everyone lobs abuse at women who just want to protect their sex based rights

The injustice of it. I’m so annoyed at all this

By the way, how can we be sure the Nazis weren't there to support the TRAs?

For that matter, how do we know the TRAs weren't there to support LWS? I mean, they turned up there, attracted by the presence of KJK...

At least Suggestions appears to have given up on the hilarious claim that KJK is going to go after all her feminist opponents and murder them based on her use of linguistic hyperbole. After having her arse handed to her about it by Datun and others on a different thread.

Ahhh, more misrepresentation! Can you evidence any claims you make about me with quotes please. I don't really know what you are referring to as I don't spend hours of my life here, unlike others.

Feel free, anyone, to go back through any of my posts to evidence claims you are making about me.

How do you think harms to minority groups start?

It's not with a machine gun.

It's with charismatic speakers capitalising on some of the baser sentiments and appetites that we are all capable of having.

It's with the exploitation of the social and economic circumstances that give rise to a willingness to direct anger and resentment to an easy and vulnerable scapegoat, rather than the structures and systems that are actually causal in people's unhappiness, but which people feel impotent against.

It's with the gradual erosion of values people once believed in through the convincing rhetoric of people who can justify harm to an outgroup under the guise of protecting an ingroup. It's the normalising of those new attitudes in society.

That's where the harms start. And it is good to tackle harms before they escalate.

I have just read this as 'women, you have to be very careful in what you say in case you inspire a male with no self control to go and harm people'?

Is that what you mean?

Tell us Suggestions are you ok with Kathleen Stock speaking for women's and lesbian's rights? Julie Bindel? Who do you think is acceptable and does it in a way that you will allow?

Thelnebriati · 22/03/2023 14:57

I know this one! It starts with dehumanising language such as 'turds' and 'dropkicks'.

And TERFS. And calling women speaking about their needs as 'anti-transgender'.

But hang on..... we know the answer to this..... women and girls are not considered 'vulnerable' enough to have people call out the dehumanising language that is currently being used for them.

I think I can see where you're going with this one, although I'm sure you'll come up with a more explicit comparison.

Is Nick what'sisname charismatic? comparing women to excrement suggests that he isn't.

I'm still chuckling at suggestions indignant, and vastly unsurprising, comment that they never did anyone's homework at school 😄

Really.

To be frank, I couldn't care less about the sex / gender of a person, it is what they have to say that counts to me.

Posie Parker is framing her tour as 'Let women speak' but quite clearly she does not speak for many, many women, and the crowds that gather in protest against what she has to say is testament to the problems many women have with what she has to say.

Moreover she is clearly not happy about many women speaking, and refers to the cowardice of women and on many occasions speaks negatively of women.

She opportunistically and cynically tries to frame her work as 'letting women speak' when what she is really hoping for is to let prejudice speak and gain a greater foothold.

Ok that's fine, just don't make unevidenced assertions then, it's pretty simple posting etiquette.

nilsmousehammer · 22/03/2023 15:36

I got as far as page one and Mishy's utterly silly post, and am not reading any further so I apologise if I'm repeating what's already been said. But I am done with this ridiculous 'ooooh you hang out with Nazis, if you want equality for women you're a smelly Nazi genocidy something or other' childishness, I'm not engaging with it any further.

I am well aware from experience by now that those posters representing this ridiculousness are usually completely incapable of caring about anyone or anything or having any basic social interest beyond exactly what they want in the moment, but for the sane grown ups amongst us I will point out:

  • no one is fucking throwing live children into fires or conducting medical experiments on them and then hanging them on hooks
  • no one is locking entire villages in a public building and then burning it to the ground
  • no one is herding thousands of people a day off trains into gas chambers and then shovelling them into ovens for the crime of not being Aryan
  • no one is injecting people with mental illness and disabilities with poison

This is only a fucking handful of the atrocities that the Nazi movement did in the 1930s and 40. The Nazi movement ended in 1945. It was stamped out. What is left now, nearly 70 years later is a bunch of wanabees who like the uniform and as far as I can see have no coherent political position or aims beyond a bit of 'grrr, we're bad, we're evil, look at us' and the extent of their activities is largely poncing about quite liking the uniform and the image'.

They are not out to destroy non Aryans - fgs, Maya, Julie Bindel, many of the women leaders of the fight for equality of women's rights with the political demands of the TQ+ lobby would be the first in the concentration camp ovens regardless of anything else.

They are not there because 'Nazi hate LGBT+' - a lot of the women talking are the homosexuals the Nazis murdered on sight.

The Nazis had no fucks to give about women having rights, about child safeguarding, and they were passionately for medical experimentation and mutilation of children.

Every time this bullshit is weaponised it is nothing more than someone who knows fuck all about history, about the Third Reich, and who doesn't give a fuck for anyone who died at their hands. They are merely chucking around today's Big Word in the never ending, childish attempt to punish women for saying no.

You are weaponising the death of fucking millions for a silly political whine that women won't lie down and do what you say. It is bloody appalling. And you may not give a fuck about that, but I find that endlessly and multiply more disgusting than whether or not KJK happened to be in the vicinity of some flag flapping LARPer on a day out.

Are you ok with Kathleen Stock speaking for women's and lesbian's rights? Julie Bindel? Who do you think is acceptable and does it in a way that you will allow?

Because I suspect, and it is probably no surprise to anyone else, that no woman talking about these issues is acceptable to you. Considering all your previous posts on this topic, would that not be a fair comment?

Therefore, even the most mildest words being used is not acceptable to you. And please be honest.

sanluca · 22/03/2023 15:37

Suggestion, do you think women are excrement when they come together to talk about womens issues in an event organised by KJK?

Why are these women shit: because they speak on womens issues or because they attend an event organised by KJK or because they were at an event gatecrashed by neo nazis in response to transactivists gatecrashing?

How would you suggest women can avoid being called shit when wanting to talk about womens issues and self id impact? Not talk about them, not talk about them publicly, not talk about them in the presence of KJK or not talk about them if anyone besides KJK listens as you might never know if they are neo nazis?

Let's defame and dehumanise women who stand for women's rights and the safeguarding of children and then call ourselves progressives.

Same shit, different country.
