From both ends of the trans debate, I am told his interventions are “counterproductive”, “a net bad” and “unhinged”. Some gender-critical women — that is, women who agree with him — believe he craves attention, martyrdom and leadership of a movement whose fight is not even his. One mentions that he was once pro-porn and sex work, which he admits to being before “talking to feminists” changed his mind. Over on the other side of the battle lines, an activist dismisses him as a fringe character full of hot air. None of these people is prepared, however, to go on the record, mostly saying they fear he will retaliate in his customary style.

There is one admirable exception. She is Kathleen Stock, the radical feminist philosopher who resigned from the University of Sussex in 2021 after a campaign by “queer, trans and non-binary” students who wanted her fired. “Graham and I have clashed in the past,” she says, “and we probably aren’t each other’s favourite people. But I think it’s fair to say he’s genuinely committed to fighting what he believes is a woman-harming and child-harming ideology (and I agree with him on that); and he talks to some demographics — particularly ordinary blokes, who don’t really care so much about niceties of language and aren’t put off by his sometimes bludgeoning style — that others don’t necessarily reach.”

Good Lord I must be blind 😂

In fairness I had to do the sum several times to make sure it wasn't me!

Less than £250 to go now - one last dig needed!

I had massive respect for Graham for putting himself on the line and continuing to do so, week after week, taking all the flack. He's suffered badly and kept going. When I met him at a rally he had no need to attend and which cost him a day of his time and hard cash for train fares, he was friendly, he listened and he was as stressed and troubled as any of us would be, facing what he's facing. He's a one-off and a creative and he goes off bang, but he sees what's going on and has the guts to call it out. I will be forever grateful to him for that.

Andrew Billen's article was snide and grudging, desperate not to say anything too positive about Glinner. I bet he's got the writing envy. He knows he's just a hack and Glinner has both the integrity he lacks and the writing ability he dreams of.

Talk to Hadley Freeman, next time, Glinner.

Currently watching the IT crowd on Netflix in the hope that helps support him. Not really my type of humour and the "it doesnt work because it's made in Britain" is annoying me but I'll keep watching.

Glad the crowd funder has exceeded its target, now for the stretch target.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2023 19:41

He's a brave man.
iirc he has said he doesn't get any payment for the Father Ted repeats.

Absolutely! I see Glinner has exceeded the target and is currently at £102,726. 😁

TheBea · 22/03/2023 19:58

He's had to increase his target to £150K, so I'm sure he'd appreciate a little more digging ladies.

Also extended the timing so I can donate again next month. Maya also still hoping for a bit of extra veg.

Graham is correct of course, the interviewer obviously no idea what it's like to be constantly targeted and harassed by trans activists and so Graham's 'tone' may seem unreasonable to him, but that is because he is searching for a reason for the cancellation when in reality there isn't one.
The fact he keeps going on about feminists who don't like the way Graham 'conducts the debate' is also directed at Kelly J Keen, I can't imagine any public figure who has the support of absolutely everyone, but he is definitely supported by the majority.
