Just when you think you've seen it all. Apparently the Department for Education has been contacted for comment:

Drag queen ‘teaches 11-year-olds about anal sex and tells them there are 73 genders’

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/27/drag-queen-teaches-11-year-olds-anal-sex-tells-73-genders/

"Sex education has been suspended in Isle of Man schools after a drag queen allegedly told 11-year-olds that there are 73 genders.
The Isle of Man government has launched an independent review of its personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum after parents raised the alarmm_ about the “graphic, disproportionate, indecent presentation” of sexual acts and different gender identities understood to have been taught in lessons.
Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were taught by a drag queenn_ who told them there are 73 genders.
When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.
Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.
“A lot of children are just too traumatised to even talk to their parents," Eliza Cox, vice-chairman of Marown Commissioners, told Energy FM Isle of Man. “As a parent, you don’t know what children are being taught.”
She said that one teacher on the island had told her she had to teach a group of boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 how to masturbate. Another teacher was said to be so uncomfortable with the content of the PSHE curriculum that they told pupils: “Please don’t listen to me” while they taught the lesson."

Please watch this short video by DQ Kitty Demure on drag being adult entertainment and addresses your concerns from 2.03 mins.

Why would I listen to someone who make a job out of womanface? You’ll be expecting me to listen to those people who think minstrel shows are “just entertainment” next. Would you watch a show that uses blackface? If not why not? Why is womanface ok but blackface not?

I think you’ve misunderstood the point of my post. This video has been posted and discussed many times on Mumsnet in relation to safeguarding eg www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/3799692-Kitty-Demure-A-friendly-message-to-mothers-who-want-their-kids-influenced-by-drag.

TodayInahurry · 28/02/2023 07:11

I am not a parent, but I cannot understand why this is allowed. The lunacy that has taken over so many institutions will be regarded with horror in a few years.

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 28/02/2023 07:12

I think the trans community is brining this upon themselves- and individuals get caught up in it. Sorry OP. We are told that anyone who says they are trans should be accepted without question. Have you followed the story about the double rapist in Scotland who realised that SHE was trans in the courtroom and wanted to go to a women’s prison with HER PENIS? Do you realise how this comes across?

nobody really minded a few years ago when transwomen flew under the radar. Now, with women’s prisons, rape counselling, hospital wards, etc, all include biological males and we see and hear horror stories, it is enough. We will respect you more if you stop forcing women to accept you in our spaces.

Any right wing involvement has nothing to do with women. This has just become so visible that even Johnny in the pub now is aware of this. And, this may surprise you, Johnny in the pub doesn’t like the thought of other males in spaces where the women he loves are vulnerable. I think any violence here is male on male violence. Again keep women out of it.

With regards to the schools, I find it horrifying. We had a very bad experience of this sex / trans education from external providers, my children were traumatised. I discussed with other parents and this year we were ready. I have shown my children clips of Richard Gervais, Dave Chappelle, Konstantin Kishin, Magdalene Berns, etc over the past couple of years. They now think it all is hilarious.

They had sex-ed a few weeks ago. My son’s best friend asked if the teacher could repeat it all in a way more suitable for him as he identified as an attack helicopter (he also gave pronouns). The class was in stitches.

puffyisgood · 28/02/2023 07:18

Ludicrous. If nothing else, 41.66 recurring of those 73 genders are completely made up.

Why are drag queens every bloody where these days? TV, ads, schools. They seem to be the definitive representatives of the "LGBTQIA+ community", the symbol of diversity and inclusion, and drag queen story time is absolutely everywhere. Who did this and how?

There was a transwoman on The Piano the other day. They weren't very good and stood out from the others for that reason alone. The judges looked uncomfortable about having to comment on a poor performance. No idea why it was included.

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 28/02/2023 07:24

Wasn’t there a transwoman playing the piano with their penis as well?

NashvilleQueen · 28/02/2023 07:27

Why is it always drag?

By all means have representation from the lgbtq+ community in schools. I fully agree with the notion that young people need to know that however they fit in it's fine and normal but drag is an extreme caricature.

How have they become the go-to group to traipse into schools sprinkling fucking glitter and tottering about on platform heels? Why can't we have lesbian doctors and gay car salesmen and trans greengrocers and bi stay at home parents and so on so that young people see sex as just part of who we are and not something that's overblown and grotesque?

I beg your pardon? 4 or 5? I'm sorry but that's not right ☹️

Of course it is. Children explore their own bodies. Some more than others. They are doing nothing wrong.

The 73 genders thing is daft and, if that's how it happened, it wasn't necessary to insist the child believes that and it was totally the wrong way to deal with it.

The sex education sounds very inappropriate but I don't see the text saying that the drag queen was doing any of the teaching and therefore it is a matter for the people who designed the curriculum to deal with, but in a nasty, manipulative bit of homophobia it's been written ambiguously to link those with the drag queen. Even a wokey snowflake like me initially read it as the drag queen having done that before I realised that's not what it said, so it's clearly written to set people off.

Maybe you don't like drag, but if you amplify these stories uncritically you are being a useful idiot for deeply unpleasant people who want to destroy LGBTQ's people's lives with the 'won't someone think of the children' line and turning otherwise reasonable people to the idea that all gay rights have gone too far and they need putting back in the closet.

I don't think it's been written in a nasty ambiguous way at all.

Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/oQ2ig/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/07/16/drag-queen-story-time-primary-school-children-prompts-backlash/" rel="nofollow" target="blank">taught by a drag queenen who told them there are 73 genders.*
The children were taught by a drag queen.

When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.
An 11 year old child was ejected from the classroom for questioning queer theory.

Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.
This is part of wider sex education at the school which is teaching sex ed heavily informed by queer theory.

If there is any kind of homophobic backlash, it's down to the people who push this shit at children, not those of us who object to it.

Here's an archived link to the article: archive.is/2023.02.27-181151/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/27/drag-queen-teaches-11-year-olds-anal-sex-tells-73-genders/

The 'drag queen' link in the article goes to an article about drag queen Sab Samuel who has been going into libraries and reading to children in this outfit.

Sab launched a GoFundMe for the funeral costs for another drag queen who was a convicted child rapist.

Welcome @birchtreeglow, I'm fairly new to this board still and have found they're a very forgiving bunch if you make an arse of yourself, so i wouldn't worry. If in doubt, just get the cheeseboard out and the other posters will be golden. :-)

Same here. Welcome.

Kerfuffler · 27/02/2023 23:22

Did something get missed off the end of your last sentence?

Sorry, yes.

Sab’s child rapist friend repeatedly had to be stopped from taking jobs where he could access children because sexual predators are persistent, tenacious and patient.

They are willing to play the long game and work with other men to groom the adults supposed to be protecting children into dropping their guard. Jimmy Saville groomed police forces, people in authority, the general public and they all helped to silence the nurses who tried to report his sexual abuse of children. This pattern is now apparent again.

There is not one DQ that has come to public attention for performing in schools and other spaces that hasn’t got huge red flags around them. These individuals are the main performers - obviously Sab runs DQST and seems to be one of the busiest.

If they weren’t ‘representatives’ of ‘LGBTQ community’ and didn’t wear their wigs and glitter, I’m sure every school and parent wouldn’t dream of having them close to their children. Yet here we are.

I watched it. He made a good case for not taking children anywhere near drag queens. He did end by saying mothers doing this were ruining drag queens (as well as children) which I found cloyingly distasteful. However, I still agreed with him in principle. In the UK pantomime uses dames (and I miss Principal Boys) and Morris Men traditionally black up as sweeps, as part of the guising tradition, traditional disguise (as Morris collected money i.e. begged), wood spirits etc. - and I am not just happy with that I get annoyed with people who say it's racist: historical illiteracy annoys me much more, obv. Drag queens are not necessarily associated in my mind with nightclubs etc. (more Saturday Night at the London Palladium) but I do not think they are suitable entertainment for children - unlike pantomime dames and Morris Dancers. Worth a watch.

Yes. Said penis performer won a ‘Breakthrough’ comedy award and an award at the Edinburgh fringe.

It just goes to show that a penis trumps talent in the misogynistic comedy world.

New to posting here, have been lurking and hopefully, learning.

Just how the fuck did the school think that this is in any way appropriate?!
I had a peek at the school's 'Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy'
"...There are five main elements to our policy:

  1. Ensuring we practice safe recruitment in checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children...."
qe2.sch.im/site/uploads/pages/12/_media/20230227_ad6ec27c/Child_Protection_Policy_November_22.pdf

Massive fail there.

The policy also states "Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. The Queen Elizabeth II High School fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection and safeguarding of students. We have developed this policy in conjunction with guidance from the Isle of Man Safeguarding Children Board. All procedures issued by the Isle of Man DEC and the IOM Safeguarding Children Board as published on their websites will be followed. This policy should be reviewed annually by Governors at their Autumn meeting."

So I searched for the 'Isle of Man Safeguarding Children Board' I found this link to Child Protection on gov.im

www.gov.im/about-the-government/departments/education-sport-and-culture/inclusion-and-safeguarding/child-protection/
which has a related link to 'Protecting Children Board Website', though the link doesn't work for me - the server can't find it.
So I searched again using 'Protecting Children Board Website' and found it:
www.safeguardingboard.im

Looking at their information on what they themselves state constitutes abuse; then surely the school is culpable in the Emotional Abuse, Sexual Abuse and Neglect of children?
www.safeguardingboard.im/safeguarding-children/information-for-professionals/child-abuse-definitions/

It seems to me that schools and other organisations have thrown safeguarding out of the window under the guise of ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion’, when they allow this, when they look to Stonewall, Mermaids et al for ‘advice’ and materials, when they seek to distance/create a divide between children and parents in some way.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – what bunkum and poppycock.

Those organisations seek to take away women’s rights, trample on womanhood, dismantle our boundaries, cause division, sew hate and cause harm to and indoctrinate children, it’s pernicious. I've peaked and I'm really angry.

Thank you for these links and welcome! Smile

I can't believe that teaching children how to masturbate isn't abuse. From your link with my bold:

"They [the activities] may also include non contact activities, such as involving children in looking at, or the production of, sexual images, watching sexual activities, encouraging children to behave in sexually inappropriate ways, or grooming a child in preparation for abuse"

I have a feeling that the poor sod teachers did not actually make the decision in this case. Probably some loony SLT type.

That may well be the case, but surely at least one teacher could / should have said, "Hang on, this isn't right." If the local trouble maker came onto the school grounds, they'd chase him, right?
