Just when you think you've seen it all. Apparently the Department for Education has been contacted for comment:

Drag queen ‘teaches 11-year-olds about anal sex and tells them there are 73 genders’

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/27/drag-queen-teaches-11-year-olds-anal-sex-tells-73-genders/

"Sex education has been suspended in Isle of Man schools after a drag queen allegedly told 11-year-olds that there are 73 genders.
The Isle of Man government has launched an independent review of its personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum after parents raised the alarmm_ about the “graphic, disproportionate, indecent presentation” of sexual acts and different gender identities understood to have been taught in lessons.
Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were taught by a drag queenn_ who told them there are 73 genders.
When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.
Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.
“A lot of children are just too traumatised to even talk to their parents," Eliza Cox, vice-chairman of Marown Commissioners, told Energy FM Isle of Man. “As a parent, you don’t know what children are being taught.”
She said that one teacher on the island had told her she had to teach a group of boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 how to masturbate. Another teacher was said to be so uncomfortable with the content of the PSHE curriculum that they told pupils: “Please don’t listen to me” while they taught the lesson."

Isle of Them, surely.

😂👏

The mind boggles at the other 71variations on the vagina/penis owners. Very strange subject to promote to children.

marchella · 01/03/2023 03:41

SHocking!
Is there a reason that parents can't pull their kids out of these sessions ( as a total worst outcome but might send a msg to the school. Everyone could be " sick".) Or do you not get any advance warning of these sessions?
I'm not in UK.
I just would not send my child . There is absolutely nothing they can do ( where I live). Also a note would be sent out asking for permission way ahead of time. . I wouldn't sign it. We have to sign for all incursions ( terrible word I think) , otherwise your child does not attend that play , musical performance, speech etc being presented by whoever it is that has come into to the school . They stay out and are supervised by a teacher.

the education ministers response

What will happen here is that the teacher will be sacked -

However I’m glad it’s got the nation talking about this because this is already happening under the radar within schools.

Girls are being targeted because porn in all forms has become normalized.

IcakethereforeIam · 01/03/2023 09:18

The Manx (Themx?) newspaper says the drag queen allegations are unsubstantiated. I wonder what's in this document/video that's said to be circulating?

Kittlbua · 01/03/2023 11:22

Is it possible for parents to withdraw their children from things like that?
Maybe that would get the message across - as many parents as possible refuse permission and withdraw the child from sessions like this.

FrancescaContini · 01/03/2023 12:10

The Themx 😂

Stop including LGB people in TQ+ issues by lumping the two completely different groups together.

LGB have been more 'out' in the general population for a lot longer than the TQ+ people & there has never been a problem caused by an organised group of LGB people trying to force their way into schools to teach primary aged children about anal sex while dressed in clothes they might wear out in a club on a Saturday night (closest equivalent to drag I could think of for regular people).

There has not, as far as I have ever heard, been a push from LGB people to be paraded in schools like a zoo exhibit so people know 'they exist'.

It's only the TQ+ movement who are insistent on opportunities to explain their sexual practices & sexuality to children despite opposition from parents & children.

This is PIE propaganda distributed in a sparkly outfit.

Isle of Man, sometimes Mann, refers to the sea god Manannin. I'm not sure Celtic mythical beings subscribe to gender ideology. Although no doubt someone will prove me wrong on that!

Pretty dismissive comment by David Aaronovitch about DQSH (dismissive of people who take issue with it) and the culture wars in general in the Times today. I wonder if he's seen this story before he submittted his comment for publication.

There is an element of introducing inappropriate sexuality and ideas about sexual practices that are inappropriate to children. Whether it is PIE propaganda is a moot point, but Queer Theory is about breaking down barriers and boundaries. Before you remove the fence, ask why the fence is there.

On my regional news channel last night, the head of the school had been reported as having said that " the drag artist was not dressed in drag for the lesson".

Why was he picked to do the lesson then. Doesnt make sense

The Family Education Trust has a different version, where he was in drag:

Maybe he was just brought in to 'teach' about gender identity? Not sure. Time will reveal, I assume.

It is unclear whether the 'penis creation out of forearm flesh' and other controversial sections were taught by the drag artist or by another teacher at the school.

I'm almost certain that there will be a gender corresponding to Celtic mythical beings. It will involve feeling that one's gender is whimsical, surrounded by romantic mists on peat bogs and playing some sort of traditional musical instrument.

And welcome @birchtreeglow !

SidewaysOtter · 02/03/2023 16:01

And on the subject in hand, why a drag queen would be invited to teach escapes me. You wouldn't invite a clown or the local milkman to teach, so why a drag queen?

EDI, ensuring visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, member of the LGBTQ+ community, lived experience, expert on gender matters.

All buzz concepts currently.

I expect there are more, er, reasons.

Ah my mistake, they'd presumably have the pronouns fae/faer! I spelt Manannan incorrectly too, obviously not on the ball yesterday.

@NotHavingIt I think there are two different situations that have been amalgamated. Whatever the yr7s have been taught and a different lesson for older (15-16) kids.

I think Thor indulged in cross dressing at least once. My celtic mythology is a bit rusty but there are so many stories I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least one that's a gender bender. Didn't Babh(?) visit labour pains on the men of Ulster because her husband made her run a race when she was pregnant?

I wouldn’t be surprised if planning officers weren’t willing to offer local plans story time sessions in the local library to try to get some engagement in their consultation exercises. 🤣
